part five

Opening up the front door you were met with another bouquet of flowers, a small card and a teddy. Rolling your eyes, with a faint smile, you picked it all up. Trying to find a place for everything seemed like an impossible task. Your tiny house was full of flowers by now, all from Natasha.

You thought that getting over Natasha would be easy, at least you hoped it would've been. But she wasn't making things easy for you. For the last week you had woken up to flowers on your doorstep. Even though you hadn't physically seen Natasha since, knowing the small gesture was from her was enough to ruin any plan you had of icing her out from your life.

The next week you were caught off guard. Waking up to see a flash of a figure out in your garden definitely startled you. But instead of panicking you peeked through the window to see that the figure was just Natasha. Every morning you made a coffee and watched as Natasha would tend to all the vegetables and other plants you had in your garden. You noticed the way you were looking at her again, as if she was the only person in the world. The only person that could bring all your happiness back.

After watching her for a few mornings you noticed she had the same routine. There was a small amount of time each morning when she would take a small break, leaving the garden and your property. In the time when Natasha was gone, you would slip outside and leave an iced tea and a sandwich for her to return to.

Natasha smiled when she saw the iced tea and sandwich. This gesture from you was enough to motivate Natasha to keep going. She hoped that one day soon instead of the food waiting for her, you would be there waiting for her. You thought you'd been subtle about watching Natasha, though you couldn't subtly watch a trained spy. Natasha saw you every day, noticing the way that you smiled so bright and the softness in your eyes as you gazed at her.

You were struggling with yourself, your mind and your heart. There was part of you that didn't think Natasha deserved a second chance, that you could live without her. But then there was another part that appeared every time you saw her. It was like the first time all over again. The butterflies you felt. The way you couldn't tear your eyes from her. All the time you spent thinking about her.

There wasn't a moment in your day anymore that wasn't filled with thoughts of Natasha. Yet every time you placed the food down and left, you couldn't ignore how torn you were. You hadn't noticed that you were breaking your own heart every day. Until you decided to listen to your heart. You couldn't ignore the happiness you remembered from being with Natasha.

Natasha was pleasantly surprised when she returned to find you had laid out a blanket along with not one but two sandwiches and iced teas. You gave Natasha an inviting smile and patted the spot next to you. Natasha sat down giving you space which you instantly closed. Your shoulders brushed and rested together, making you both smile. Your heart was racing. It hasn't beaten this fast for anyone. Only for Natasha.

Taking a deep breath to steady your thoughts you handed Natasha a sandwich. Your hands brushed together causing you to blush slightly. Natasha slightly smirked your reaction, she still had the same effect on you. Instantly pulling your hand away, you gave her a small smile and ate in silence.

Not wanting to be hurt, you were going to take things slowly. The first few times you both ate in silence. Sharing small touches and glances. Not long after you made the advancement to small talk. Hearing Natasha's voice was your weakness. After hearing it again, you never wanted her to stop talking.

'Natasha, wait,' You ran out of your house. You couldn't stand to see her leave again. Not after the day you both had shared together, 'Stay. Please,' Stopping within arms reach of Natasha you held out your hand.

'Are you sure?' Natasha whispered out staring at your hand. She had hoped for this moment, but hadn't expected you to let her back in so soon.

'I haven't been more sure,' Natasha slid her hand into yours. Your hand in hers had never felt so right. You had almost forgotten everything that had led both of you to this point.

As you led Natasha inside your house she could feel you become tense and felt you start to panic slightly, 'Hey, Y/N/N, look at me,' You turned around not making eye contact with Natasha. She gently cupped your cheeks and held your face in her hands. You let your eyes close for a moment, leaning into Natasha's touch, 'I'm not going anywhere unless you want me to. I'm really sorry for the way I treated you. I should never have let you leave and I am deeply sorry for what I put you through. But trust me, detka, when I tell you that you are all I want. I have never been so sure. You are my world, my happiness. I would spend the rest of my life making this up to you if it meant I got to keep you in it. Love, you are my happy ending,'

Tears were streaming down your face, you couldn't help but smile. Your heart only beat for Natasha. Natasha was the one person who could make you feel wanted and loved. She was the only person you hoped to be wanted and loved by. Your mind had finally made the choice to side with your heart. If you were going to be happy, you were going to be happy with Natasha.

'You make it so hard to stay mad at you, especially since I'm still so in love with you,' You were willing to let Natasha back in, to give her another chance. Hoping she wouldn't break your heart for a second time.
