“Okay, good morning class. Parents in the back, welcome. for parents who didn’t know me, my name is Lexie Grey. For this month’s Art Day, I ask the students to make a short story and draw about their family, and they all will be reading their story in front of us. Are you guys ready?”
“Yes” the kids are cheering and clapping their hands
“Okay, first, we are starting with April Kepner. Are you ready?”
“Yes, Miss Grey” the girl with glasses nodded and stood in front of everyone holding a big piece of paper “this time I am writing about my mother. My mother drives me and my brother everywhere, sometimes she took me to have sleepovers with my best friend Arizona. My mother also loves to cook, her homemade pizza is tough but I like her chicken wings”
Some of the parents laugh and a woman next to Steve let out a small groan, which later they share a glance and sympathetic smile.
“I love my mother” the little girl continues and shows a drawing of her mother with long bright yellow hair with multiple black streaks on top of her head
“Oh my god” the mother gaped at the drawing and looked at Steve again “guess it’s time to call my salon for a hair appointment” she winced
Steve tried his best not to laugh at the mother’s horrified expression “kids are too honest for their own good”
“Thank you, April” Miss Grey claps her hand followed by the other kids and parents “next, we have Andrew DeLuca”
The boy with curly hair stands up and holds a paper “today I am writing about my older brothers. I have two brothers named Jackson and Alex. Jackson is a freshman in high school, and Alex is in seventh grade. Jackson likes to play PlayStation and basketball, and Alex likes to watch Youtube. sometimes my brothers teach me to play games, some other times they sit on my head if I annoy them”
Tony snorts when he saw a man in front of him and starts facepalming his own head, “our kids are idiots” he muttered to the woman next to him but loud enough for Tony to eavesdrop.
“Jackson is always on his phone texting. He also teaches me and Alex how to text. I love both of my brothers” the boy flips the pages and shows a drawing of three-person holding a phone with text balloons in their hands “this is L-O-L, which means Lots of Love” he points at one balloon “and this is C-U-N-T, that means See You Next Time”
Several snorts and giggles can be heard around the parents, some others just burst out laughing, even the father of the kid also shaking and wiping a tear from his face with his thumb, laughing uncontrollably. Steve’s super hearing caught the mother muttering to herself “that idiot is grounded”
The kid looking at all the parents erupted in laughter from the back of the class in confusion and starts pointing again “this one is W-T-F, that means –“
“Okay, thank you Andrew” Miss Grey cut the kid short and immediately starts clapping, urging all the other kids and the parents to start clapping too “okay, next one is Peter Stark-Rogers. Come on in Peter”
Peter grins and starts to read his piece “My name is Peter Stark-Rogers. I have two daddies. One of my daddy's names is Tony Stark. My Daddy is a genius because he made robots and sometimes helps me with my homework, my other Daddy is Steve Rogers and I call him Papa. Daddy said Papa is a handsome popsicle”
Steve rolled his eyes at Tony who are wiggling his eyebrows and smiling innocently at him
“Daddy said Papa and him are kicking bad guy’s ass for living”
Tony shrugged and ignored the judgy looks the teacher and Steve sent at his directions
“My Papa made the best food, but vegetables are icky” Peter made a face, and some kids nodded in agreement “I live in Avengers tower with my uncles and aunties. I have two aunts. Aunt Pepper gives the best hug and Aunt Nat made the best cocoa. My uncle Clint teach me sign languages” he signed with his little fingers in front of the other kids “that spells you suck in sign language”
The woman next to Tony snorts rather loudly, looking at several disapproving looks from other parents “tough crowd” Tony whispered and winking at the woman
“I thought it was funny” she shrugged and whispered back
“Uncle Bruce likes to stay in his lab and sometimes he lets me push the buttons on his computer with him. Uncle Thor can fly, he once took me to piggyback flying and jumping from buildings. It was awesome” Peter giggled
Steve almost had a heart attack, looking at his husband “do you know about this?” they mouthed at each other in unison “you don’t?” they mouthed at each other again
“Papa said we all might not be related by blood, but our family is made up of people who love and support each other and that’s what matters. this is the Avengers and this is my family” Peter shows the drawing of an uneven dark grey phallic resembling avengers tower with several colorful blobs surrounding the building
“Thank you, Peter. Now let’s give him some applause” Miss Grey fixes her glasses “Next, Jo Wilson”
“That is so sweet” some parents look in Steve and Tony's direction while clapping at the girl in the front who starts telling her friends about her dog named “Taco Wilson”
“We are definitely going to have a chat with Thor later but we are taking him to the Lego store after school” Tony whispered in Steve’s ears
“I told you we are not buying him the whole store. Just took him for ice cream” Steve whispered back and giving Peter a wave when the boy starts looking at them both grinning ear to ear
“We got the best kid,” Tony said proudly
“We are framing that drawing tonight” Steve whispered, equally proud of his son
