Chapter 10
January 5, 2019
It was time.
They had planned it out very well. They knew when to do what. They could take him soon. They had the date set on the seventh of January.
They knew that he would be home that day, but his daughter would be at school.
They could take her and use her as a hostage.

Natalia Rae blinked and lightly shook her head. She frowned and realized she was sitting on the ground, her back against cold metal. She looked down at her legs that were stretched out on the floor. They were tied together. The girl lifted her head up and stared into the dark. It was quite, but she heard a little humming noise. A road. But they weren't driving.
The realization downed on her slowly. She was in the back of the van that had driven up close to her. Someone had stepped out of the van and grabbed her before she could flee.
They had forced her onto her knees and tied her hands and feet together. They had stunned and sedated her.
She blinked and stared at the back of the left front seat. The person who just sat there.
The person she knew and recognized.
Brock Rumlow.

Steve stepped out of the facility and hid behind a few barrels. He watched three black vans pull up in front of the facility.
The doors to the vans slid open and people clad in dark uniforms hopped out. They ran towards the facility, guns pointed at the doors and faces covered by masks.
The people who were in the last van stayed behind. Two of them knelt down in front of the door and covered the other agents' backs.
Steve lowered his head and activated his comm. “Is anyone copying this?”
After a few seconds, a deep voice answered. “Yeah, Corporal is copying. What's happening out there, Captain?”
“We're having guests." Steve answered.
“Wait, what? Why are they already here?" Another voice said.
“Relax, Private." A third voice interrupted, sounding a little annoyed. “No need to get all scared. I've seen them, it's like a dozen of them. We can take 'em out.”
“Wow, thanks, Georgia Man, that helped." Steve said sarcastically. “We'll catch them before they get to the main entrance in the facility. Everyone get there except for Corporal, you need to keep an eye on the upper entrance.”
“Yeah, Georgia Man, go to the main entrance." A fourth voice sounded over the comms, making everyone laugh a little.
“Shut up, Sergeant.” Georgia Man said. “I hate that name, it's a terrible nickname. Why does everyone have a cool nickname and then there's mine?”
Steve snorted. “Are you complaining? We could've given you a much worse name!” While Private, the second voice, and Sergeant, the fourth voice, kept teasing the Shield agent named Georgia Man.
In a crouched position, Steve got closer to the agents with the guns. Hydra guys protecting an abandoned Hydra facility so their team mates could enter the building? Weird, but as much was to be expected of Hydra. They always did weird and questionable things.
Steve decided to go the offensive way and threw a shield, his weapon of choice, right into the first Hydra agents back, making him slump over.
By the time the other man had turned around and had his gun pointed at Steve, the shield agent had already unloaded his own gun at the man, killing him off quickly, a clean hole in his head.
Steve quickly checked that no other Hydra agent guarded the entrace and entered the facility once again.
He saw another shield agent, the Corporal, on top of some stairs. The man had his gun at the ready and was walking slowly and thoughtfully. Once he spotted Steve, he crouched down next to an empty barrel.
Steve went to him and crouched down as well. “Where did they go?”
“They went into the western wing of the building. Where the weapons were once. Sergeant's behind them.” Corporal said. Steve nodded. “The guards are not a threat anymore, every other Hydra agent is inside now. Keep guarding the entrance though, just in case.”
Steve followed the Sergeant and the Hydra Agents. He heard low voices talk.
He spotted his team mate and wondered where the others were. Before he could ask the Sergeant though, one of the Hydra agents reactivated a machine that had been used to produce weapons more than ten years ago.
Steve frowned at the Sergeant who shrugged helplessly.
The Hydra agent took of his mask. Steve's frown deepened. “Rumlow?" He whispered, recognizing the man who had just revealed his face.
Rumlow had a maniac grin on his face when he picked up what looked like a long range rifle, but appeared to be something else.
“Hydra will be happy with these ones being back in their hands.” Rumlow said, before putting the weapon back down and raising both of his arms and whispering “Hail Hydra.”
The others followed suit.

James had just helped his brother Michael with his homework when his sister, Elizabeth, entered his room.
“James?” He looked up from his phone and at his sister who looked a little lost. Elizabeth looked like an angel, with her light blonde curls and her shining blue eyes. Now her blue eyes were wide open and she looked scared, intimidated even.
“I just saw someone standing in front of our house staring at it.” she said. “Mom and dad are not home so I thought I should tell you. They were creepy and they walked away when they saw me.”
