New Story— Yay!I’m trying something new! I’ve never done anything omegaverse related but this isn’t really your usual AU? I don’t think. Just read and find out if you like it lolI apologize for spelling/grammar mistakes. This first chapter is just kinda a pilot chapter? The real story actually begins next chapter. So this chapter is mainly just flashbacks/leading up to the start of the story? If that makes sense.I will put a ❗️Trigger Warning ❗️for this chapter though because there is a fight scene and there is a mentioning/brief bit of smut? (They’re married/adults) Not really but it’s there so I’ll just include it just in case? But it’s really nothing. Just for peace of mind.

A Family Feast

“Are you ready?”

Enid heard her wife’s voice and swallowed the nerves that formed a lump in her throat.

Wednesday came up behind her and placed a comforting hand on her back.

Tonight was the night they’d be announcing their pregnancy to the pack.

Originally, they’d planned to make the announcement after just a few months but they’d done such a good job in hiding it that they’d gotten through basically the entire pregnancy without letting anything slip.

Wednesday was thirty-seven weeks pregnant and their babies could come any day now. They were officially out of time and needed to make the announcement so the pack knew.

Yes, babies.

Months prior during one of their top secret ultrasounds, they’d made the discovery that it wasn’t just one baby but two. Wednesday was a bit less than thrilled at first but Enid was ecstatic when she heard the news.

Their first litter would be one of twins.

“I really hope I am.”

Came the response— full of uncertainty.

Everyone was outside waiting. Enid had called for a pack meeting and had arranged for a very special feast following the grand announcement. It would start as soon as she walked out the front door she was standing in front of— Wednesday at her side like always.

“What are your current woes?”

Enid felt the small hand on her back begin to rub small circles into her clothed muscle. Wednesday was clearly trying to ease her mind a little but truthfully the only thing that’d make her feel better would be getting it over with. She had to rip the bandaid off already.

“Some may be upset we waited so long to tell them, you know? I don’t wanna.. upset people.”

During her time as alpha— around five to six years so far?— Enid had been great. She made smart decisions and listened to people’s voices when they wanted to be heard. She ruled with civility and respect, with both her heart and her head.. but? She was also a damn people pleaser to the end. That hadn’t changed.

Wednesday moved her hand from Enid’s back and took a step closer to her, standing on her tip toes to cup her cheek— a small thumb creasing over the deep facial scar there, one of the few Tyler had left her with.

“You are the alpha.” She reminded her, “Your job is to protect and provide, not to please.”

Yeah.. that was true.

Enid sighed into her touch, turning her head a little and kissing Wednesday’s palm— right at the scar Thornhill had gifted her with many years ago. The scar that lined up perfectly with the larger one on her cheek whenever she cupped her face with that cold touch of hers.

“You’re right, I just..” Enid broke eye contact and laughed breathless, “You know me..”

Wednesday studied her wife’s face for a moment and finally.. connecting a few dots of her own without Enid saying anything.

“You’re worried about what your family is going to say about the news?”

Enid almost flinched at how Wednesday had hit the bullseye— reading her like a book.

She expected no less of her but still.

“And furthermore, the last time we made an announcement to them in regards to our relationship.. we both know what occurred.”

Enid didn’t wanna remember that day in the rain. The day they told the Sinclair family they’d gotten married. That day.. was bad.

Who could blame her for being a bit nervous?

Everyone was there— the Sinclair family included as they were apart of the pack. Well, the Sinclair family had been invited but their presence wasn’t exactly guaranteed considering their dislike for their omega.

Hell, they’d even went as far as to invite the Addams family out to San Francisco for their announcement and celebratory dinner. Meaning that the omega’s human family was outside that door, waiting with everyone else.

Truthfully, Wednesday had made her opinion known years ago that she thought Enid should just cut ties with her family or even go far as to exile them from the pack but for whatever fucking reason, becoming the alpha had given Enid more hope and confidence when it came to her rotten relatives. She’d accomplished the greatest achievement one could as wolf.. surely they’d all come around now?

Surely, they’d accept her and love her now..

They hadn’t.

They didn’t.

But.. Wednesday couldn’t make decisions for Enid. She could only do it for the pack.

“I don’t wanna talk about that, okay?” Enid finally said, reaching forward and putting both of her large, strong hands on her wife’s rather big baby bump, “I wanna focus on now. Tonight is supposed to be a good night.”

Wednesday allowed the touch but slowly dropped her hand away from Enid’s cheek and came to rest over Enid’s hands that creased her swollen stomach.

The twins in her womb adored their mothers touch, kicking up a storm under her fingertips.

“Then exit out that door and give a good speech. I know you’re capable of it.”

Enid leaned down for once finale kiss— one finale gesture of reassurance before she went. The omega was quick to kiss back and after their short lasted kiss, she left out the door.

Outside in the front yard, all the wolves had gathered. Despite the fact that they all inhabited the rural area of the forest, it was pretty rare to see all of the pack in its entirety in the same place at the same time.

Luckily, Enid and Wednesday’s large home had no fences and the open space accommodated everyone just fine.

Everyone was gathered around as Enid stepped outside and stood on the front stoop— giving everyone a polite smile.

“Thank you for gathering, your presence is appreciated.” She called out— making sure to project her voice and make it travel.

