Healing
Kate wasn't known for listening to people. So you weren't surprised that she fought some Hydra agents in the city without you.
She burst in through the front door of her apartment, holding her stomach and arm, groaning. You ran to the bathroom and returned with supplies for Kate's wound.
By this time, Kate sat on a stool, waiting for you.
"What happened?," you asked softly. You carefully unzipped Kate's suit to assess the injury. You winced at the bruising on Kate's stomach, a red angry blotch glaring back at you. "Any other injuries, sweetie."
"If you think this is bad, you should see the other guy." You could see through Kate's false bravado as she shimmied out of the top of her suit.
Her left arm had some deep scratches through the flesh. You grabbed an ice pack and placed it to the bruise on Kate's stomach. She flinched at the cold pack and the pressure on the bruise.
"Sorry. I know l, it hurts, but it'll help heal the bruise." you promised. You kissed Kate's forehead and wrapped a cloth bandage wrap around her stomach and back to hold the ice pack in place.
"What about my arm?" Kate asked. You rifled through the box of supplies before pulling out some morphine and an injector.
"First, I'll clean and wrap your arm, then I'll give you morphine to help with the pain." You gently guide Kate to the kitchen sink. You used hydrogen peroxide to clean the wound before applying gauze and wrapping her arm wound.
Kate sat back down on the stool while you prepared the morphine. "Ready?," you asked. Kate nodded and you gently took her injured arm and carefully injected the morphine into her. "Ready for bed?"
"Yeah, I'm beat." You lifted your girlfriend into your arms and took her to her room. You picked up a purple hoodie and helped Kate put the hoodie on and removed the pants she wore with her suit.
After her hoodie was on, you gently placed Kate under her lilac covers. You got under the covers with her and kissed her on the lips. "Goodnight, sweetie."
Kate wrapped her arms around you. "Goodnight, baby." The two of you lay in bed until you both fell asleep.
A couple of hours later, your eyes fluttered open. Kate's room was awash with the rays of the home. You figured you should make breakfast for you and Kate.
You carefully shifted and got out of the bed. You placed some pizza slices in the microwave. Man, that girl loves pizza.
You returned to Kate's room to see Kate awake but bleary eyed. "Who are you, cute guy?", she asked, pulling the covers up to her chin. Her voice kind of slow and sluggish.
"Easy, I come in peace and brought pizza for breakfast." Kate stared wide eyed.
You sat on the bed and handed Kate her plate of pizza." Thank you. What happened to me?"
"You were injured on patrol and I patched you up." Kate scooted closer to you. Her blue eyes were lit up, usually when she flirted with you.
"So, cute guy, do you have a girlfriend?" You had to hold your laugh in.
"Kate, I'm your boyfriend. We've been dating for six months." Kate's eyes widened in shock. She stared at you for a second. "Is it okay if I kiss you?"
Kate shyly nodded, so you moved in and kissed her. Kate giggled."The cute guy just kissed me! How did I get so lucky?" You chuckled.
"I wonder the same thing myself, Katie." Kate's cheeks burned red at your nickname for her.
