He had known several types of severe abuses and severe neglect before he had been bitten by a radioactive spider.
So before he had even become Spider-Man there had been injuries that had never been able to fully heal not even after he had gotten his powers. So of course those things that had never really gone away still lingered.
Fractured and broken bones... Scars.. illnesses..
Nicky Fury had known more about Peter Parker's history than he let on with the kid when he went to pick young Peter up.
The mandatory check up with a doctor that Nick had to take the kid to only served to confirm the rest that Nick had suspected.
The Director of Shield had a grim face as the doctor laid out for him the details of what all the child has gone through in his young life. Peter looked ashamed and humiliated shrinking in on himself.
This child before him was a hero and this was the life he had suffered?
Nicky Fury was not letting this kid go through that ever again.
Nick waited for the doctor to leave