It had taken years to get used to giving speeches but Enid had mastered it pretty well. She was a good alpha— so, most wolfs hung on to each word she said.

“As you all know, there will be a feast tonight.”

A few howls of glee and hunger echoed out in the crowd from a few— causing Enid to laugh a little and raise a hand, calling for silence.

“Yes, I know we’re all hungry. Our hunters have been working hard to collect food for the winter, so at this time I’d like to call for an applaud on their behalf for all the hard work”

Wednesday stood behind the door, listening and heard the muffled round of applause.

Enid continued to speak— going over all bases of information she had to cover at each pack meeting. That included praising those who deserved it and giving reminders to those who needed some correction.

The omega truthfully didn’t listen too much to all the useless information. She was simply anticipating the big announcement.

As if they sensed their mothers nerves, one of the babies in her womb began to kick.

A small ghost of a smile tugged at her lips.

“Relax in there, little one..” She sighed, bringing a hand up to her bump to soothe the kicks.

How had they managed to hide their entire pregnancy? It was easier said than done. The only indication that could’ve gave them away was how protective Enid got out of instinct or one of the few times Wednesday had been sick and couldn’t attend the pack meetings they’d host but they’d always covered it up. No one suspected anything— importantly, no one asked.

Wednesday often wore baggy clothes like trench coats— like now— and loose fitting jackets or sweaters, anything that hid her body and helped keep the secret.

Back on the other side of the door, Enid’s speech was going well but she had to admit she wasn’t really focused on what she was saying. All she could do was search the crowd for her family.. but she didn’t find them.

Maybe they didn’t show up?

A mix of both relief and slight sadness settled in her chest at that possibility.

The Addams were there. Enid could see them standing in the far back, likely not wanting to mingle in the middle of a crowd of wolves— which was understandable.

Finally, the end of the speech was approaching. She’d rehearsed this bit so many times.. but all her practice was leaving her.

“And.. um..” Enid added, trying to search for what to say— her mind was blanking. “T-there’s also some.. big news I’d like to share with you all, if you’d all listen up.”

Wednesday sensed it was time to make an entrance and help her wife out. She’d done good but perhaps it was okay to help her.

The front door creaked open once again and the omega appeared beside her alpha, looking out at the crowd with her usual blank expression.

Enid visibly relaxed at the scent and presence of her mate. She took a deep breath and held Wednesday’s cold hand in her own. With an exhale, she continued to speak;

“My Wednesday— your omega— is pregnant with our first litter. We’re expecting twins.”

There was just something about her mates presence that made her instantly let go of all her previous anxiety. The words rolled off her tongue much easier when her omega was at her side. She didn’t stutter or mess up once.

Wednesday undid the buttons to her black trench coat, revealing her large bump that looked very obvious in the black turtle neck sweater was wearing underneath.

There was a pause— not a long one.

Then? A loud applause and mix of enthusiastic howls that overtook the large crowd.

They were met with nothing but acceptance.

How revoltingly pleasant.

After the announcement, there was a short period of time for everyone to mingle and sip wine to their hearts content— or? In Wednesday’s case, like one of the younger pups in the pack; sparkling cider— whilst they waited for the feast to be ready.

Naturally, Wednesday and Enid stuck at each others side and made the decision to go and find Wednesday’s family to welcome them to San Francisco and, you know, see how they were handling the news.

“The speech was good, stop overthinking.”

Enid almost let out a yelp at how easily Wednesday read her mind! How?

“Omega, please..” She tried to play off, keeping an arm around her as they walked through the crowd, “I’m- not.. doing that.”

Wednesday was not convinced but opted to stay quite since it’s what she did best when she didn’t know what to say— which was pretty much all the time.

As they walked, they were congratulated countless times and Enid even got a few pats on the back or handshakes. Wednesday wasn’t touched since everyone knew better than to try that with her, especially now that she was pregnant and had her rather buff, protective alpha on her arm.

Finally, they found the table the Addams family was sitting at. Of course, it was the only table in the entire backyard with a black tablecloth instead of the regular white color.

Enid had to make her in-laws feel at home!

Immediately, they were met with the sight of Gomez in shambles and everyone in sight appeared to have some sort of happy expression, as happy as they could muster being from such a cold family.

Morticia was the first to stand up.

She made her way over to the couple and Enid let go of her wife, giving her space to be with her family. Wednesday wasn’t like her— she didn’t have her loved ones close to her all the time so this was rare for them.

They hadn’t seen each other in awhile and after hearing such news? Enid figured they’d probably wanna hug her, or at least talk to her for awhile so she gave them space.

“Mother.” Wednesday greeted flatly, looking up to see the taller woman wiping away tears. “Please tell me fathers emotional antics haven’t rubbed off on you..”

Oh, but they had.

Morticia gave her a watery smile.

There was many times when Morticia wished she could hug her daughter— wished Wednesday would allow it— this was one of those times.. but she knew better. She continued to respect her daughters boundaries, pushing the urges aside.

“Wednesday, how I longed for this day.”

Cold hands reached out and hovered over her daughters large baby bump. She didn’t actually make contract with her, but just grazed over the sweater covering it.

Enid bit back a soft smile at the gesture.

Wednesday allowed the motions, her expression remaining blank as always.

“Twins? How dreadfully wonderful.”

