These are being written in chronological order so it makes the most sense when read in order.
Note
If you haven't read the first and second part of this series I would highly encourage you do so before you read this part. Thank you for reading.

The first few months of school had gone the same way they do every year. Teachers went over some introductory material that they swear everyone should have been taught last year. Students struggling to get back into the swing of balancing homework, extra curriculars and a social life. Enid was right in her element.

She figured out at a young age that if she wasn’t going to be a good wolf, she would be exceptional in every other area of her life. This semester though she has decided to tone it down a bit with all the clubs and organizations in favor of getting a little more time with her girlfriend.

They have fallen into a bit of a routine since returning to school. Wednesday wakes before her and while Enid gets a few more minutes of sleep she usually goes downstairs to get herself coffee and Enid some tea. It’s a sweet gesture that has the blond thanking her with a kiss to the cheek most days. Enid leaves the shorter girl sweet little notes on her desk and bedside table. Notes that say things like. “You have a wonderful mind, don’t over think it.” and “Your braids looked extra beautiful today.” and “I really like you.”

That last one was left on her cello case a couple days ago and Wednesday blushed a pretty crimson when she found it. She doesn't make a big deal out of it, but it means a lot to her when she notices that Wednesday never throws the notes away, she has them all in her desk drawer, safely tucked away.

They hold hands sometimes when they are walking to class. Not every day but enough for the whole school to know that they are together by the end of the first week. In the classes they do share together Wednesday claims the seat next to her immediately. Something that Yoko grumbles about for a while but she quickly gets over it when Wednesday sends a glare her way.

Friday nights are their designated girlfriend nights. Neither of them has any other obligations besides Wednesday’s writing hour so once she finishes that they spend the rest of the evening together. They take turns picking movies to watch on Enid’s laptop but in Wednesday’s bed. Enid claims it’s due to the darkness of that side of the room, which is better for the movie watching experience, it’s actually because Wednesday’s sheets smell like her.

Wednesday doesn't complain, she simply pulls Enid a little closer and sits through the torture that is whatever romantic comedy the other girl has chosen.

They don’t always watch movies on what Enid is now calling “Date Night.” They also go for walks sometimes out onto the property surrounding Nevermore. They have to be sneaky about it and the adrenaline of getting caught is something that used to scare Enid but now that she has Wednesday, she isn’t sure there is much that could scare her. Other nights they sit together on blankets that have been laid out on the balcony and they read.

It’s something that Enid would have never imagined herself finding enjoyable with anyone else, but Wednesday isn’t like anyone else. She’s unique and weird and beautiful and protective. Wednesday is everything she didn’t know that she needed. Wednesday is someone she never would have thought herself worthy of but here they are.

Wednesday has perfect posture as she sits with her back against one of the columns, a worn book in her hands. It must be one of her favorites, the way the spine easily yields to her touch. Enid’s own book lays forgotten in her lap as she watches Wednesday with an adoring smile.

“I can feel you staring.” The voice didn’t even surprise her, she knew she wasn’t being subtle about her staring. Now that they are dating, she doesn't have to hide her attraction. “Can you blame me.” Wednesday finally lowers her book and looks over at her. When their eyes meet Enid feels her heart start beating double time. She wonders if she’ll ever get used to the way Wednesday stares at her.

She thinks about it for a moment more before she decides that she doesn't ever want to get used to this feeling of tidal waves roaring in her chest. “Is your book not interesting?” Wednesday reaches forward plucking the book out of her lap and flipping it over to read the description on the back.

“It’s an alright book I just got a little distracted is all.” Wednesday hums in acknowledgement and then hands the book back. “What has distracted you? Besides me, I mean.” Enid breaks their eye contact by looking at the blanket beneath them instead. She reaches a hand out to gently tangle her fingers with Wednesday’s, she needs the extra strength right now.

“This year is going to be the first birthday I spend without my family. It was never a spectacle when I was home either but at least my brothers were there. We would have a cake and the boys would blow up balloons. My mom would spend the whole day disappointed that another year had passed, and I hadn’t turned. My dad would give me a card and a couple gifts.” She tries her best not to cry and takes a couple of deep breaths before continuing.

“I hate my mother I do. But I miss my brothers, they could be annoying sure, all family is sometimes. My dad isn’t a saint either, but he saw me for who I was, and he tried. He genuinely tried. I think it just started to sink in that I won’t ever be allowed to go home again.” Wednesday stayed silent just squeezing Enid’s hand occasionally in support.

