Wanda x reader x Vision
Vision had come back to you and Wanda three times since his death at Thanos's hands.
The first time he'd been a memory.
Not real, but at the same time as genuine as the sun.
The next time it was his body that came back. It looked similar, but it wasn't him, and Vision had no memory of the life the three of you had before.
But the final time, it was your Vision that came back. Physically and mentally, he was the man remembered and the one you missed.
You felt it in your bones before your mind caught up, but you knew that this was your Vision.
At first, when you hadn't known that Vision was yours, things had been rough.
You and Wanda had been cold to the man you loved and tried to push him away.
But Vision was not so easily discouraged.
Vision had stayed.
He had stayed with the two of you despite you both being different than he remembered.
And in the end, everything had worked out.
The three of you had found each other again, fallen in love once more, and now you were pregnant with the children you had thought lost.
Life felt good, even with its occasional setbacks and problems.
Because the three of you would be there for one another, no matter what.
"Okay, and here are the veggies." You announced, entering the kitchen with a basket of dirty vegetables.
"Do not put that basket on my counter," Wanda warned you, holding a pot above her rounded stomach.
"Would never dream of it." You promised.
"Here, darling, let me take that." Vision said, taking the basket out of your hands. "You shouldn't be carrying so much."
"Vis, I'm barely three months along." You reminded the android.
"Yes, but back pains can start at any time. Your body is going through a lot of changes to accommodate Luna." Vision told you.
"You hear that, missy? You remember that before you kick my bladder." You teased your stomach, rubbing a hand along it. "I'm trying my best."
"She doesn't mean to kick your bladder, Y/N," Wanda said, smiling at you. "She can't even really kick you yet."
"Then how come I'm peeing so much?" You wondered, taking a bottle of water out of the fridge.
"I believe the liquid in your hand might explain that," Vision told you.
"Oh."
"Help me with the steak, won't you?" Wanda giggled, turning back to dinner.
"God. When was the last time we had this?" You asked, moving to stand beside Wanda.
"We were in some motel in Paris, I think." Wanda hummed.
"Didn't you fall on your ass during that trip? In public?" You questioned the woman with a smirk.
"What? No!" Wanda denied her face flushing red.
"Yes, you did!" You exclaimed at Wanda's embarrassment. "We were at the markets, running around trying to find all these spices and vegetables, and then you slipped and fell on your ass!" You recounted with a cackle.
"We agreed to never speak of that again!" Wanda shrieked, throwing a carrot at your head.
"I agreed to nothing." You grinned, tossing the vegetable back to the woman.
"I don't remember that." Vision said, causing you and Wanda to turn to him.
Vision, in short, looked distressed.
His face seemed to have paled, and he was gripping the counter tight enough to break it as he stared down at the ground.
"Vis?" You asked, moving to stand at his side.
"I remember Paris. I remember being in Paris, but I don't remember that." Vision said quietly.
"It's not a big deal, Vis. Everyone forgets things all the time." Wanda attempted to assure the android.
"Not me." Vision shook his head. "I don't just forget things. I'm supposed to have all my memories back."
"Vis, look at me." You demanded, grabbing his face and clutching it gently. "Vision, it does not matter if you're missing a couple of memories."
"But I can't remember this."
"And that's okay. It's okay to forget things. Do you know why I have our anniversary tattooed on my wrist? Because otherwise, I'd never remember the date."
"We only have a calendar so I can write birthday's down." Wanda chimed in.
"See? Everyone forgets things, Vis. It's a part of life." You promised him.
"But what if I continue to lose my memories? What then?" Vision wondered.
"Then we will work through it together," Wanda vowed. "And if it becomes a real problem, we will fix it."
"Thank you, my dears." Vision smiled.
"Of course. Now, let's get dinner going 'cos baby is hungry."
Non-reader POV
Vision didn't sleep.
As an android, he had no need to sleep as his wives did, but he did enjoy resting beside them.
In the long nights, when he had nothing to read and no questions to ponder, Vision would allow his mind to drift as he held his girls close.
He enjoyed the tranquillity of the near silence and the steady breaths of those he loved.
But sometimes, he couldn't concentrate on that. Sometimes that wasn't a possibility for his mind.
Sometimes Vision's mind would refuse to silence, and he would merely be a passenger as his conscious travelled around thoughts and memories.
Like tonight, for example.
Tonight, Vision could not deter his brain from travelling to his worst memories.
His final moments before both his deaths, coming back online to feel nothing and the day he tried to kill the women he loved.
After the last memory ended, Vision forced himself out of bed.
He phased out of the bedroom and into what was becoming the nursery.
The nursery had become Vision's project. During any part of the day or night, Vision could be found there.
Vision was always building more furniture, painting murals on the walls, or reading books on child-rearing.
Tonight, however, Vision set himself the task of folding the children's clothes.
And that's where Y/N found him.
"Morning." Y/N yawned, rubbing her eyes as she made her way over to him.
"Darling? What are you doing awake?" Vision asked, turning to the half-asleep woman.
"Luna won't settle. Think she can sense you're in distress." She murmured, moving to press her head into Vision's back. "I don't remember ordering them." She said, nodding at the baby grow in Vision's hands.
"I might have been a bit liberal in my online ordering lately." Vision admitted, continuing to neatly fold the clothes.
"Vis, are you gonna tell me what's going on in your head? Was it a bad dream or something?"
"Technically speaking, I don't dream. Though my mind can wander, I don't dream as you do."
"Be glad you'll never dream of being naked in a crowded supermarket then." Y/N snorted.
"What?"
"Never mind." Y/N shook her head. "Okay, if it's not a dream, then what's got you so tense?"
"I'm not tense." Vision denied, still keeping his back to the woman.
Both Y/N and Wanda could read his face too easily.