Soon, Gomez couldn’t contain himself, he stood up and hugged his daughter tightly— being mindful of her at the same time.

“Oh, my stars turning into the sun, mi amor..” Gomez sniffled and nuzzled the younger girl who stood stiff in his embrace and did nothing to return the physical touch whatsoever.

But? She still allowed it.

Pugsley didn’t hesitate to join the hug too.

Enid covered her mouth with a hand, biting back giggles at the grumpy expression on her wife’s face as she was sandwiched between the two men— forced into the hug.

As she stood and watched, Morticia came to her side, gently wrapping an arm around her.

Enid was a little caught off guard but melted into the side hug nonetheless. Clearly, she never got that kind of affection from her own mother so she took anything she could get.

Morticia then, throughout all the hugging and happy reactions, asked one of the nights biggest yet to be answered questions;

“Do these unborn angels have names?”

They did.

Enid and Wednesday shared glances, silently asking one another if they were ready to share the names of their children just yet.

Only after Wednesday gave her a firm nod, did Enid open her mouth and reply;

“Yeah, we picked out some names.” She confirmed, “We’re having a boy and a girl.”

That announcement was enough to have Morticia smiling even more and Gomez pulling Wednesday closer, sniffling and crying even more into her shoulder.

“For the boy? We picked Fangs Weems Addams.” Enid announced.

Fang— after one of Wednesday’s newest characters in her novels. Fang was a noble beast Viper happened to tame.

It was a sharp, cunning and powerful name. It was perfect for an Addams.

Weems was self explanatory. They’d be incredibly inconsiderate not to name their firstborn after the woman who brought them together at Nevermore for the first time.

Larissa Weems was an amazing woman and deserved only praise. Yet, she’d be upset to hear her memory came with sadness instead of happiness— so, naming their son after her would replace such emotions.

“And for our daughter..”

Wednesday spoke up, figuring she’d take the reigns and announce the girls name.

“We chose Sunday Morticia Addams.”

Why Sunday?

Well, Enid was very keen on the nickname “sunny” and “sunshine” and fittingly, the name Sunday would be perfect for such.

Morticia deserved to be named after. Neither Enid or Wednesday needed an explanation.

The Addams family members had their own reactions— Pugsley giving a small smile, Gomez releasing his daughter, opting to pull Enid into a tight hug instead. Enid broke out into a small fit of laughter and allowed the hug, returning it in full with a huge smile.

All the while.. Morticia just really wanted to hug her daughter. Another tear falling down her cheeks. She could hardly believe her granddaughter was going to be named after her. How unbelievably touching.

“T-this is wonderful news.” Morticia reached up and wiped her eyes, keeping it together. “I believe my visions hinted to me that this would happen eventually, but I’m more than pleased that it’s become reality.”

As Gomez let go, giving Enid one finale squeeze, he stood by his wife and nodded in agreement, “Y-yes, even though you kept this such a big secret, it doesn’t change how we feel.. but please don’t keep us in the dark again.” His pure heart couldn’t take that.

Enid swore she caught a small smile on her wife’s lips at her parents kind reactions but she knew better than to point it out.

The blonde opened her mouth to say something but was caught off by the sound of a bell. She, along with basically everyone else, turnt towards the sound and saw that it was none other than Thing— ringing a silver bell at the largest table in the center of the gathering.

The sound of the bell signified that dinner was ready and the actual feast was set to begin now.

Like flies to a flame, many of the pack members rushed towards their seats with eagerness and anxious anticipation— their stomachs growling in want.

If there was anything Wednesday had learnt about wolves as the only human in the pack, it was that they could eat endless amounts with shockingly little effort.

“Let’s go, dearest.” Morticia insisted, “Let’s make sure you eat well to save your strength.”

Wednesday, although not a fan of being catered to, was in no position to refuse so she went with it.

Enid led the way to the large table they’d set up. The large backyard was full of various tables for all of the pack but the large table in the center was made for the alpha, omega and the families of the two. On one side of the table? The Addams would sit. Across from them? The Sinclair pack was assigned to sit there.

It was going to be a dangerous set up. However, Enid hadn’t seen any of her blood family since the night began. Perhaps.. the didn’t show up at all?

She was pulled from her thoughts when she noticed a few young pups mindlessly chasing Thing across the grass— oh shit, that couldn’t be good.

“Uh! Remember, please! No hands for dinner!” The alpha called out for extra clarification, “Thing is.. family! Not an appetizer, please don’t try and eat him.. again.”

Yes. Again. It was a long story.

Regardless on if her own family showed up, Enid just really hoped the night could go on without too much of fuss but she was foolish to wish such a thing.

Wednesday had no idea how she was supposed to eat everything on her plate. A wolves diet consisted of mainly protein— fatty, bloody meats and wild berries freshly picked from the woods that surrounded them. It was no secret that the pack longed to take care of their omega but especially after finding out she was pregnant with their alpha’s litter? They were more than willing to give all their extras to the human.

How.. kind?

She sat there, picking at her food and sipping whatever sparkling liquid was in her glass. Enid sat beside her and ate her own food, making small conversations with the Addams family that sat down the line of chairs on Wednesday’s side of the table. Her own side.. remained empty for a long time. The Sinclair’s.. hadn’t shown up. They weren’t at the meeting and they hadn’t bothered to show up to the feast.

