First Encounter
Natasha was a patient woman. The only time she was impatient was when she was waiting for the centerpiece flowers to be delivered at Bucky’s wedding.
You weren’t having a great day either, you were late for your first official job that paid well, and your stupid car decided to stop in the middle of nowhere. Bucky’s best man and woman had called you multiple times, but the reception was shitty and could not intercept their call.
Tears were already welling up in your eyes, this was your first job — you hoped that maybe you could give out some business cards and others might approach you. But with the way this was going, you'd have to shut down your shop if there wasn't a heavy influx of customers soon.
What made the situation worse was that you knew Sam before he met Bucky. He had been like a big brother to you, supporting your dreams when no one else did. He was so happy when you giddily accepted to be his best woman. And now you were screwing up the most important day of his life — his wedding day.
Your phone rang and with no hope, you picked it up and to your surprise, the reception wasn't that bad at the moment.
“Hello!” you greeted cheerfully once you realized the person on the other side could possibly save you if you made this quick. “Can you hear me?”
“Yeah,” the response was barely audible. You had to make this conversation swiftly before you lost the connection again. “My car broke down. I’m stuck, but the flowers are fine. Can I send you my location?”
Before the person on the line could say something, the call got disconnected. And you kicked the tire, which added a foot ache to the list of your problems. You bent down, rubbing your feet in hopes of soothing it a bit. It didn’t work.
Although you did not get a response, you still sent your location nonetheless. You hoped that maybe the person heard you and would eventually come to your rescue. Still, after almost 25 minutes, there was not a single soul found on the deserted road you were stuck at.
Exhaling in defeat, you made your way towards the car.