“Enid my love, is there any way you could still contact your brothers even if they still live with your mom? I’m almost positive that they would share your feelings and would want to reach out.” Enid feels some hope rising in her at the thought of her siblings missing her just as much as she misses them.

“I wouldn’t want them to get in trouble for talking to me. Two of my brothers, the twins I told you about, Eli and Eric, are supposed to be coming here next year but I doubt my mom would allow that now. Ethan moved out a couple of years ago though so I’m not sure what my mom has told him. We were never really close.” Wednesday nods listening attentively.

“What about the youngest?” Enid can still picture her youngest brother’s face that last time she saw him. It’s been over six months and she misses him fiercely. “She’s never going to let me see Emmet ever again, much less speak to him. He still too young to have a phone anyways.” She wonders if maybe one day when they’re all older if her brothers will take her side in all of this or if she’ll be disowned by everyone.

“I think you underestimate how many people truly care for you Enid. If they feel for you even a fraction of what I do, they will reach out. Consequences be dammed.” Wednesday pulls her into a tight hug holding her and rubbing her back in soothing circles.

W&E

When she gets a phone call three days later from Ethan, she can’t help but think that Wednesday must have had something to do with it. The dorm is empty, so she sits on her bed and answers after the third ring. “Hey kid.” Her brother’s voice still sounds the same. Deep and calming kind of like their dad’s.

“Hey, so I guess you already know what happened?” Ethan lets out a sigh on the other end of the phone. “I’m sorry Enid I know mom has always been the hardest on you and it isn’t fair. But I’m kind of glad you didn’t end up with that guy she picked as your intended mate. He was an ass; you would’ve hated him.” She laughs a little at this, glad they are on the same page.

“I’m seeing someone. A girl actually. She’s the main reason mom got so angry.” She holds her breath, not sure if Ethan had already been told this part of the story. “If you’re happy then I’m happy. No matter who she is I’m sure she’s already miles ahead of that douche bag.” They both laugh for a moment.

“Her name is Wednesday Addams and her family kind of chased mom all the way to the Delaware border apparently. I know it’s kind of sudden, but I feel more at home with them than I ever did in at our house.” Ethan takes a moment to respond. Enid can almost picture his face, eyebrows scrunched in the same way hers do.

“An Addams huh? If anyone is worthy of my little sister’s heart, I figure an Addams is. But if she ever hurts you, I will personally fight her to the death. It will most likely be to my death, but the point still stands.” She chokes up a little bit touched by her brother's kind words; she even manages a watery laugh at the last thing he says.

“She won’t hurt me. Not intentionally anyways. I will pass your threat along thought she’ll probably find it amusing.” Her brother laughs at this, it takes him a moment to gather himself and respond. “Please do. By the way I wanted to wish you a happy early birthday. I hope I got the right address for your school you should be receiving a little gift in a few days.” After hearing this she does cry.

It startles her brother who tries to calm her down through the phone more than a little confused. When she can finally speak without her voice cracking, she explains herself. “I just wasn’t expecting this you know, the phone call, the gift, your support.” Ethan stays quiet, probably making sure that she’s done talking.

“Enid I should have protected you. I was the oldest, it was my responsibility, and I ran as soon as I could. I knew what kind of a person mom was and I left you guys to fend for yourselves. I’m truly sorry. I would like the chance to make it up to you.” She suddenly wishes this was a face time so that she could see her brother, it’s been much too long.

“I forgive you Ethan. You did what you had to do to protect yourself and I could never blame you for that. I think if I were you, I would have done the same thing.”

They talk for another twenty minutes hitting on subjects a lot lighter than their family and all the trauma that comes with it. Enid tells him about school and what she's thinking about doing after she graduates. Even though that’s still far away. Ethan tells her about New York and his photography internship. Something he’s been hiding from their parents, still a little scared to disappoint them. They apparently think he’s doing construction.

Enid asks if he’ll send her some of his photos excited to have a common interest with the brother she never really got to know. She wouldn’t call herself a photographer by any means, but she does know how to snap a good photo or two for her blog.

They hang up with promises of a biweekly call to check in on one another and Enid feels lighter than she ever has.

W&E

Wednesday took great care in making herself scarce for a couple of hours giving her girlfriend privacy to speak with her older brother. It hadn’t been hard to get his number from Enid’s phone and give him a call. The eldest Sinclair sibling had informed her that after he moved out his mother asked him not to speak to Enid, the reason being that she needed to focus on wolfing out. He admitted that it was cowardly to listen to a woman who had practically no say in his life anymore, but old habits die hard.