Maybe that was for the better. Wednesday honestly didn’t mind the absence but knew her mate, bless her heart, still invited them and longed for their approval.

Even after all that had happened, Enid wanted them in her life and wanted to include them.

Wednesday hated the Sinclair’s but what she hated even more than them was seeing her mate upset. She hated the way Enid’s smile faltered when eyes weren’t on her— the way she almost somberly picked at her food, staying relatively quiet beside her. It was out of character for her. Tonight was supposed to be a good night for them..

With a small sigh, the omega reached over and mindlessly began to caress her alpha’s bicep.

“All we can do is try and enjoy the night, cara mia.”

The words were low, only Enid heard them.

Instantly, Enid found herself smiling.

“Of course, don’t worry.. I’m having a good time.”

She was.. but she also wasn’t.

Wednesday’s eyes softened at the obvious lie but it was then that a ruckus broke through the light chatter.

Unsure what it was at first, many just gazed off in the direction of the incoming noise. It sounded like a mini stampede— or a wild pack of loose pups.

Enid squinted her eyes across the yard to try and gage the source of the interruption but couldn’t.

“Watch out!”

An unknown voice cried out from afar.

Then? Enid finally noticed a flying football coming straight at them. She wanted to catch it before it hit someone but was too caught off guard to act properly.

The ball flew and luckily, didn’t hit anyone. Though, it did make its grand landing in the middle of the large table, causing a pretty big mess, knocking over glasses and food in the process.

Enid immediately looked to her mate to make sure she was okay— out of precaution and protective instinct— but Wednesday appeared to be completely fine, remaining stoic as always.

“Hey sis..”

Her blue eyes left the sight of her mate and snapped over in the direction of the familiar voice, only to see the likes of Elliot and Duke making their way over to the table, covered in sweat and dirt. Over the years, her brothers remained imbeciles..

No one was surprised by their actions. They always fussed and roughhoused as if they were mere pups.

Elliot wiped his brow of sweat and reached over the table, picking a small portion of meat from Pugsley’s plate and with poor manners, scarfed it down.

Duke at least made his way over to Enid to greet her and the omega properly but paused on his way over, glancing at Wednesday with a puzzled expression.

“Hey Wednesday..” He mused, “Wow, you got fat.”

Wednesday released a silent breath at his audacity but the awkward silence that followed was better than any snarky comeback she could possibly muster up.

Enid finally spoke up after her brother’s rude intrusion. Sure, they were technically invited and their presence was somewhat wanted but still— there were better ways to make an entrance at a special feast.

“Duke.” She said firmly under her breath, “Did you guys seriously not come to the mandatory pack meeting?” The alpha made sure to emphasize the mandatory part, trying to sound like an actual authority figure for once, “She’s pregnant wise guy, not— fat? Rude.. no wonder none of the single women in the pack want to court you.” Her nose then scrunched in disgust, “God, you both freaking reek too, gross!”

Duke could hardly be offended. He hadn’t been paying attention really, too focused on staring down the omega’s family, giving them all a full silent inspection with his judgmental gaze. So, this was the infamous Addams family he’d heard so much about over the years?

This would be the first time the two families were actually officially meeting one another.. this wasn’t a great start as far as introductions went in Enid’s book.

“Huh? It looks more like a funeral.” Elliot finally spoke up after licking his lips and grabbing a drumstick of meat from off the smashed turkey the football had ruined during its grand crash landing moments ago.

Truth be told, the Addams always did dress for the most depressing occasion possible. Enid understood that comment but it still wasn’t necessary to make.

Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea..

She was beginning to think herself a fool for such a bold choice of seating arrangement.. it was like having the nerve to approach a bomb with expectations of it not exploding. It was like attempting to mix oil and water together, expecting the substances to merge peacefully.

“There’s going to be a funeral if you keep talking.” Wednesday then mused nonchalantly, sipping her drink.

Morticia smiled at her daughters ambition and Pugsley held back a smirk at the shared confusion displayed across Duke and Elliot’s faces. The stupidity on their expressions was almost painful to bear witness to.

“Omega, please.” Enid whispered to her wife.

She was already having to play peacemaker and her mother wasn’t even here—

“Enid and Wednesday Addams!”

Oh.. great. Wonderful.

The sound of Ester Sinclair’s voice filled the proximity, along with the invading scent of ember and judgment. It didn’t take her long to not only make her presence known but to also invade the couple’s space.

Following behind her with significantly less enthusiasm, was Murray Sinclair.. and her brother Humphrey.

Wednesday had made it clear Humphrey wasn’t welcome anywhere near her. Enid still had to respect the pack laws though— if one was not banished or considered a lone wolf, then they were to be included regardless. If an alpha or omega purposely excluded a pack member, it’d be going against wolf courtesy.

“Mom,” Enid sighed heavily, trying to mask the way her social battery was plummeting, “Hi—“

She was shortly cut off by her mother.

“How dare you keep such a secret from a grandma-to-be! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?”

Ester was dramatic as always.

Morticia and Gomez, along with the other members of the Addams family, exchanged looks of various reactions to finally being blessed with the presence of the great Ester Sinclair they’d heard so much about..

Mostly negative things, admittedly.

Wednesday sent Enid a warning look. She didn’t acknowledge her mother-in-law. She could feel the woman standing far too close beside her though. So, her eyes silently told her mate to put her mother back in line before she misbehaved and caused a problem.

