Summary
Emotionless is a word people would use to describe me. I once believed it was true. Not anymore. If I was emotionless, how could I love that one person no matter what? How could I love him after everything we've been through? It's simple. Ask the two scientists in the lab. Every living being has emotions. Anyway, I didn't expect to be at this stage of life again. Surrounded by family. And the love of my life. I grew up as the quiet kid. The one who does their best. And gets upset if their best isn't what they expected. Maybe it was the expectations that were set for me, or my fear of failure. But it made me who I am today. It made me more than just Melinda May. This story is set in season 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.DThis is part of a multi sequel. The other woman

We left my old apartment after ordering Chinese food for dinner and eating it. We were still 5 minutes away from the base when Phil's phone rang.

"Can you answer it and tell me who it is?"

I nodded and picked up the non- S.H.I.E.L.D issued phone. The one only Daisy, Fury and herself know of in S.H.I.L.D.
Rosalind. The screen read. Rosalind?

"Phil, who's Rosalind?"

He quickly glanced at me and looked back at the sky.

"She's with the ATCU. Rosalind Price. I was thinking we should unite against anti- inhumas."

"Oh" I nodded. I answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Phil?"'

"Hello. This is Melinda May. How can I help you?" I could see Phil rolling his eyes at that comment.

"Oh. I didn't know Phil had an assistant. Can I speak to him? If he is free, of course." I rolled my eyes. Yeah, right.

"I'm the second in command. Not his assistant. I'm sorry. Director Coulson and I were taking some personal time. Away from work."

"Wait. You are Melinda May? THE MELINDA MAY? Phil always talks about you. Even when we're in the middle of a briefing. You must be a very special woman. He never treated me like that."

That's because I'm his wife, idiot.

"Well, how about we call you back when we get back to the base. You can stop by whenever you can."

"Of course. In fact, I'm there right now. How long do you think it'll take you to get here?"

Business woman. "We're right above it."

"Ok then. See you there." With that, she ended the call.

I sighed. "What's wrong? Roz annoy you? Even I can't do that."

Wait... ROZ? Probably just a co-worker thing. "Yeah. Turns out business women get on my nerves faster than somebody calling me the Cavalry." I looked at him, "She is also meeting us at the base. Right now."

Phil sighed. "So much for family time."

"So much yet so less."

"Rosalind!"

Phil walked toward Rosalind as a stood back and examined the woman. She looked like Edna from the Incredibles. Got the Bob haircut. And all business.

"Phil." She looked at me and examined me, "Agent May."

I realized that I wasn't in my my combat uniform and Phil wasn't wearing his suits. I nodded, not wanting to acknowledge the dresscode for high ranking agents.

I gulped as I felt a wave of nausea and I rushed to the nearest washroom. I could hear Phil's worried words but couldn't make out what he was saying. I bent over the toilet to throw up as Phil held back my hair. This is going to be harder than we thought.

"Guys?" Daisy, "You okay? Rosalind called me."

I wiped my mouth and flushed the toilet. I looked and Phil and we nodded at each other. We have to tell her.

"Yeah. We'll be right there." Phil called out and slightly smiled at me.

"Guys," Daisy looked between the two of us, "What's wrong?"

"We're,-" Phil and I shared a quick glance and nodded. "I'm,-"

I sighed, "You're going to be a big sister."

Daisy's eyes widened dramatically. If it weren't for the situation we were currently in, I would have laughed.

"You're,-"

"I am."

"She is."

"How,- how long?"

"About 4 weeks. The doctor said that the baby is healthy."

Daisy's POV

I couldn't speak. I couldn't handle all the feelings that were flowing through my body at the moment. I was going to be a big sister. By blood. Not that blood mattered more than love or anything. It just feels so nice to finally have a family.

"May I?" I reached my hand out towards May's flat belly.

I glanced at May, who hesitantly nodded.

"Hey, there, little one. I'm your sister. Your actual sister. I love you. I can't wait for you to actually be here." I smiled.

May's POV

I smiled as I heard Daisy talk to the baby. Of course the baby couldn't hear her. But the affection made me want to hug Daisy. Instead, I chose to stated the truth.

"The baby can't hear you, Daisy."

Oh, how I wanted to kick myself for that. Breaking her heart. Again.

"I know." Daisy smiled, "it's just nice knowing that I have an actual family. The one with parents and siblings and grandparents." She stopped and looked between me and Phil, "I do have grandparents, right?"

I nodded, "From my side, yes. They don't know about you yet though."

"Okay." She smiled, "so, do I call you Mom and Dad now?"

"You can if you want."

"Daisy, you mind if I talk to Phil in private?"

"Sure. I'm going to go eat something."

Daisy left the room after that, leaving me and Phil in silence.

"We have to tell your parents."

"I know."

"They'll be very happy."

"They'll want to visit."

"We have to tell them about their upcoming grandchild too."

"I know."

"Ms. Price is still here, you know."

"Right. I'm going to check what she wants. You want to come with?"

"Nah, I'm fine. I'll stop by your office in 15 minutes to save you from Boredom though."

"OK. Thank you."

He gave me a peck on the cheek and left to meet with Rosalind.

15 minutes later...

I stood outside Phil's office, thinking if I should knock or not. They won't be doing anything private, Melinda.

Deciding between the two options, I barged into the office, just to see Phil push Rosalind out of his face. My eyes widened and I felt my heart crack.

"Hello Agent May." Rosalind said while straightening her white dress.

"Who do you think you are kissing him?"

She huffed, "It's not like you two are together or anything. You're just the Cavalry for him."

That broke my heart. "We're married and have a daughter."

I walked out of the office, heading to the gym. I heard footsteps that were too familiar now. Phil.

"Mel, I can explain."

"Don't. You don't need to. But what I do want you to do is ban Rosalind Price from S.H.I.E.L.D. I don't want her anywhere near you, Daisy or the baby."

He nodded, "Of course. Do you want to come with?"

I nodded.

We walked in silence to Phil's office, where waited an annoyed Rosalind.

"Phil!" She then looked at me and huffed, "Agent Coulson?"

"May-Coulson." I corrected her stoicly.

"Ms. Price, you disrespected our contract. No Relationship between the two participants."

"No I didn't. We don't have a relationship. I just kissed you. That doesn't count."

"I'm asking you to leave, Rosalind."

She huffed, "Whatever, Phil. I'm too good for you anyways."

I waited till Rosalind left the room, and then faced Phil. His face held an apologetic expression which I shook away. I reached up and met him in the middle for a soft kiss.

"Time to call my parents."

Phil sighed, "A man can try."

I rolled my eyes at that.

"Not when it's my parents."
