Chapter 5
Holy fuck.
It was the only thought in your mind, how had this happened? You continued to watch the news report in front of your eyes, people were injured and dead. Emergency services had been heading to the hospital that Octavius had broken out of. In your sleep earlier that day, you had missed the original report of his fusion reactor blowing up. You didn’t know what to do.
You had missed your shot with the man of your dreams and now that he was considered a “supervillain”, you were most likely never going to see him ever again, unless it was behind bars. You ran your hands through your hair, sighing deeply. You stood from your position on the couch, walking to the kitchen to grab a glass of water in hopes that it would help steady your mind. One hand resting on the counter, the other lifting your glass to your lips to take sips from it.
You thought as you sipped your drink. It had been a few hours since the incident, you wondered where Otto had gone off to. Was there any reason to try and go after him? You were so zoned out, thinking of all the possibilities that came with this situation that you almost didn’t notice the change in temperature in your dark apartment, the only light being the one coming from the TV. You shivered, focusing back on the environment in your apartment. You felt like you were being watched.
Like every person in the basic horror movie trope, instead of leaving, you decided to look around your apartment to ease your nerves, figuring you only felt this way because of all the anxiety pent up from everything going on currently. You first checked the living room, it was clear. Then you headed to your bedroom and this is when your stomach sank for what felt like the hundredth time today, your window was wide open. You swore you had closed it. But maybe you didn’t? You began to question yourself, zoning out once more to recollect any thought of the past hour to try and figure out if you had actually closed the window or you had closed it in your head. You took quick notice to the floor, it had been snowing and only a bit of snow was stuck which meant you had closed it otherwise there would have been a mountain-
Your thoughts were quickly cut off by someone clearing their throat behind you, your eyes going wide, almost terrified to turn around and see who was lurking. The familiar smell of coffee and tobacco filled your nostrils faintly, this time it came with the distasteful smell of oil, metal, and dirty river water. Otto.
This realization made your head whip around, stumbling back against the window as you saw the man's bulky frame, this time it came with four extra limbs.
“O-Otto!” You stuttered out, the anxiety you felt in the situation was similar to the one you felt when you first laid your eyes on the man during your first day of class.
“That’s Doc Ock to you,” He said harshly, one of the four extra appendages reached out to you, chirping before snaking its way around your waist and holding you still. “I waited for you, Y/N.” His tone was cold, disappointment coating it.
“Otto-” As the name left your mouth, the metal limb around your waist tightened, a cry leaving your lips, terrified. “Doc, I wanted to come! I did! I just didn’t think it’d be a great idea considering how we,” You bit your lip, “I, how I, left things last time we saw each other.” You felt tears prick your eyes at the sweet memory you two had shared and now the man you were so in love with hours ago was about to end you or so you thought.
Octavius tutted in response, walking closer to your body that was still held by his actuator. You tried to read the expression on his face but it was nearly impossible with the glasses he was wearing. “It’s a shame.” The grip the appendage on you loosened to move up your body and to your neck.
“I would love to tear you apart for toying with my feelings like you did,” The grip on your neck tightened, closing off your airways. “But you’re such a pretty little thing.” A smirk played on his face, watching you struggle in his grip.
Your arms raised up, clawing at the metal wrapped around your neck, desperately trying to remove it from your neck or at least have it loosened so you could breathe. Your eyes were filled with nothing but fear and worry. You wriggled around in the grasp, becoming weaker by the second. You did the last thing your mind could think of and that was to kick him. You did and when it landed it was less powerful than you had hoped. It only earned a chuckle from the man that stood before you, shaking his head in response as he continued to watch you struggle. Soon enough, your vision began to go blank, falling limp and that's when he finally let go of your neck, grabbing you by the waist again.
Air filled your lungs quickly, causing you to choke. You looked at him, a desperate expression on your face as you coughed over and over again. You lifted your arms and slammed them down on the appendage that was keeping you captive. Doc Ock smirked, still watching your every move like a hawk. Your coughing began to slow, tears spilling over your eyes at everything happening. You didn’t know what to do. Now that he had you, he could do with you whatever he pleased. He was too big to fight back and even if you could fight him alone, his extra arms definitely weren’t anything you could get past.
“You’re going to come with me, no arguing about it. Pack a bag.” The limb let you go, snaking behind you and shoving you towards your closet. Doc Ock watched you, careful not to let you out of his sight so that you couldn’t do anything stupid.
You began to pack anything you thought you’d need but not packing nearly enough, in fear of taking too long. You packed a small backpack, looking at the doctor once you had gotten your necessities. He gave you a small grin in response, walking to you and running his hands through your hair.
“You’re such a good pet.” He said as he stroked your hair, the other free hand lifting to your cheek.
He wiped any tear marks that were left away with his gloved hand. You felt your heart swell at his praise in the moment, it meant so much more after he had almost killed you. You felt terrible for feeling this way given the situation but you couldn’t help it. You leaned into his hand, raising your hand to place it on top of his, holding his hand on top of your cheek. You smiled weakly up at him. You didn’t know what to say to him. You wanted to say that you were sorry, you wanted to tell him that you were so madly in love with him, there were a million things you felt you could tell him in the moment but your mind was so foggy you couldn’t even think of the words to say. You only leaned forward into Octavius’s face, placing a gentle kiss on his lips.
He returned the gesture, wrapping his arms around you tightly, this time making sure you weren’t going to leave his side, not again after he had lost you once. The kiss was held before you pulled back a few moments later.
“I missed you.” You admitted, not sure if you were allowed to miss him considering you were the one avoiding him and not the other way around. He nodded in agreement, taking in every inch of you as he held you tightly in his grip, a small smile plastered on his face.