Ester then, before Enid could say or do anything, made the bold move to reach for Wednesday’s stomach.

“It’s not everyday I find out I have grandchildren on the way, tell me— do they kick very often?”

Wednesday didn’t answer her question and she sure as hell didn’t let the woman’s hand get even remarkably close to her bump. Instead, she quickly grabbed Ester’s hand and pinned in on the table in front of them.

“I’m going to ask you to leave my proximity.”

Enid bit back a whimper. No.. this was going all wrong! Why was she watching everything spiral in front of her? It felt impossible to speak up in the presence of her family. She shook her head— trying to tame her mate.

“Wednesday, baby, please behave—“

Wednesday didn’t listen. She then tightened her grip on Ester’s hand, “If you attempt to touch my stomach once more, your fingers will be bent back and used as decorative pieces for the twins’ nursery. Are my words clear, dearest mother-in-law of mine?”

Ester scoffed, tugging hard enough to finally pull her hand away from the omega. She cradled her hand against her chest like it was wounded.

“Crystal.” She muttered bitterly, “My word, hormones sure have gotten to you, haven’t they? You’re even less tolerable than I remember.”

The omega didn’t see that as a dig or insult.

“How kind of you.” Came the flat response.

Morticia hummed, sensing the growing tension. She wanted to come to her daughters defense, explain that it wasn’t hormones at all. It was just her personality. Yet, that was unnecessary. Everyone knew Wednesday’s words were her own.

Enid was finally able to clear her throat loud enough to change the topic. Hopefully, she could maintain peace between the two families for the next few hours. As alpha, she’d faced many challenges before over the years so surely? She’d be able to do this without issue.

“Mother.” The alpha greeted, “Excuse my mate. You, of all people, should know pregnancy is far from easy. However, you’ve forgotten your place. Unless you have a gift to give or a kind word to share, I have to ask you to take a seat and leave Wednesday’s personal space.”

Ester raised an eyebrow, opening her mouth to speak but her eldest son— Humphrey— soon came up to her side and took over the conversation like he always did.

Wednesday despised him.

In the omega’s eyes, Humphrey was nothing but a pathetic side kick that survived in his mother shadow.

“You and the human have been courted for half a decade. It’s only natural you’d be expecting at some point.” Humphrey pointed out. He too spared the Addams family a glance but didn’t let it linger— he could care less about the presence of the mortals. “But that being said, this occasion is hardly worth celebrating at all.”

Enid tasted a metallic taste in her mouth— drawing blood on the inside of her cheek from biting it so hard. Her jaw clenched and she let herself openly frown.

Earlier she felt a bit dumb for being upset that her family hadn’t shown up. Now? She wished they’d leave..

They were already ruining everything.

Elliot— after having his mind in the clouds for the past few minutes— finally decided to come back to reality.

“Oh!” The youngest Sinclair brother gasped in revelation, “Congrats on getting a girl pregnant, E!”

What.. an odd way to go about saying congratulations.

Enid felt like sinking into her chair and disappearing into thin fucking air. Had her brother really just said such a thing in front of her family? Even worse— her in-laws.

Pugsley snorted and nearly choked on his sip of cider but managed to keep it together. All the while, Gomez innocently enjoyed his steak and told Thing to sent his compliments to the chef who’d prepared it all.

Morticia let her eyes remain on Ester, in particular. There wasn’t a thought in her mind. She just simply observed the peculiar, crude woman with graying hair.

“Thank you—“ Enid started.

Only to be cut off again. Seriously?

“Brother, please.” Humphrey insisted, “A congratulations would only be in order if the pups were purebred werewolf pups,” He looked Wednesday with what could only be described as disgust, “It’s obviously they won’t be. Unfortunately, their blood with no doubtfully be tainted with the likes of Addams and human blood.”

Enid could handle her brothers being idiots. She could handle their embarrassing antics and she could even handle a little bit of her mother’s judgment but what she couldn’t handle and what she refused to tolerate was the blatant disrespect and rude comments from Humphrey. It was hard to deal with in general but especially when they were directed at her wife or worse— their pups.. who hadn’t even been born yet.

“That’s enough.” Wednesday found herself speaking up.

She normally didn’t give Humphrey the time of day. It was entertaining to watch him desperately try and get a reaction out of her — rarely ever prevailing to do so.

However, exceptions could be made at the extent of the man choosing to bad mouth her unborn children.

Sunday and Fang didn’t deserve such harsh words.

Clearly, Enid agreed.

The alpha let out a small warning growl, finally standing up. She had to take a breath to keep herself calm. It was often for an alpha as powerful as herself to often lose control but as leader, she always strived to be a good example for the pups who looked up to her.

Violence.. wasn’t the answer.

Even if punching her brother in the face seemed like a really good idea. Almost everyone knew what happened the last time she and her oldest brother got physical..

Moving on.

“Watch your tongue, Humphrey.” The alpha said— looking at her family who hadn’t even sat down yet. “Need I remind you that the Addams legacy is gold compared to the Sinclair’s reputation. If there’s blood being tainted, it’s not Wednesday’s..”

Her words were a bit harsh— but true nonetheless.

