The soft tune of piano music
For as long as you knew Otto, you knew he liked musicals or classic music. He didn't listen to it to often but when he did it was a pleasant break from the normally loud day of New York.
And now on a Saturday morning you where woken up by the soft tune of piano music and the harsh smell of coffee.
You snuggled into your pillow one last time before getting up with a dissapointed grunt that the night couldn't last any longer.
You grabbed one of Ottos turtlenecks and put it on, because even with the warmer spring weather you where still freezing. It was to big on you, so it wrinkled a lot. but still layed comfortable on your skin.
You walked into the kitchen suspecting your boyfriend to read a book or drink coffee, but instead the room suprised you with a uncomforting emptiness.
The only thing seemingly to give a hint that he was here was the half donut and the coffee that was freshly brewed.
You smirked as you made yourself tea.
You weren't really a coffee drinker, nor could you understand why Otto or Norman drank so much off it, like their life dependet on it. Maybe that was just the faith of ex-villains.
Taking your fresh tea, you walked towards the music. With each step the music grew louder and closed you into this warm bubble of music, the smell of tea and the cozy warmth of Ottos sweater.
Entering the lab you saw your boyfriend standing in the middle of the room slightly dancing to the music.
Not a lot.
But moving from side to side as the piano changed notes. Two of his arms where helping him on something he seemed to work on while the other two had joined him in swinging to the music.
It was a delightful view, in the morning, and you admired your partner for a second.
The music changed to a slow violin part.
Otto started to Humm the melody, the deep of his voice was a beautiful contrast to the higher violin.
"Good morning darling" Otto's voice brushed through the room. As he looked over his shoulder with a smile "Did you sleep well?"
"I did" you smiled walking up to him.
"How about you? Did you wake up early?"
"Normal time. I wanted to fix something Norman gave me yesterday. And it seems like I was able to do it"
he gave you a soft kiss on the cheek after you arrived besides him.
Laying on the table infront of you was a old vinyl recorder. The music you've heard all morning came out of it.
You tilted your head as you tried to read what was on the vinyl cover. "Noctrune in E flat Major"
"Now my Dear. This is the old record player I used to have in college that Norman stole from me back in the day. And he decided it was time to give it back" he chuckled.
Norman's and Ottos friendship was so interesting to you.
You knew that they where friends in colleges, then turned rivals, both became villains and are now trying to live their life normally again.
And yet they found back to themself and picked up their collage friendship.
You liked it when Norman came around to help Otto on projects, or when you all enjoyed coffee and tea and talked about science and other things.
Sometimes you even got to know a little about both of their life's before all the villain things.
When both of them talked so calmly about their first love or projects they worked on in college.
When Otto talked about Rosie you listened very closely. You knew he was the love of his live. And that he still loved her. But you also knew that he loved you, as he reassured you everytime he started to catch himself, drifting into old memories. But you where fine with that.
He could love you both.
"Oh, I wondered where that sound came from" you smiled and leaned against ottos chest.
"Yeah I figured you would like it,darling" he took your tea out of your and and put it on the table.
He then placed both of his hands on your lower back and started to move to the music again.
For some time you just let him drive you into a slow dance.
The acusators where hovering just above the ground and moved with you and Otto.
A few minutes of silent slow dancing went by. You leaned you head against his shoulder. And kissed him softly on his neck.
"I love you" Otto looked into your eyes and smiled.
He had a kind of smile that always stunned you. So kind. So loving. And you only ever saw him smile at you or Rosie, in pictures, that way.
"Well you have the world's greatest boyfriend of course you do" you chuckled
"I do. I do." he softly placed a kiss on your forehead
"I love you too," you smiled, "As much as the power of the sun"
He cupped your face with his hands
"in the palm of my hand"
