Remembering Captain
"Bucky, Bucky I've got this." Steve said for the hundredth time. Bucky was leaving on a mission where everyone, except Thor, Natasha, Bruce, and Steve were going. Bucky was worried about leaving her alone with Steve.
They had never left her alone and it had always been the two of them taking care of her, not one.
"Bucky I've got this. I can handle this. You go do your mission. The faster you get it done the faster you come back."
"Okay, okay I'm going to go but before I go-"
"Barnes." Steve said in his Captain voice.
"I'm going! Just make sure she eats because she'll forget, call me before bed, oh and don't mention you-know-who, okay, okay that's all. I'm going now. I'll be back."
"He's like a parent leaving his child for the first time." Natasha laughed as she watched Bucky board the jet but kept looking back. "Don't worry Mr. Barnes, we'll take good care of your little girl."
"Steve, do not let her touch Belle. Steve, I don't trust her. Steve, Steve, STEVE!"
After the team left, Steve, Natasha, and Belle found themselves in the living room watching a movie. Belle curled up and cuddled with Steve. Natasha sat on the other end of the couch. In the scene that they were watching the couple were kissing each other passionately.
"I don't understand." Belle said with a confused face, her brows scrunched together.
"Their kissing." Natasha rolled her eyes. She wasn't that clueless, was she?
"I know, but why? They were just fighting."
"It’s because they love each other and are attracted to each other. Doesn't matter what happens, those two still love each other." Steve explained. Belle turned to face him,
"So you kiss who you love no matter what?"
"Yeah that's basically-" Steve's sentence was cut off with Belle’s lips. As if on instinct Steve wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer as their gentle lips touched. Their lips moved in sync as if they never spent time apart. The flame never faded and never went out.
Oh god, how he missed her. He missed her touch he missed her lips. How he missed her in general. But as quickly as the kiss began it ended.
As they kissed Belle reached behind her but when she found nothing she pulled away and looked behind. She expected someone to be there for some reason she expected Bucky to be there. Instead, she looked back and found nothing Bucky wasn't there. All she found was a smirking Natasha at the other end of the couch. Belle looked back to Steve and ran her thumb over his bottom lip.
"I liked that." She said, then got up and suddenly left.
"What was that?" Natasha asked, trying really hard to keep a straight face.
"Honestly," Steve said, "I have no idea."