The Sinclair family wasn’t exactly popular or well-liked in the slightest despite Ester being apart of the pack’s head council— a group of wolves that made decisions about smaller ordeals that Enid didn’t have time to address. The family only gained positive recognition when Enid began and proved to be an exceptional alpha.

Based on the Sinclair’s entrance tonight— reasons why they were unpopular amongst the pack definitely didn’t need to be explained further.

Enid watched as Humphrey rolled his eyes at her words— the gesture enraged her even more.

Murray Sinclair, like always, stayed out of the pending, tension-filled conversation.

Instead? He stood behind his mate and had his gaze downward. When a brief silence fell upon the two families? That’s when he finally brought his gaze towards his daughter. Enid.. he was so proud of her. She’d grown up and become such an amazing wolf. Too bad his family was too dysfunctional to properly congratulate her for the family of her own she was creating. He didn’t agree with what his wife and sons were saying. Despite his differing opinions, he continued on with his silence.

The blonde was going to say something else but the sight of her fathers gaze made her stumble a bit. Her anger momentarily disappeared and was replaced with an indescribably sense of confliction.

“Now..” Enid cleared her throat, finally speaking again after a moment of silence, “If you’re done here, I’ll just ask you to leave if you’ve got nothing kind to say. My mate doesn’t need this distress. Thank you.”

Enid took her seat once more, turning her attention back to her plate. Maybe some good food would help distract her from the reality of having such a broken family.

The smell of distress had been evident in the air from Wednesday’s side of the table ever since the Sinclair’s arrived. It wasn’t good. So, Enid said what was for the best.. even if she secretly wished things were different.

Just before any member of the Sinclair family could listen to the alpha’s request or— likely— protest it, the omega had enough too. Wednesday then stood up.

“Actually, I have a different set of orders.” Wednesday called out, watching her in-laws express brief confusion amongst themselves, “Your alpha has arranged for assigned seating on her side of the table and requests your presence for this very event. Ideally you would’ve attended the mandatory pack meeting beforehand but I’m well aware following orders is foreign to some of you.” The snarky subtext didn’t go unnoticed by Ester but it likely slipped Duke and Elliot’s attention. “So, make like good dogs and sit.”

Pugsley stifled a small chuckle at the simple canine command. Of course his sister would treat the Sinclair’s like a bunch of misbehaving dogs rather than werewolves. Gomez smiled, almost breaking into a laugh himself but received a look from Morticia that silently told him to pull it together. So, he gently nudged his adult son with his foot under the table to rein him in.

Enid stayed out of it now. Wednesday didn’t need her help giving orders. She had a right to do so as the omega. It was honestly satisfying— watching her family reluctantly follow a command given by a human.

Not just any human either— an Addams.

Humphrey always had a look of disgust and hatred on his face whenever he had to follow an order.

But soon enough? The Sinclair’s were listening and were taking their seats— sitting across from the Addams. It was almost hard to believe that two polar opposites families were sharing a table, eating the same feast.

Murray sat closest to his daughter, much to Enid’s secret but not-so-secret gratitude.

“Congratulations, kiddo.” Murray finally said, smiling.

Enid felt a weight be lifted off her shoulders. Okay.. it was probably too soon to ask such a thing but maybe this wouldn’t be so bad now that they were all sitting down? Maybe the rest of the night would be okay?

“Thanks, dad.”

And so the family feast continued.

Well, the dinner went as.. smooth.. as it could’ve gone. Sure, there was a few moments where Enid wished she’d been emancipated as a teen but nothing too remarkably horrid. Everyone survived and no one got into a food fight so that was always a win, wasn’t it?

It was later in the night. All pack members had retired to their respective homes in the forest. The Addams family had opted to stay in the large estates various guests bedroom for the night and Enid was currently in the process of helping Wednesday take a bath.

Wednesday was always a very particular woman. She did things in a schedule and becoming heavily pregnant with twins had caused that to become a bit harder to do.

So, finally setting her stubbornness aside— she agreed to let Enid help her get cleaned up before bed.

It was strictly appropriate. There was to be no funny business and Wednesday had already made it clear that lust wasn’t on the agenda tonight after such an experience at the table. It was hard to place but Wednesday kept getting the feeling that her mother wasn’t a fan of Ester Sinclair. No surprise there but still.. her mother wasn’t one to give such judgmental looks.

The omega made a mental note to ask her about later.

“Looks like they’re kicking again..”

Enid’s voice pulled her out of her thoughts.

Shortly after? The sensation of one of their pups kicking fluttered within her womb. Wednesday was used to the feeling by now but it was always unexpected.

The twins kicked. A lot. Sunday, in particular, would probably serve as an excellent soccer player one day.

“It’s a quarter past eight. They always kick up a storm around this time so I’m hardly surprised.”

Enid hummed at her wife’s meticulousness. Leave it to Wednesday to notice a pattern like that.

Wednesday was leaned back in the bubble-filled tub. Her chest was covered with various bubbles but the top of her massive stomach wasn’t fully submerged, along with her knees sticking up out of the soapy, warm water.

She didn’t exactly approve of the strawberry scented bubble bath serum but that’s what she got for asking Enid to help bathe. Wednesday normally preferred showers since sitting in her own filth wasn’t appealing but clearly, standing for long periods was a huge no.

“I can’t wait to meet them.”

