Chapter 7
"Okay, wake up." Bucky said, lightly nudging Wanda's leg. "Vision is taking you and Pietro to the Colleseum in an hour. You need to get dressed."
Wanda nodded, slowly getting up. "I better be getting shorts today. Or at least something with leg holes."
Bucky laughed, tossing a bag onto Wanda's lap. "Why don't you see for yourself?"
Wanda sat up off of her spot and opened the bag, seeing a pair of blue jean shorts and a pastel pink plaid cropped tank top. Wanda glanced up and said, "Natasha does know that I don't really do pink... Right?"
"Honestly, I don't think Natasha cares. Just get dressed. This will probably be the only time you really have to wear pink." Bucky said, shrugging.
As Bucky left the room, Wanda grabbed her bag and walked over to bathroom, seeing that the door was closed. Sighing, Wanda walked over towards the couch and quickly started changing, first putting on the shorts and her bra.
As Wanda put on the crop top, she struggled to reach the zipper, pain firing off in her arms every time she stretched them that way. Wanda struggled to even move her legs too much without pain. Maybe she overdid it yesterday during training.
As Wanda struggled, Vision walked in with two cups of coffee. When Vision looked over at Wanda, he jumped slightly, quickly closing his eyes. "Sorry... I totally didn't-"
"It's fine." Wanda said, walking closer to Vision, moving her hair out of the way of the zipper and exposed the back of her bra to Vision. "Could you zip me up? My arms hurt like crazy and I can't reach the zipper without my arms hurting."
"Um... Yeah." Vision said, setting down the coffee cups. He gently grabbed the zipper, Wanda tensing up slightly when she felt one of Vision's fingers accidentally graze her skin. After a few seconds, Vision said, "Okay... It's zipped up."
Wanda turned around, smiling as she took the hairtie off of her wrist and quickly started braiding her hair. "Thanks."
"You're welcome." Vision said, his face turning bright red. Vision turned around, grabbing one of the coffee cups and handed it to Wanda. "Here. This one's for you."
"You know I don't do coffee."
"That's why it's hot chocolate. I had to track down cinnamon for it, but-"
"You tracked down cinnamon for me?" Wanda asked, a bit surprised.
Vision nodded. "It's what you like in your hot chocolate."
Wanda felt herself start to blush as she almost took a sip of the hot chocolate. "Thank you."
"You're welcome."
"For the record... Tracking down cinnamon is officially the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me."
"The bar is SO LOW."
Wanda laughed, smirking to herself. As Vision took a sip of his tea, he asked, "Are you nervous about today?"
"A little..." Wanda admitted. "But... We'll be fine."
Vision laughed, rolling his eyes. "Your stubborn optimism amazes me every single day."
"As is my aim." Wanda said, jokingly bowing to Vision.
"What are you two doing?" Pietro asked as he walked into the room.
"Just talking." Wanda said quickly.
"Yeah... Just talking." Vision agreed.
Pietro looked at what his sister was wearing and asked, "What the hell are you wearing?"
"Ask Natasha. She was the one who picked out my outfit." Wanda answered. "I should be able to fight in it."
"I don't like this fighting idea."
"Well, nobody asked you for your opinion this morning." Wanda said, grabbing her hot chocolate and took a sip. The chocolaty drink bruned Wanda's tongue as soon as it made contact. Wanda swallowed the drink, then stuck out her tongue. Wanda said, letting the cool air cool her tongue, "Ith hot."
"You always do this!" Vision said, laughing. "You always take a sip of your hot chocolate when it's too hot!"
"You thaid that thou thearched for thinnamon!" Wanda argued, keeping her tongue out. "I thought this thas cooled thown!"
"Not that cooled down!" Vision said, shaking his head. "I think that we have some ice in the freezer. Do you want me to get you an ice cube?"
"Thes pleathe." Wanda said, Pietro leaning against the wall.
"You two have a history." Pietro commented.
"Well, Clint wasn't the only one stationed to protect one of you." Vision said, grabbing a plastic cup and put a single ice cube inside of it.
"So... You were sent to protect my sister?"
"Not that she really needed me. Your sister is a fast thinker... When the situation calls for it."
"That's thude." Wanda pouted as Vision handed her the cup with the single ice cube.
"Well, where was the fast thinking when we were kids?" Pietro asked.
