Okay so while mainstream Marvel utterly ticks me off for One More Day BS on Peter being written as a stupid idiot for making a deal with the literal devil, this whole other earth Renew your vows comic does the same.
Because turning a blind eye to Peter alongside MJ letting their nine-year-old kid be a vigilante? Are you kidding me, Marvel? Who on earth writes and approves this crap, or worse defends it? As Jamerson would yell is idiots.
This child endangerment on Bruce Wayne levels for the young age with the Robins.
Marvel had one main teenager sidekick for James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes Jr. who Stan Lee had killed off from hating child sidekicks for obvious reasons.
Peter Parker was a massive subversion of the sidekick trope, and the X Men were late teens/early adults.
In an apartment living room
“But dad I want to help mom and you,” Annie says pleadingly.
“No Anna-May Parker you’re not. Just having powers is not putting you out on the field. While I was fifteen when I started but that was me out there alone as a child soldier. Even the X Men has Charles never put a near nine-year-old out in war” Peter replies firmly.
“Most of the X Men were in their later teens, near legal grownups when they began. Even then we don’t exactly agree with Xavier’s choices there. We are not letting you as a nine-year-old go out in life and death situations” Mary Jane says walking over.
“I helped against Regent,” Annie says upset.
Pinching the bridge of his nose “Because that was a literal fight for everybody’s survival following him coming after us. And we had nowhere else to run” Peter replies in aggravation.
“Listen May Parker the answer is your no. Maybe when you’re older near eighteen because I know there is no stopping you. However, neither one of us is going to be putting you at risk this age, it’s literal child endangerment” Mary Jane says.
“Annie, Steve Rogers lost his friend Bucky a long time ago and well there’s a reason none of the heroes ever really had sidekicks. Even X-Men end up being trained to defend first, and the fighting in a war part is an unfortunate consequence of their lives. I appreciate you want to help but the answer is no” Peter says firmly.
“I hate you both right now” Annie replies.
“Don’t care, you’ll grow up and get over it” Peter says “Which no sneaking out either. You will be trained to control your powers but not out there as a vigilante.”
Pouting Annie runs past her parents into her room and lets the door close with a slam.

Despite my issues with Peter/MJ or Mary Jane this endangering her kid is just way too out of character.