Enid leaned on her forearm that was rested on the side of the tub. She was already in pajamas, sitting on the tiled floor outside the tub, waiting to assist Wednesday.

Wednesday almost let her guard down and almost smiled at those words but kept it together. Instead, she brought one of her hands out of the water and creased her bump where the current kicking was occurring.

“Hopefully their arrival will be sooner than later.” She thought out loud, “I’m not one to complain, as you know, but I must confess this extra weight is becoming increasingly difficult to bare.” Wednesday admitted.

At that, Enid frowned a little.

“I know, sweet girl, I know.”

Truthfully, she didn’t.

However, Enid could imagine that being so normally small whilst having to carry such a huge belly around could prove to be challenging and rather difficult.

Her heart ached at the thought of Wednesday being uncomfortable. What she’d do to switch places..

“The healer said it wouldn’t be much longer, alright?” The alpha tried to brighten her mood, “Less than a week, remember? Just hold out a little longer, baby.”

Wednesday didn’t feel much better.

“Cara mia,” The omega then sighed heavily, “That information was given to us just about two weeks ago.”

Oh.. right.

Enid responded with a nervous chuckle.

Her poor, tiny, human mate was overdue.

“R-really? That long.. huh..”

Perhaps being alpha was getting to her memory?

Wednesday merely nodded. Her brows suddenly knitted in discomfort— her scent hinting at subtle pain.

Enid was immediately on edge, sitting up with concern.

“Hey, what is it?” She asked, “A contraction?”

Was this it? Was this labor? Shit! What should she do? Who was she supposed to call first again?

The blondes thoughts raced.

“No.” Wednesday responded after a beat. “Your daughter’s just discovered my ribs..”

Enid wasn’t sure if she should be relieved or a bit saddened that it wasn’t time just yet.

Her mates words were a bit humorous though.

“Oh, c’mon now..” She snickered, “Since when is Sunday just my daughter?”

Wednesday was quick to reply.

“Since a quarter past eight.”

Enid shook her head, laughing now.

“You’re so bad, Wens..”

Wednesday fought the urge to pout.

“I’m glad you find my misery entertaining, alpha.”

“N-no, no, never—“ She stopped laughing.

“It was an attempt at a joke, relax, amor.”

Enid let out a sigh of relief.

“Babe, we seriously need to work on your humor.”

Wednesday rolled her eyes at the thought of improving her humor. She hardly cared that much at all.

“Just get me out of this tub, will you?” She asked, “I’d like to go to bed before our little misfits engage in another round of horseplay at my expense.”

Enid could do that— no problem!

The alpha was quick to get up and help her wife. A pair of strong hands went under Wednesday’s arms to help pull her up but throughout the process of the omega standing up? The most unexpected thing occurred..

Wednesday was perfectly fine one second..

The next?

Her head was being tossed back, staring into the dim light of the bathroom— eyes wide open— a vision overtaking her senses and clouding her mind.

This was the first vision she’d had her entire pregnancy.

Why did she get one now?

“Wednesday? Oh my god, fuck!” Enid said.

Anxiety dripped from her tone as she managed to catch her before she could fall into the water or on the floor. Her body went limp against the blonde and Enid fought to keep her upright, becoming incredibly worried for her..

In her vision? Wednesday opened her eyes to find herself in the woods. Deep, deep in the rural San Francisco woods she and the massive pack called home.

It was night time during a full moon. The air was calm and the sky was clear. There was no sounds other than an occasional cricket or ominous hoot of a distant owl.

Then? The noise of twig snapping made Wednesday turn around the face the direction of the sound..

Standing there in the distance? Was a single lone, rouge werewolf. The beast had red eyes and the color of its fur was hard to make out. All Wednesday could see was how big the creature was based on its alluring shadow.

Rouge wolves were the werewolves that had either been exiled from their packs, were unable to find a mate or had just simply lost themselves to their inner beasts. They were mindless creatures that no longer had the ability to transform back to human. In other words; monsters.

Wednesday wasn’t afraid and yet suddenly felt her breath leave her lungs, causing her to shudder. She was unable to move.. standing there in the woods. The monster then began to run at her— right in her direction.

The unknown rouge wolf let out a snarl and just as it reached her, getting ready to pounce and sink its teeth and fangs into her pale, awaiting flesh? The vision was over.. and she was pulled back into reality.

“Wednesday, baby, wake up!”

The feeling of being shook brought her back.

“Babygirl, c’mon— open your eyes for me, please..”

As soon as Wednesday had her vision, Enid carefully got her out of the tub and put her wife in her furry, black robe they had hanging nearby and then laid her on the tiled floor before attempting to wake her up.

The vision was only about a minute long to Wednesday but to Enid? It felt like forever waiting for her to wake.

Over the years, she’d never truly figured out what to do whenever Wednesday had her visions. All she could really do was be there and support her until she woke up..

But that didn’t mean she enjoyed it! She felt useless!

Wednesday finally gave Enid relief when she opened her eyes, stirring awake with an audible gasp.

The omega went to sit up frantically but Enid stopped her from moving too fast, instead helping her sit up slowly, keeping the robe wrapped around her.

“Hey, hey, no, no, no, shh.. shhh..”

Wednesday needed a second to catch her breath.

Like stated, it had been nearly nine in a half months since she’d had a vision. To go from having no visions to having such a.. intense and vivid one was.. surreal.