Wednesday had then relayed the events of the last few months and all but demanded the young man call his sister. Wednesday would do anything to see the other girl happy and if threatening more of her family is all that it takes, she would happily do so. She also stopped by Yoko’s room to let the pale girl know not to disturb the blonde.

“Are you going soft Addams?” The teasing vampire was met with a knife lodged in her door, just an inch from her face. Wednesday headed to the library without another word. She had been trying to plan the perfect gift for Enid’s birthday, but she was coming up blank. It was unlike the Addams heir to fail at anything much less romance.

If she’s being honest with herself, she knows exactly what she wants to get for Enid, but it would be impractical. Enid had said it herself before the school year had started it’s not like they could fit a baby grand piano in their dorm room. But what if they could?

Wednesday got to work drawing out their current room and started brainstorming different ways in which they could rearrange the furniture to make such an accommodation. It was plausible but then there was the issue of getting the piano to Nevermore and up the stairs to their dorm.

She may need to give her parents a call. Usually, she would want to handle something like this on her own, but this is for Enid, and it needs to be perfect.

W&E

By the time Wednesday had made it back to their room Enid was ready to sleep. Between early classes and the emotionally draining phone call she was beyond tired. Wednesday looked her over, her gaze softening slightly. “If you would like I am not opposed to sharing a bed tonight.” Enid grins at her and practically runs to the other side of the room making herself comfortable under Wednesday’s covers.

Wednesday goes through her nightly routine not skipping a single step before joining her sleepy girlfriend. When they’ve both gotten comfortable enough to relax Enid breaks the silence. “I don’t know what you did but thank you Willa.” Her voice is quiet in the dark room but Wednesday hears every word.

“Anything for you.” She pairs the statement with a kiss to the taller girl's forehead. They fall asleep quickly after that to the sounds of each other’s breathing.

W&E

Her parents were proving themselves very useful for once. All she had to do was keep Enid distracted for nearly the whole day and everything would go off without a hitch. This is a task that Wednesday believes she could have done with her eyes closed but Enid is proving to be quite unpredictable.

The day before her birthday when Wednesday asks her what she wants to do the blonde girl uncharacteristically states that she’d like to stay in and watch movies. This is the worst answer she could have possibly received. Literally anything else would have been favorable. The only place Enid can’t be on her birthday is their room for reasons that Wednesday cannot tell her.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place Wednesday is forced to ask for backup. Backup comes in the form of Yoko, Divina, Ajax, Bianca, Eugene and Divina’s twin who Wednesday has now learned is named Kent. They are more than happy to help her keep Enid away from their dorm for the day.

It wasn’t hard to convince them seeing as everyone loves Enid and they’re still scared of Wednesday. It’s a win-win situation really. Together they come up with a plan that will keep the blonde both distracted and happy. A shopping trip in Jericho and a little bonfire in the woods once the sun sets. Wednesday thinks for a seventeenth birthday these plans are adequate. After all she will have the rest of their lives to really sweep Enid off of her feet.

The morning of Enid’s birthday, Wednesday gets up earlier than usual to put the plan in motion.

W&E

When Enid wakes up Wednesday is already gone which is unusual seeing as it’s a Saturday. The shorter girl never sleeps past seven a.m. but on Saturdays she’s usually a little more relaxed in her routine. She doesn't have to wonder long about where her girlfriend could have possibly gone this early in the morning. The door is creaking open, and the shorter girl is carrying a tray that must be at least a little heavy the way her arms are bending to keep it up.

Thing is scuttling at her feet; Enid assumes he must have helped her open the door with her hands already preoccupied. “Good morning, Willa.” Wednesday makes her way over placing the tray at the end of her bed. Now that she can get a good look at it, she wants to tease her wonderful girlfriend for being so romantic.

The tray has every breakfast food imaginable and a vase full of flowers. There are pancakes, fruits, eggs, both scrambled and one sunny side up, among other morning time classics. When she finally looks up at the shorter girl, she appears more bashful than Enid has ever seen before. She stands, putting herself into Wednesday’s space willing her to make eye contact.

She does so after just a moment and Enid knows she must look like a mess having just woken up but Wednesday looks at her like she is a piece of art. Like she is someone worth admiring. “Happy Birthday cara mia.” The blond raises her hands up a silent way of asking for permission. Wednesday closes the space between them indulging her.

