Chapter 2
When Tony arrived at the Compound, Rhodey, Vision, Happy and Peter were all there, waiting for him.
Rhodey is going back to Malibu where he will be continuing his treatment with Helen Cho. Happy will continue looking out for Peter who will continue being Spider-Man.
Vision is moving with Tony, Friday and Bots to San Francisco. Tony is glad, that Vision decided to leave with him, they are family.
“I will miss you, Tones” Rhodey says sadly looking into the dark sky as Tony is loading some begs in the car. Tony turns to him and gives him a warm smile “We will meet again Honey-bear”
“I know, but I will still miss you.”
Tony chuckles and goes to hug Rhodey who happily hugs back.
“Don’t be a stranger” Rhodey whispers and Tony smiles sadly as they break apart.
“Goodbye, Rhodey
“Goodbye, Tony”
Rhodey moves aside and goes to say goodbye to Vision while Happy steps forward to Tony with sad look “Boss”
“Happy”
“Good luck.”
Tony smiles “You to Hap. Keep an eye on Stark Industries and The Kid for me, please.”
Happy smiles and pats Tony on shoulders “Will do”
Tony grins and brings Happy for a hug. Happy is at first surprise but gladly returns the hug.
Peter is looking hesitant before he moves forward as Tony and Happy break apart.
Tony smirks “Underoos”
Peter grimaces “It’s… Spider-Man.”
“I will call you, sometimes”
“You will?” Peter asks, surprised
Tony smiles “Yep, I actually enjoyed talking to you. You have a great mind and potential”
“Thank you” Peter says while he is blushing a little
Tony nods “Stay safe, kid”
“You to, Mr Stark. I hope you will find what you are looking for”
Tony pats him on shoulder “Me to”
After Vision said his own goodbyes, he comes to Tony side and Tony asks him “Are we ready?”
“Yes, everything is packed and loaded”
Tony gives the Compound one last look before he moves to sit down into the Car and drives away.
Peter returns to Queens and on the next day and Happy and Rhodey travel to UN meeting.
The meeting is long a pointless. It’s mostly focused on the “Rogue Avengers” as the media branded them. After an hour, everybody is ready to leave. Suddenly the monitors inside the room flicker and turn on.
“What is this?” One Council Member demands to know
“It’s a gift from Mr. Stark” Happy says into microphone. Hearing the name Stark, everyone sits down, intrigued.
On the monitors starts rolling camera footage from what Rhodey and Happy suspect is Raft. Ross immediately went pale as a wall behind him, when he realized what Tony just did.
While Tony was still in hospital, he focused his attention at the Secretary of State. He searched for every dirty little secret that Ross had buried, from illegal transactions in black market, Chitauri weapons and technology to literal recordings of his “experiments.”
Everyone in the room pales, and looks sick. Ross was openly shaking with rage. He tried to save himself, claiming that it’s all a fake and that Tony is trying to incriminate him, but it was clearly, all real.
Ross was taken away, screaming and kicking and Rhodey smiled to himself. “This one is for you Bruce.”
The Council started to debating again, but Rhodey, not wanting to be there for another pointless hour, quickly jumped for the microphone. ”Excuse me, but we also have a message from Mr. Stark and The Vision for you to see”
“Of course, you may proceed, Colonel Rhodes” One of the member says, clearly hoping for some good news.
In that moment, both Rhodey and Happy feel sorry for them. In only manner of weeks they lost all of The Avengers and learned that one of their members was nothing more then a sadistic monster.
Tony’s support of the Accords means a lot for them all. The Avengers worked as independent task force for years and ever since Sokovia and Ultron incident, caused many property damaged that costed people lives. The World’s Leaders couldn’t tolerate that anymore.
They all originally believed, that Tony would be the difficult one, considering his first hearing about Iron Man a few years back in Washington.
Not Captain America.
The Accords would limit The Avengers movement, they wouldn’t be allowed to simply enter another country as they pleased. They would work as any military task force in the world. Steve Rogers is a soldier, so none of them really understands why he refused to even read the Accords and went rogue.
So yes, they didn’t expect things to end up this way.
When Tony’s message ends, there is a moment of silence before the chaos starts. Neither Happy or Rhodey could actually make out what they were talking about, since they were all shouting over each other.
With Vision and Tony’s “retirement and disappearing” and Rhodey’s injury, The Avengers were practically none existing.
They debated for days, desperately trying to find a solution. They even considered pardoning The Rogues and reworking the Accords with them for their liking.
As soon as they come out to some conclusion about the situation…
Zemo made his final move.
Nobody is sure about how he managed to do it, but only few days before The Council officially decided to pardon The Rogues, Zemo released the camera footage from Siberia online and the world went crazy.
There were protest again The Rogues. The Public opinion wasn’t split to half anymore. Now, everybody stood behind Tony. Even Captain America, die hard fans and supports almost completely vanished.
Hastags #TeamIronMan #JusticeForStarks #NotMyCaptain were trading on internet for weeks and The Council quickly scrapped any ideas for their pardons.
Some people even put flowers and candles before The Stark Tower. Nobody blames him for leaving, they all are praying for Tony and his well being.
Rhodey smiled sadly as he watched the news on TV. He is glad that the public finally supports Tony’s back, he only wishes that it wasn’t to late.
He switches the TV off as female Reporter says “This marks the end of the Avengers.”