Wanda glared at Pietro as she took the ice cube out of the cup and put it into her mouth. Vision smirked as he asked, "Better?"
Wanda nodded, giving Vision a big thumbs up. Pietro rolled his eyes as he said, "God, can you two flirt later?"
Vision tilted his head. "We're not flirting. I've never flirted with anyone before in my entire life."
Wanda looked down at her feet as she grabbed her hot chocolate, taking a cautious sip of her drink. Pietro noticed Wanda grow quiet as he said, walking to the bathroom, "May wanna tell my sister that."
Vision glanced over at Wanda and cautiously asked, "You okay?"
"Yeah. I have no idea what he's talking about." Wanda lied, setting down her cup. "Hey, can I borrow your burner?"
"Why?"
"Well, I should probably call my roommate and let her know that I'm alive at some point." Wanda said, slightly smirking as she got off of her stool. "And since I can't use my own phone-"
Vision sighed, getting out the small flip phone in his pocket and handed it to Wanda. "Remember to keep-"
"The call short, I know, calm down." Wanda said, taking the phone as she walked over to the big window and dialed Agatha's number.
As soon as Wanda dialed the number, Agatha picked up. "Hello? Who is this!?"
"Hey Ags..."
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, LENSHERR?" Agatha asked angrily. "I'VE BEEN CALLING YOU NONSTOP FOR DAYS!"
"It's a long story..." Wanda admitted.
As Wanda talked to Agatha, Vision watched from his spot at the counter, realizing that his eyes were drifting down to Wanda's butt and torso. She always wore baggy clothes, so Vision honestly forgot she was so skinny. Vision forced his eyes to concentrate on her back, but every few moments he felt his eyes drift back down. Vision grabbed his tea and took a sip, attempting to avert his gaze. Natasha walked in and stood next to Vision at the counter, noticing how he was staring at Wanda. Natasha lightly elbowed Vision and asked, "See something you like?"
Vision jumped, then shook his head. "What? No."
"Really, because your eyes have drifted to Wanda's ass at least ten times during this entire conversation, which is usually a tell that guys like a girl." Natasha commented. "Well... That, and he triangulates between looking at the butt and the breasts."
"Can you not?" Vision grumbled.
"Nobody would blame you for having a crush on her, Victor. She's adorable."
"I don't have a crush on her. She's a friend." Vision said defensively. "And even if I did have a crush on her, which I don't, it would never work between us. She's a princess for crying out loud. Chances are, once her brother gets crowned, she's going to be forced to marry some rich aristocrat from who knows where, which I know she doesn't want to do, but she doesn't really have a choice, as far as we know."
"I saw you do that kiss move a few days ago. You got that from me."
"The people who were after her were looking at us, Natasha."
"Keep telling yourself that." Natasha said, grabbing the plastic cup Vision had put Wanda's single ice cube in earlier. "All I'm trying to say is that 'just friends' don't look at each other the way you're looking at Wanda. You gotta figure out what you want and go for it without any hesitation."
Natasha walked to the fridge to pour herself a glass of water. Vision's gaze drifted back to Wanda as she finished up the phone call. He had always thought that Wanda was beautiful, he doubted that anyone would fight with him over that, but he only allowed himself to see her a friend because he knew that she would, at one point or another, have to go back to her kingdom. However, having gone to class with her for the past year, having spent time with her... It was clear that Vision had grown attached to her. While that attachment probably wouldn't work out well for anyone, Vision wasn't entirely sure how deep that attachment for Wanda went.
"Well, be careful, okay?" Agatha said gently.
"I will." Wanda said exhaustedly. "Bye Ags."
"Bye." Wanda hung up on Agatha as soon as she said goodbye, then walked over to Vision.
Vision carefully took the phone and stuffed it back into his pocket. "How was Agatha?"
"Fine. She's worried. I told her I'd be back at the dorms as soon as I could."
"You didn't tell her where you were, right?"
"No, of course not. I'm not that stupid." Wanda said, noticing that Vision's face was a faint pink color. "You okay? You're looking a little red."
"Yeah, I'm fine." Vision said quickly, taking another sip of his tea. Vision loudly said, "Pietro, come on! We gotta get going! We're due at the Colleseum in thirty minutes! We need to get a move on!"
"Yeah, I know." Pietro said, walking out of the bathroom as he looked the least bit interested in what he was about to do. "Let's go break Clint out of enemy hands, mother fuckers."