They stand there for a minute before her stomach reminds her that there's food nearby. She gets Wednesday to eat some of the breakfast even though she complains much of it is too sweet for her liking. Her favorite moment though is when she convinces the shorter girl to feed her some of it. She had asked nicely with pouty lips and round eyes. Enid had to throw in that it was her birthday before she relented and stabbed a couple of strawberries onto a fork, bringing it to Enid’s lips.

After everything on the plate had been demolished and the vase had been moved to her bedside table Wednesday began urging her to get ready. “I told you I wanted to just stay in. Have a chill movie day.” It’s incredibly confusing that her girlfriend would be the one to want to go out especially when she had already made it clear that she just wanted a low-key birthday this year.

“I heard you, but I need you to trust me. Can you do that Enid?” Her trust in Wednesday is as natural as breathing at this point, so the wolf simply nods her head in the affirmative and starts getting dressed.

Once they get outside in front of the school all of her friends are already there waiting for them. Enid lets out a squeal in excitement and hugs everyone quickly. “What’s going on what are you guys doing?” All her friends are wearing different sized smiles, clearly pleased they could surprise the blond.

“We are taking you out for your birthday.” Yoko punctuates her statement with a soft pat to the wolf’s back and they are on their way.

W&E

The bus ride into Jericho isn’t long and Wednesday cannot find it within herself to complain when Enid looks so happy bouncing in her seat beside her. They decide once they get into town that it would be best to stick together.

Enid interlocks their fingers the second she gets and chance to and she doesn't let go until they sit down to eat lunch. They had already gone through most of what Jericho had to offer by the time Enid’s stomach started grumbling.

The Weathervane was the closest option so regardless of Wednesday’s aversion to it they had no choice. She had to admit the food wasn’t terrible and with the distinct absence of who Yoko likes to refer to as “a curly headed twink wanna be” the company isn’t half bad either. She hadn’t thought about Tyler much since the Hyde incident but being here is bringing back memories she would like to burn from her mind forever.

As if sensing her discomfort Enid drops one of her hands to her thigh, running her thumb back and forth over the fabric of her skirt. Wednesday wants to scold herself for being so gloomy on the one day of the year that’s supposed to be all about her beloved. She could feel Enid’s eyes on the side of her head, but she refused to look her way, already knowing what would be hiding in the depths of her eyes.

Enid leans in closer, lips right against the sensitive shell of her ear. “Are you alright?” The whisper is impressive coming from one of the loudest people Wednesday knows. Enid had pulled back slightly the moment the question was out of her mouth. This time Wednesday does look at her, she tries her best to convey everything through her eyes. When all she gets back is concern in her favorite pair of blue eyes, she figures a verbal response would be better.

“I am weighing the pros and cons of leaving Ajax here.” She hopes the attempt at humor will ease her girlfriend’s mind. She gets a slap to the shoulder in response and a scoff that leaves her feeling grateful for having such a wonderful partner. “Don’t be mean Wednesday, he has been on his best behavior.” She has a point, Wednesday finds his presence much more tolerable now that she and Enid have become an official pair.

“Fine he can stay but only because it’s your birthday.” The conversation over lunch is loud and obnoxious in a way only a group of teenagers can manage. Wednesday does her best to chime in when she finds the topic interesting enough. Enid steals glances at her every once and a while and keeps her hand firmly placed on her thigh, thumb still gliding lightly.

When the others decide to hit the restroom before they move on to their next destination, Enid takes the opportunity to thank her once more. “I know hanging out with my friends isn’t your favorite thing, so it means a lot that you’re doing all this just for my birthday.” Wednesday lets her finish speaking before she takes her face in both of her hands forcing her to maintain eye contact.

“Mi amore spending time with you even at the expense of having to also spend time with the imbeciles you call friends will always be sweet torture to me. I would do this for you even if it wasn’t the day of your birth because you are worth all of this and so much more.” Wednesday isn’t one for public displays of affection, but she finishes her mini rant with a soft kiss to Enid’s lips.

Enid looks a little dazed when they separate but there is no time to dwell on it as the rest of their rag tag group comes barreling out of the café. Yoko spots them first a mischievous grin spreading across her face immediately. “Hey, you two, get a room already.” The others laugh a little before they notice Wednesday’s glare.