"Uh-huh. And I'm the Space Queen." Y/N said, shaking her head. "You want to try another lie on me, or are we going with the truth now?"
"I couldn't get my mind to turn off." Vision admitted with a sigh. "No matter what I tried, I still couldn't get it to stop."
"I'm going to take a guess that you weren't thinking about hypotheticals, were you?" Y/N questioned the android.
Vision hummed in response.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"Not particularly."
"Okay. Do you want me to leave you alone?"
"Please don't."
"Alright. I'm not going anywhere." Y/N promised, wrapping her arms around his waist. "I'm right here." She added, burrowing her head further into Vision's back.
"Thank you, darling." Vision whispered, pressing his hands on top of hers.
And the two stood like that for hours.
And the longer they stood there, the further Vision's mind drifted away from those terrible memories.
"Ah, Wanda, darling. Finally emerged from your cave?" Vision teased, looking up from his book as Wanda entered the living room.
Wanda entered with her hands hidden behind her back.
"It is not a cave. It is a shed." Wanda corrected the android with a roll of her eyes.
"Of course, darling. All the same, you've been hiding it since dawn." Vision told the woman.
"I had to finish something.
Is that something the same thing have are currently hiding behind your back?" Vision wondered, raising a brow.
"Yes."
"Are you going to tell me what you have hidden behind your back, or do you want me to close my eyes and pretend this didn't happen?" Vision questioned the woman.
"I'm going to give it to you, but you need to close your eyes first and then hold out your hands." Wanda directed.
"If I'm going to have it in my hands and see it seconds later, why do I need to close my eyes first?" Vision wondered.
"Because that's how surprises work, Viz," Wanda told the man. "Please, for me?"
"Alright." Vision nodded before closing his eyes.
"Are your eyes closed tight, Vision? Can you see anything?" Wanda questioned him.
"Yes, my dear."
"Alright, hold your hands out," Wanda said, and Vision did so.
An object was lightly placed into his outstretched hands. It felt delicate but sturdy at the same time.
"You can open your eyes now," Wanda said softly after a second.
Vision opened his eyes.
"Oh, Wanda." He breathed, staring down at the object in his hands.
In his hands was a bouquet of metal roses. Six roses, to be exact. All intricately woven around each other without a seam to be seen.
"They're real vibranium," Wanda said, drawing Vision out of his stunned silence. "I might have created a tiny portal into Wakanda and taken some, but only a little." Wanda was quick to assure. "The shaping took a while, I had to restart a couple of times, but I think they turned out pretty good. Do you like them?"
"Wanda, I love them. They are stunning." Vision promised, rising to his feet to embrace the woman before kissing her. "Thank you, love."
"Happy birthday, Vis." Wanda smiled up at him.
"Birthday?" Vision wondered, cocking his head to the side. "That's not today, is it?"
"May 17th." Wanda nodded. "Your birthday."
"Oh. I didn't realise. I didn't remember." Vision murmured, staring down at the ground.
"Vis?" Wanda asked, pressing her hand to his cheek. "Are you okay?"
"I'm having trouble with my memory again." Vision admitted. "I didn't remember the date. I didn't remember that it was my birthday. I don't remember,"
"Vis, breathe," Wanda said, rubbing her thumb along his cheek. "In and out."
"Yes, thank you, darling." Vision sighed.
"Good. Now, look at me. Everyone forgets dates. It happens, and that's life. We forget things, and it's okay." Wanda promised.
"But what if I continue to forget things? Important things?"
"Then we will understand. Because we forget things too, but there are ways to remind yourself. This is not the end of the world, Vision."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive."
"Thank you, Wanda." Vision sighed. "That really puts things in perspective."
"You're welcome, love."
"Go to sleep, loves. I have this under control." Vision said, gently pushing his wives towards the bed.
"But what about night feedings?" Y/N yawned, shuffling towards the bed without much thought.
"There's plenty of bottles in the fridge." Vision reminded the woman.
"And if they all wake up at once?" Wanda asked as Y/N collapsed face-first onto the mattress.
"I will handle it." Vision promised. "Please, darlings, for me, get some sleep. You are both dead on your feet."
"Rude." Y/N snorted, blindly reaching a hand out to Wanda. "V's right, Wand. Come get some sleep."
"Alright. Alright. You win, I'll sleep." Wanda sighed, taking Y/N's hand and allowing herself to be pulled onto the mattress. "Just, just come get us if you need us." She said, already half asleep.
"Of course, dear." Vision smiled at the two before phasing out of the room and into the nursery.
The three infants were all laid in their crib, just beginning to wake up.
"Hello, sweetheart. Did you enjoy your nap?" Vision asked, gently reaching into the crib to pick up Luna.
Luna, of course, didn't respond. She merely stared up at her father with her curious eyes.
"You remember me, don't you, sweetheart?" Vision hummed. "I can see it in your eyes that you recognise me. I see it when you look at your mothers and your brothers. You remember a life before."
Luna shoved her fist into her mouth with a gurgle.
"I'm not exactly the father you remember, but I am still your father, sweetheart. And I love you, your brothers, and your mothers as much as I did before. Even more." Vision promised as Luna reached out her slobbery fingers and touched his cheek.
A warm feeling overtook Vision. An emotion overwhelmed Vision.
Love. That warm feeling was love.
"I love you too, sweetheart." Vision smiled down at his daughter in his arms as his sons began to wake. "I promise you and your brothers will never not know how much I love you."
After coming back to life for the third time, Vision struggled with his memory.
He struggled to remember things from before the war, and no matter how hard he tried, he could never forget the memories that haunted his nightmares.
While Vision may not have any memories of his children from before and might forget the occasional memory with the women he loved, Vision understood that new memories could always be made.
Every day with the people he loved was an opportunity to make memories and that was the important thing.
