Interlude - Finishing the List

It was around a week later that Natasha began to experiment in her endeavor to relieve some of her gender dysphoria again. She had ordered some clothes and men's jewelry online a few days after her first time trying out some of the things on Clint's list, and they had arrived a little while after that. She had booked an appointment for her hair that was going to happen in a few days, so she had the rest of the list done.

Natasha had decided to forgo changing her dress style, having just figured out how she liked to dress. She already had a style that suited her and that made her feel good, so she didn't want to change it. She did order more clothes because, admittedly, she used any opportunity she could get to get more clothes.

Pulling on one of the new sweaters she had gotten, she walked over to the mirror. She had already put on the boots that made her tall and some straight-fit men's jeans (another tip from Clint he had given to her while they were working together). She looked in the mirror and was genuinely really happy with what she saw for the first time in a while. She didn't always hate the way that she looked in the mirror, but a lot of the time, she would look in the mirror and feel detached or neutral about herself in a way that she didn't like. Changing things up for herself and putting in the effort of making things better really had benefited her.

The last thing that was left on the list was wearing men's jewelry. Natasha had searched for men's jewelry that matched her dress style and hadn't been able to find much. She was able to find several chunky rings that seemed pretty masculine, and some bulky bracelets that she liked, and that was about it for masculine jewelry. Natasha decided after not being able to find much masculine jewelry that it didn't need to be men's jewelry or even masculine, it just needed to feel good to wear. She wasn't a man and she wasn't very often masculine.

Natasha pulled out some of the rings and put them on. A frog-shaped ring was on her pointer finger, and a few more bulky ones with small patterns of a similar theme engraved into them were on her other fingers. Next was the bracelet that she found. It was a beaded bracelet, with beads of different shades of brown and green on it. A bead in the middle of the bracelet stood out against the rest, much larger than all of the others and with a picture of a mushroom in the middle of it. The weight felt nice on Natasha's wrist, and she smiled at the sound the bracelet made as the beads clacked against each other.

Natasha looked in the mirror and smiled. She looked good. She liked the way that she looked. The way that she dressed was appealing to her eyes and made her feel good about herself. The way that she stood made her feel more confident. Things had definitely gotten better since that day in front of the mirror.