“I didn’t know you were that dense Tanaka; we already share a room.” Ajax makes a motion of hurting his hand against Yoko’s arm. “Oh burn!” Divina lets out a belly laugh at this and wraps her arm lightly around her girlfriends in consolation. Wednesday won’t tell him, but Enid’s former boyfriend just earned a few points in her book.

They wander around town for another couple of hours before it’s time to catch the bus again. Enid rests her head against Wednesday’s shoulder for a majority of the ride and the shorter girl welcomes the closeness in a way she never thought she would.

W&E

Enid had expected that when they got back to the school, they would part ways and she could enjoy the rest of her birthday relaxing in bed with Wednesday. She had even contemplated the many ways in which she could get Wednesday to agree to watch a movie with her. Which is why she was so caught off guard when all her friends stayed standing together minutes after the bus had already left.

She is about to ask about their strange behavior but everyone as if following silent cues begin to make their way in the opposite direction of the dorms and Enid is forced to follow, being gently pulled by Wednesday’s cold hand. No one says anything as they make their journey to wherever they are going. It kind of reminds Enid of her first date with Wednesday.

After walking for what couldn’t have been more than two miles they stopped in a moderately wooded area. There are logs that have been overturned to sit on and a fire pit that is full but not yet on fire. Enid is now clued into what is going on and she lets out an excited squeal. “Are we having a bonfire?”

Bianca looks amused and Yoko nods in the affirmative. Ajax walks off to grab a few things with Kent, Enid assumes matches and such to start the fire. Eugene is grabbing other things from another bush. When he comes back Enid can see they are presents, all wrapped in blue and pink paper with sparkly ribbon tied around them.

Wednesday lets go of her hand to wander just a few feet away where there is another bag that she picks up and brings over. “I thought you might enjoy a bonfire and to construct some s’mores.” Just when she thinks her girlfriend can’t get any more perfect, she plans the best birthday she has ever had.

Enid plants a quick kiss to Wednesday’s cheek and then turns to all her friends with tears in her eyes. “Thank you guys you have made this a birthday to remember.” Divina squeezes her arm and grabs the bag from Wednesday. Eugene placed all the gifts on the log closest to Enid and Ajax has the fire going pretty strong.

She’s almost overcome with the love she feels for all of her friends and her wonderful girlfriend. Divina and Bianca busy themselves with preparing all the ingredients for the s’mores and Eugene has joined Ajax in stoking the fire.

“You can open your gifts now if you’d like, while there’s still enough daylight to see them.” Wednesday gestures with her hand to the pile of gifts on the log in front of her. Enid would usually be bursting at the seams to open any kind of gift but for the moment she kind of just wants to let everything soak in.

“Maybe later, I can see in the dark anyways.” Enid raises her shoulders and drops them in a halfhearted shrug while her girlfriend turns red beside her. “How long have you been able to see in the dark?” The question comes through gritted teeth and if Enid didn’t know any better, she would think that Wednesday sounds a bit embarrassed.

“Not that long. Just since I turned.” Wednesday, seemingly satisfied with Enid’s answer walks off to correct Ajax on his fire making abilities. Yoko appears at her side in an instant like a cold cloud of smoke.

“I didn’t peg Addams as the romantic type, must be something about you that brings it out of her.” She knows Yoko is teasing but for just a minute she considers letting her know about just how romantic her girlfriend really is. She glances at the bracelet that she hasn’t taken off from the moment she received it and lets out a soft sigh.

“You have no idea.” Enid spends the next hour or so joking and laughing with her favorite people. They make s’mores and tell ghost stories (which Wednesday finds so incredibly dull). She eventually gets around to opening her gifts.

She got two new squishmallows from Divina and Yoko, a journal from Eugene that has little bumble bees on the front of it, a new vinyl record from Bianca and a hand drawn card from Ajax and Kent which appropriately depicts a wolf eating cake.

She isn’t entirely surprised that there isn’t anything from Wednesday in the pile, she did plan this whole day out, so it isn’t like she hasn’t put in any effort. Enid also figures the quiet girl could be waiting to give her a gift when they're alone, not one to make grand displays.

After she’s thanked everyone three times over and the fire has slowly dwindled to ash, they decide to make their way back to the dorms. Wednesday had taken her hand the moment the front gates were within view and Enid felt her heart race. She doesn't ever want to get used to this feeling.

The boys break off from the group first wishing everyone a good night. Bianca breaks off next with Divina and they walk with Yoko the rest of the way to her room. At this point Wednesday has to let go of her hand to help her carry her gifts which had previously been divided amongst the group.

