Truth or Dare
“Alright, let’s get this girls’ nights started!” Jude exclaimed passing out wine glasses to everyone, Wanda following closely behind with a bottle of one of Tony’s finest red wine. Natasha and Sharon are already seated on the couch chatting quietly, while Pepper is finishing putting out the hors d’oeuvres.
Jude collapses on the couch next to Natasha with an easy smile and a full glass.
“Easy there, this couch is worth more then your apartment. The wine too now that I think about it.” Natasha says with a small smirk on her face, “We all know how much of a klutz you are and I would hate for you to end up indebted to Tony of all people because you ruined his fourth favorite couch.”
“That is third favorite actually.” Pepper chimes in before sitting down on the love seat across from Natasha, Jude and Sharon. Wanda lets out a tiny chuckle and puts the bottle down on the table. She grabs a handful of Pepper’s signature potato puffs and sits next to Pepper.
“I’m not that much of a klutz. I mean really, you trip down one flight of stairs or lean too far over a balcony once and suddenly I’m a klutz.”
“The balcony happened twice.” Sharon states sipping her wine. Everyone lets out a laugh while Jude rolls her eyes. “I’m just saying I can be graceful when I want to be, its not my fault gravity sometimes has other plans.” Jude replies with shrug.
“Now that we are all settled, let’s get started! Who wants to start?” Jude asks.
“I’ll start… truth or dare… Jude” Wanda states with an eager grin.
“Okay… okay I see how it is. Gang up on me why don’t ya. Hmm…truth please, I’m not drunk enough for dare yet.” Jude states tipping her glass in Wanda’s direction before swiftly bringing it to her lips and downing half the glass in one go.
“What is your biggest regret?” Wanda asks leaning forward and grabbing a few more potato puffs and a spring roll.
“Oh that’s easy! My biggest regret is telling Bucky about Lord of the Rings movies.”
The room falls completely silent for moment before everyone lets out a laugh.
“You can’t be serious, that’s your biggest regret?” Natasha asks glancing over at Jude.
“Completely serious. I told him months ago that the hobbit had three sequels and a prequel and he damn near lost his mind. I bought him the entire book set for his birthday, he read it in like a week. A week! Most people it would take them a month maybe more. Then I made the mistake of showing him the movies, which in case you didn’t know there are six of them. And you know what they are very good, I enjoyed them, the first two or four times we watched them.” Jude lets out a sigh before continuing.
“I love him, I really truly do. But I may kill him. I haven’t been able to watch anything else for the past week. He just keeps restarting them when he finishes. And bless his little nerd heart because every time something happens, he goes ‘you know in the books this happened’ or ‘did you know the actor really did that stunt’ or ‘babe … babe… did you know that Aragorn was the son of Arathorn II and that he was directly in line for the thrones of both Gondor and Arnor.’ and I just … I just want to watch anything else.”
Jude pouts and downs the rest of her glass. Wanda uses her powers to levitate the bottle over to her to refill her glass with a shake of her head.
“I thought for sure you were going to say that time you agreed to help Peter with his college admission essays and somehow you both ended up kidnapped.” Pepper chimes in.
“Or that time you entered a contest to win a date with Sebastian Stan and won.” Natasha quips before reaching for some food.
“What about the time you told Bucky you thought Loki was attractive?” Wanda asks with a smirk that was eerily similar to Natasha’s.
“How about when you decided to enter a drinking contest against two super soldiers and a Norse god?” Sharon asks with a laugh.
“I stand by my answer. Now it’s my turn. Truth or dare … Pepper.” Jude says with a smile.
Pepper looks across the table, stares Jude dead in the eye, downs her entire glass of wine, and says “Dare.”
