"tara carpenter you are so fucked" Mindy giggled at her shorter friend.
"i dont find this funny y'know" tara huffed and folding her arms
"yeah you aree" she sung and poked her in the side causing tara to crack a smile
it was no denying that she had feelings for her childhood bestfriend,amber freeman.She was just too dumb to realize that she liked her untill a few months ago,but she kept it to herself for obvious reasons,untill she had to tell someone,that someone being her other friend mindy meeks-martin.She expected her to be shocked but she came out rambling: "omg tiny carpenter is finally realising her feeling im like a proud gay mother,and dont you worry my dear i will 100% help you get with her because you were practically made for each other,seeing as shes obbsessed with you,and she likes you back" she took a deep breath noticing the blush on her cheeks the whole time,hence them being in the this situation with mindy teasing her and poking her.
tara finally slapped her hand away "are you gonna help me or what?" she grumbled
mindy faked an offended expression "of course what do you take me for?"
tara looked down frowning slightly,what if she rejected her? what if amber just thought she was weird for liking her? what if amber just laughed at her? what if-
she looked up at her friend snapping her fingers in her face.
"come on tar lighten up and stop think about what might happen" she rested a hand on her shoulder.
"but what if i ruin what i already have with her,shes like my favourite person.." she trailed off
"hey,your friendship can survive this little crush you have,like..let her know slowly" mindy smiled
"how do i do that though?" tara cocked her head to the side
"key word:honesty,tell her how you feel because this wont turn into something bigger if you dont show it."
"yeah but its not that easy,to just tell her"
"why not?" mindy raised an eyebrow.
tara hesitated.I mean she already told her this much,but shes so scared.She has never felt this way for someone like this before.ever.But amber was different,she helped tara with the most difficult times in her life like,her dad leaving,then sam,then when her mom started drinking and she welcomed her with open arms for tara to walk into,and she did.
"i cant just tell her mindy.." she sighed "im in love with her."
mindy sat there mouth agape,processing what was just said to her, "what?!" she finally let out.
"okay i didnt MEAN to,it just happened slowly"
"oh dear god" mindy ran a hand through her hair "c'mon tar whats so special about little miss fuckboy?"
thats what mindys nickname was for her,its no secret that amber slept with a lot of people,usually one every party she threw and boy does she enjoy throwing parties,thats how amber got her little status at their school as she was fairly popular.
"just..her smile,her hair,her humour,her hugs,her eyes.." she stopped there for a moment "her eyes mindy..they glow when she speaks to me and i can see all her emotions at once when we talk,they are so beautiful and i get lost in them everyday.." she stopped realizing she was sort of rambling looking up at mindy,
"wow tara youre in deep"
she blushed at that "yeah i know"
"but thanks alot,i had this amazing plan to get you two together but you all 'in love' and shit-" tara interrupted her
"hey youre in love with anika"
"leave MY girlfriend out of this,besides the point,this is about YOUR love life" mindy held an accusing finger at her before carrying on "anyway my plans gonna go to waste because this is bigger than the whole sky"
"i think youre exaggerating a bit" tara stated
"i dont think i am" she shrugged "but i better be best man at your wedding though or i swear to god-"
"youre a woman"
"does it look like i care?" she snapped
tara smiled at her
"speaking of weddings,i see your future wife over there" mindy beamed pointing at the group
"shut the fuck up mindy" tara slapped her again,looking at the few people walking over to them.
amber,anika,liv and chad all joined the two girls with chad and liv at together on an opposite bench while anika sat with mindy pecking her lips while amber sat next to tara draping an arm around the younger girl.
"i missed you" amber smiled at tara pulling her into her body abit,tara tensed a bit at that,which was weird because they did this all the time
"uh-huh,missed you to" she managed to get out.
amber noticed her discomfort and pulled her arm from round her shoulders,tara instantly missed the warmth.
"so what you two talking about?" chad smiled
"taras love life duh" mindy replied "im going to help her get with her crush,well shes in l-"
"thank you mindy" tara smiled staring daggers into her,but she could feel amber shuffle uncomfortably in her seat
"oh no,you asked mindy to help? shes the worse you should have came to me!" liv said to her
"uh- excuse you-" mindy started to argue back
tara smirked at her friends interaction but her attention was diverted to the girl next to her
"so carpenter has a little crush,huh?" amber smirked "who knew"
she blushed hitting her arm slightly
"ow taraa" amber mocked a hurt expression "that reallyy hurt" she drew out the 'really'
"youre a jerk y'know that right?" tara giggled
"yeah a jerk that you love,right?" she cooed
tara stopped giggling and amber noticed that
"yep" she replied awkwardly causing amber to sit there a bit confused by her sudden change.
tara looked at mindy who simply just shook her head almost saying 'really?'.tara knew she was acting weird around her latley,its not her fault that she suddlenly became 1000% more attractive since aclnowledged her feelings,and almost every little thing amber did that used to be normal tara got all weird and awkward.
they all started talking again
"hey where are the other 3?" questioned mindy
the other three are wes,ethan and quinn.