When they make it to their door Enid is exhausted. All she wants to do is take a quick shower and then maybe fall asleep in her girlfriend’s bed. Wednesday sets the gifts down and opens the door allowing Enid to go in first. Enid barely picks up her feet as she crosses the dark threshold.

She feels Wednesday getting closer, a cold hand grasps her upper arm lightly. “Happy Birthday Enid.” The words are whispered right into her ear just as the lights are switched on. There in the middle of their room stands Gomez and Morticia and to their left is the most beautiful baby grand piano Enid has ever seen.

Some of their things have been rearranged to make room for the magnificent instrument and Enid loves the symbolism of it all. How they have come together to make something new and beautiful. She rushes into Morticia’s arms first and the woman holds onto her just as tightly.

“Happy Birthday dear.” It’s spoken softly to the top of her head where lips are pressed in a soft kiss to her hair line. She hugs Gomez next, and he nearly crushes her in his grip. Wednesday stands off to the side just watching with the faintest of smiles on her face.

“Thank you for coming and for the piano but you didn’t have to do all of this. I’m sure you have more important things to do.” All three Addams grow tense at her words. “You are important to us Enid and we will always make time for you.” Gomez’s tone is strong and leaves no room for argument.

“I would give you the moon if you asked for it cara mia. The piano is the least I could do for the woman who has changed my life like no other ever has and ever will.” Wednesday holds out her hand in a way that is becoming very familiar, and Enid drops her own into it. She feels giddy as Wednesday brings her hand up slowly dropping a delicate kiss to the tops of her knuckles.

“You girls remind me of us when we were your age. Isn’t that right Gomez?” Morticia looks at her husband lovingly, savoring the sight of her only daughter being so vulnerable and open with her beloved.

“You’re right Tish.” The elder Addams stayed for a little while longer. They ask about classes and extra curriculars. They listen to Enid play a couple of songs on her newest prized possession and then they take their leave.

That night Enid got her wish, wrapping up the best birthday she had ever had in a little bow. Once she was done showering Wednesday had already scooted over in bed leaving a space for her. The shorter girl was currently reading a book that Enid didn’t recognize the cover of. She looks so relaxed with her braids out and her oversized shirt wrinkled.

Enid can’t seem to help herself as she gets in bed and immediately places a kiss to Wednesday cheek. She gets comfortable under the blankets, their legs touching in the twin sized bed. “Thank you for everything Willa. This was the best day I think I’ve ever had.” Wednesday takes her time before responding. She closes her book and puts it on the nightstand, finally laying down completely.

“You’re welcome, Enid. I only wish I could have done more.” Enid moves to lay on her side to get a better look at her girlfriend's face. She looks serious, her brows drawn together, and her lips set in a scowl.

“Are you kidding? You got my older brother to call me whom I haven’t spoken to in years. You got all of my friends together. You got your parents to come, and you bought me a piano. Plus, breakfast in bed. Wednesday I can’t even begin to truly express my gratitude for you.” The shorter girl didn’t make eye contact with her until she had finished speaking and when their eyes met Wednesday must have found what she was looking for.

“I just want you to be happy.” Wednesday’s voice is shakier than normal, and Enid has never seen her this close to tears. Enid gently touches the side of her face rubbing her cheek in a soothing motion. “You make me happier than I have ever been. Look at me Wednesday.” She tries her best to make the command as soft as possible not wanting to pressure the other girl.

“I see the effort you are making, and I appreciate it. I know all of this is new to you and it means a lot that you are willing to get out of your comfort zone for me.” Wednesday lets out a shaky breath but she seems to accept the words for what they are, the truth.

“I don’t know what I could have done in my miserable life to deserve you. But I will spend every day trying to be worthy of your light.” Wednesday hasn’t broken eye contact since Enid had requested it and the taller girl feels every word in the depths of her soul.

“You’re already worthy.” Enid drops a kiss to her girlfriend’s head and snuggles in against her chest. She listens to the other girl’s heartbeat for a while just content to be close. Wednesday holds her just as tightly, something she is sure the other girl would deny if she were ever asked.

She lets the calm rush over her in waves. She may have lost her mother, but she has gained so much more. She’s hit with a sudden realization that what she has with Wednesday is something that will last much longer than their time at Nevermore.

Wednesday had said every day and her parents had already mentioned marriage. This relationship is one that will only grow deeper the longer it goes on and Enid is beyond excited for it all.