“It’s okay, you’re okay Wednesday.. I’m here.”

Wednesday could only nod, wordlessly resting her forehead against Enid’s for a few seconds.

Enid allowed it, reaching up with one hand to move some of the omega’s fallen bangs out of her face.

“God.. you scared me, Willa..”

It wasn’t like Wednesday to feel any kind of remorse but a pang of guilt did soon reside in her chest.

“Forgive me, alpha..”

“No,” Enid shook her head against Wednesday’s forehead, “Don’t apologize.. I’m just glad you’re okay.”

Wednesday was okay. The twins appeared to be okay too. She was just? Confused. Normally, it was a little easier to decipher what her visions meant but in that moment.. she had absolutely no idea what the sight of a lone rouge wolf could mean for them. It was likely pregnancy brain acting as her enemy, unfortunately.

Enid moved away to help Wednesday stand. She was a strong alpha but was always gentle with her wife— unless requested otherwise in certain circumstances— treating her like a delicate black rose.

“Do you wanna talk about it?”

Sometimes, Wednesday was eager to talk about the gruesome sights she was shown in her vision. Enid wasn’t a fan of such topics but always offered.

Wednesday carefully stood up with the much needed assistance and leaned against her wife, shaking her head and resting against her chest for a few moments.

“No.. I wish to sleep.” She insisted, “Take me to bed?”

It had been a long day.

Who was Enid to refuse such a request?

Gently, the lycan girl leaned down and planted a feather-light kiss to the crown of Wednesday’s head.

“Of course, omega. I got you..”

The alpha and omega of the pack lived in the main house in the huge clearing. However, out in the woods was a community of houses built off the land. Like cabins, if you will. There was hundreds of them ranging in size that had been built over the years. The pack lived off the land due to living so far away from the city. It was just easier to hunt for their own game when they were all alone despite living in modern times.

The Sinclair’s didn’t have any problems getting home to their respective cabin. The three boys still lived with their mother and father despite being adults. It was easier since none of them had mates or families of their own.

Murray was the first to head to bed.

It left Ester and the boys awake and in the kitchen. All the lights were off in the home expect for the one in the kitchen. The four of them sat at the same table.

The shared silence was thick..

Humphrey easily picked up on the fact that his mother was deeply torn about something. Deep in thought.

Duke and Elliot were awake to drink hot chocolate in matching mugs. They had not a care in the world.

“What are you thinking about, mother?”

Ester’s eyes softened at her son’s question.

Humphrey was perfection in her eyes. He was so attentive. Of course he picked up on her overthinking.

“Those pups..” The woman started, “If they’re born? That means our family will forever be tied to the Addams.. to a group of humans.” She said in disgust. “Our reputation will be practically unsalvageable.”

Humphrey shared her distaste.

“They’ll be abominations the second they breathe earth’s air.” He said in agreement, “Enid must know that..”

Duke and Elliot exchanged looks before going back to slurping their nightly hot chocolate— not talking themselves just yet. Simply listening to the conversation.

“I just don’t know why she’d do this..” Ester said, “Enid marrying that girl was one thing but this?” She scoffed, “Having kids with her? It’s out of the question. We had so many great spouses picked out for her to choose from after she graduated Nevermore.. it- it’s ridiculous!”

Humphrey hummed, thinking to himself.

“Wednesday’s always been a problem.” He then said.

Ester rubbed her temple, nodding in agreement.

“She’s changed Enid.” His words went on, “She always been soft. Too soft to be a real wolf. It’s always been pathetic. Now? She’s nothing but a poor excuse of—“

“I don’t know, dude.” Duke spoke up, wiping whip cream off his upper lip, “Enid’s a pretty solid leader.”

Elliot nodded at his twin flames words.

They weren’t actually twins. Duke was older by a year but the two had always been inseparable like twins.

“Yeah, Duke’s right.” Elliot mused, “With Enid as our alpha, we’ve never gone hungry once! And Wednesday’s a little freaky but she’s decent enough. Without her? The pack would probably fall.. you know? Since she’s an omega that actually does her part and all..”

Duke nodded, slinging an arm over his brother’s shoulder. They may share a combined total of four brain cells but they were clearly more accepting about the whole situation than their mother and oldest brother.

Humphrey didn’t like what he was hearing..

But just as he was about to growl? Elliot said something that made him rethink a few things..

Without Wednesday? The pack would fall.

Enid..

Enid would fall.

Alpha’s never prospered without their true mates.

Yes. That’s right..

“Elliot.” Humphrey smiled a bit ominously, “You’re a genius, sometimes, I hope you know that..”

Elliot didn’t know that. He didn’t know a whole lot.

“Huh? Thanks..”

It was at that moment? That Humphrey began to form a plan. Ester noticed something was way off about the way her eldest son smiled seconds ago.. it gave her chills.

“Humphrey.” Ester said, “What are you going to do?”

The chair he was sitting in scrapped against the wooden floor as his stood up tall. It was almost humorous how his mother sounded— a mix of anxious and hesitant.

“Not me, mother.” He said, “We.”

“Us?” Duke pondered in confusion, pointing to himself.

Elliot’s nose scrunched in confusion.

Humphrey turnt on his heel to head to bed. He had a lot of planning to do. He needed his rest.

“We’re going to do what has to be done.”