"oh they stopped for frozen yogurt seeing as theyre super weird" anika smiled at her girlfriend
"i will never understand your hatred towards frozen yogurt" chad said slightly concerned
"i agree" liv added
and they all started debating froyo as you do.
during this amber leaned to whisper in taras ear "wanna come to mine later?"
her warm breath against her ear gave tara goosebumps
"im a bit busy but maybe in a day or so" tara whispered back
amber nodded.It was getting late so they all went there separate ways amber walking tara home.
they walked in comfortable silence untill a slight breeze picked up making tara shiver next to her friend,amber slightly looked down frowning.Then she removed her sweatshirt handing it to her.Tara looked up,
"no you dont have to do that" she said
"i know but i want to" she smiled at her.tara slipped the hoodie over her head,slightly messing up her hair while inhaling ambers scent,a slight vanilla smell mixed with some expensive perfume tara guessed,lavender scented.
they stopped outside taras house and she looked up at amber,taking in all her features "you do so much for me amber" she muttered
amber slightly hesitated before placing a hand on her cheek "for you i would fall from grace,just to touch your face" her voice was sort of raspy.
taras knees buckled slightly under ambers gaze,and something shifted in her dark eyes,something about this moment Made tara want lean up and Kiss her,so she leaned ever so slowly forward,fluttering her eyes closed,waiting for amber to close the gap between them and to be engulfed in the warmth
but something stopped them,causing them to jump apart,it was sam opening the door of taras house,and an angry sam was in the doorway.sne raised and eyebrow at her sister.
"ill see you later amber" she smiled awkwardly
amber seemed unfazed by the whole thing "see you soon carpenter" she swiftly hugged her before walking off to her own house.
tara walked through the door heading upstairs
"uh i dont think so tara!" sam called after her "care to explain why little miss fuckboy was this close to sucking ur face off?"
(yes the nickname caught on much to taras dismay)
it was no secret that amber and sam disliked,no hate eachother.eversince sam came back amber treated her like something she stepped on,thinking it wasn't fair of her to just come back out of the blue.
"umm none of your business" tara shot at her.
"well it is youre my sister" sam argued
"well i didnt seem to be your business when you left me alone with a drunk mother" this shut her up and she could see the hurt in her eyes but tara just walked upstairs.
she flopped onto her bed thinking how giddy she felt when amber almost kissed her,it just felt so right.sje got out her phone to text:

its been a few days since ambers and taras almost kiss.they didnt talk about it.at all.
and here they were in a cute little restaurant sat opposite eachother.
"thanks for inviting me out" amber smiled softly
"of course" she replied
they ordered and they started talking about anything and everything,thats what tara loves about their friendship how they can talk so easily. (when taras not an awkward gay mess for her bestfriend)
"soo you gonna tell me about this mystery guy you have a crush on?" amber wiggled her eyebrows at her making tara flush a shade of pink
"oh,uh it's actually a girl" she said sheepishly
this took amber by surprise,almost spitting out her drink
"damn how did i never know you swung that way?"
"never brought it up i guess" tara stated
"so you gonna tell me about her?"
tara stood up "heres my card,get the bill i need the bathroom" and she hurried off
amber was left dumbfounded by that,yet she got the bill (paying herself obviously) and waiting i the drizzle of the rain for tara.
she finally joined her outside and they started walked to taras in the uncomfortable rain.
"the girl i like is really pretty" tara started intriguing amber "she is the best thing in my life and she probably doesn't even know it,she makes my day even if i just see her walk past,and she has the warmest laugh,and the most gorgeous eyes ive ever seen" she looked up at amber who seemed somewhat sad at how much tara liked this "mystery girl".
they stopped walking in the rain facing each other,their hair sticking to their faces.
"and i love them.." tara said "im in love with her amber"
"well...i hope she treats you right you deserve the be-" she was interrupted
"im in love with her,and they are my best friend and they are standing right in front of me" tara looked up expectantly
ambers face was full of colour either due the the cold or taras words.Tara wrapped her arms around her neck leaned up and mumbled against ambers now wet hair "i dont want you like a best friend,amber" and pulled back.
amber gazed at her softly cupping her face, "i thought you would never say those words" she muttered
something in the air moved,and tara could see all of ambers emotions in the yellow glow of the street lamps and the pale shine of the moonlight.Ambers perfume made tara feel dizzy as she leaned into amber embrace lifting her head kissing her.Their hearts beat as one as amber glided her tongue over taras bottom lip,opening it slightly whiled her hands caressed her jawline,her thumb rubbing in softly.Tara deepened the kiss by holding the back of her head.they pulled apart,foreheads touching,breathing heavily.as taras eyes opened amber pressed a kiss to her neck murmured against her skin,
"i only bought this dress so you could take it off"
they wondered home slowly,dancing in the rain,twirling eachother around lovingly.Tara got a picture of amber clumsily kissing her,half ending up on her cheek the other almost on her middle of her mouth and sent it to mindy
