Chapter 6
Everything worked out exactly like planned. Friday gained her new body and also Extremis.
Tony feels slightly jealous as how well Friday can operate with Extremis, but it makes sense.
Since she was brought to this world, she communicated and worked with technology and from what she described it as… it’s really similar.
Tony, Friday and even Vision, who has little connection to internet and technology, agreed to test out their limits when they return back to San Francisco.
Currently, Helen is giving Friday one last check up. Tony, Rhodey and Vision, who is already overprotective of his “little sister/aunt” are watching from spectating window, all still in awe.
Friday was beaming with excitement, she kept poking at her arm with fascinated expression and grinned like a child during Christmas, when she tasted water for the first time.
She had little problems with walking at first, but she quickly got the hang of it.
Tony is brought out of his thoughts when Helen opens the door and gives them all warm smile. She then turns to him and mentions with his head to go inside.
Tony doesn’t hesitate, immediately he goes in and sees Friday, sitting on a bed, poking at her legs.
When she notices him, she grins from ear to ear and Tony feels something warm inside his chest.
“How are you feeling Fri?” Tony asks as he sits beside her.
“Good, I felt little sting when Dr. Cho took some of mine blood. Is that how pain feels like?”
Tony chuckles “Yes, welcome between us mortals, Baby Girl”
Friday runs a hand through her hair and gives out laugh in disbelief. Tony also softly laughs, seeing her so happy.
She then tuns to him with warm smile “Thank you for this, Dad”
Immediately as she realizes what she said her eyes go wide with embarrassment and her cheeks go little red. “I mean… Boss. Sorry!
Tony smiles and puts his hand around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him.
It surprises him a little as he touches her because it feels like touching ordinary human.
He mentally claps himself on the back “Nice work”
Friday doesn’t resist when he pulls her closer to him, but keeps looking down on her hands that are now resting in her lap. She is also nervously bitting her lip.
“You know… I don’t mind if you call me Dad”
Friday looks at him and studies his face and Tony starts going little nervous
“I mean… technically I am your dad, soo…”
He doesn’t finish as Friday throws her arms around him and hugs him. He stays still for a proximity 2 seconds before he smiles and hugs her back.
Behind the window, Rhodey, Helen and Vision are watching this beautiful interaction with smiles on their faces.
They stay in Malibu for another week, helping Friday get familiar with life as human.
Helen took it upon herself to teach Friday all of the “girl stuff” and teach both Friday and Vision actually cook. Even Tony joined on some of the lessons.
Rhodey and Friday also bonded a little and he soon became Friday’s favorite “Uncle”
When the time came to leave and return to San Francisco, neither Helen or Rhodey wanted to let them leave, but they eventually said their goodbyes and hit the road.
The drive to San Francisco was… interesting.
Like always, Tony and Vision were taking turns in driving and Friday spent her time spectating the world from her own eyes.
That was until she asked if she could try to drive.
Neither Tony or Vision will ever be sure if Friday did it intentionally, but she gave them “puppy eyes” so they agreed.
They went to empty side road and started explaining how to drive. But Friday grew little bored during explorations and decided to experiment.
She slammed her foot on gas and the car blasted forward. Both Vision and Tony let out un-manly screams because they almost hit a tree.
Friday then stoped the car and gave them this innocent smile while asking for them to explain it to her again. After the whole explanation, she got the hang of it. But Tony will never forget Vision’s terrified expression and rapid blinking.
He kinda regrets not taking a picture.
When they finally got home, Dum-E, U and Butterfingers immediately rushed up to them, welcoming then, and started inspecting their Little Sister who patted them all on heads with smile.
The Kids latter vanished into Friday’s room where they started decorating and building her’s furniture.
Tony meanwhile in his workshop, started working on new AI. Not that they need it, but it could be nice, having another, new member of the family.
He learned many new things in AI department, so this new one, Jocasta. Will be his most advanced AI yet.
After some hours Vision came, calling Tony for dinner.
To Tony’s surprise the foot was actually great.
Then, they had little Movie Marathon and watched Star Wars Prequel Trilogy.
In all their opinions, it was greatly underrated and ahead of it’s time.
Eventually, they all fall asleep on the couch, so Dum-E, U and Butterfingers covered them with blankets and went into Sleeping mods besides them.
