Unstoppable (The Score)
“Dad!” Jonathan Kent took two steps, but his older brother held him back with a Look. He shook his head, not yet.
Jon swallowed, trying to keep himself in check. Down below them, their father was lying motionless, bathed in a sick green glow. Jordan looked at Jon, then, grabbed him by the arm and gently brought him down to the floor-then shoved him to the side as a blast of laser fire came at them both. Jon rolled and came up to get his brother’s back as Jordan swung a fist at the villain of the week who’d thought he’d seen to the end of Superman.
The man blew backwards, and Jon ran forward, knocking the offending green rocks from their father. “Dad!” he said again.
Clark’s eyes fluttered open, and he looked up into the worried eyes of his two sons. “Jon? Jordan. What-”
“Talk later,” Jordan suggested, standing with a confidence Clark knew had been in his son all along. “Rescue first.”
