Past Revealed

                                                                                                   7,000 years ago

“I’m Ikaris.” Ikaris said standing in the Doma, the Eternals spaceship, as he looked at the man beside him who had stylish light brown hair and hazel eyes wearing black armor with golden symbols.
“I’m Asmund.” the man replied smiling at Ikaris before looking out to a blue planet outside of the Doma, “So that is the planet that we must protect from the Deviants.”
“It’s known as Earth.” Ikaris told him, “The planet has intelligent life forms known as humans, but they aren’t advanced enough to protect themselves from the Deviants.”
“Well, that is our mission then isn’t it?” Asmund questioned with a smirk as he looked back at Ikaris, “To guide them.”
“Ikaris and Asmund…” Ajak said coming into the room and both men turned to her, “We’re ready to land.”
“On our way.” Asmund replied nodding to the woman and he moved by her while Ikaris started to follow when Ajak stopped him.
“We need to talk about Asmund, Ikaris.” she said softly and he looked at her confused as he watched Asmund’s form leave down the hall of the Doma.
“Is everything alright with him?” Ikaris asked the Prime Eternal with concern and she moved gracefully towards the window looking out upon Earth with Ikaris following closely behind her.
“Asmund is a unique Eternal…” Ajak started to explain, “Each of you has special abilities to fight Deviants, but Asmund, he can copy and use the abilities of other super-powered beings, so he can use all of our abilities and that kind of power can be overbearing even to an Eternal, so he needs to be kept an eye on. I…”
“I’ll watch over him.” Ikaris offered almost immediately and Ajak looked at him surprised before smiling softly at the man, “If…if that is alright and I’ll be sure to complete my mission with helping the humans evolve enough to fend themselves from the Deviants.”
“Very well.” Ajak said nodding, “Asmund shall be under your care so be sure that he doesn’t crumble under his abilities.”
Ikaris bowed at her before leaving to join the others on Earth as Ajak looked after him before looking down upon Earth, sighing deeply as she hoped that Arishem was right in having Asmund join them on their mission to help mankind evolve.

                                                                                                       Present Day

Asmund sat on the roof of Ajak’s farm just learning that he was an Eternal, who traveled alongside Ikaris and the others on their ship, which meant that he was thousands of years old and unlike any human being even if they were super-powered mutants. He was taken by shock and disbelieve at this sudden revelation, which turned his whole world upside down knowing that his whole life had been a lie and that he had no recollection of his true past and could only wonder what else was a lie in his life.
Asmund Ikaris’ voice echoed as Asmund stared blankly at the Eternal, vision hazed and a tear falling down his face, “Asmund…”
Asmund broke from his thoughts as he came back to the present and looked at Ikaris numbly to see that the Eternal was truly concerned for his well-being and he wiped the tears away before clearing his throat.
“So…so I’m an Eternal like you.” he said slowly as he looked at the man who nodded, “And…we came to Earth together to help mankind defend themselves against the Deviants.”
 “That is correct.” Ikaris replied.
“Then what went wrong?” Asmund asked confused and angry to which Ikaris tilted his head in confusion, “Obviously something went wrong during our ‘mission’ to cause me to lose all my memories of being an Eternal and only waking up 8 years ago when I found myself held captive in a Russian complex until the Avengers saved me.”
“Asmund…I…” Ikaris started to say but Asmund stood up in a fit of rage and clenched his hands together as dark aura started rising from him again.
“What the hell happened to me, Ikaris?” Asmund growled clenching his teeth as his eyes started to turn full black when Ikaris stood up quickly and placed his hands on Asmund’s face, holding him gently.
“Asmund, calm down.” he said in a soothing voice, “Ajak can explain everything, alright?”
Asmund heaved deeply eyes flickering from black to normal as he glared at Ikaris, only to be lost in the handsome man's blue eyes and his rage ceased in an instant as he unclenched his fists and became drained from his all-out rampage that occurred earlier, causing him to fall down to sit on as Ikaris caught him in his arms and held him close as he knelt on the roof, allowing Asmund to lean on him for support.
“I got you, Asmund.” Ikaris said softly as Asmund clung onto the man while leaning against his chest and he heard the others finally coming up to the farm so he looked down at them, seeing that they all had looks of concern but he nodded at them signifying that he had everything handled, “Let’s go inside, shall we? Ajak would like to talk to you and explain things.”
When Asmund nodded, Ikaris picked him up in his arms and gently hovered down from the roof to guide him into the dining room while Ajak and the others came inside and the Prime Eternal went to make some tea while Sersi walked slowly towards Asmund looking at Ikaris to make sure that he was okay, and the Eternal nodded, reassuring her that Asmund would be okay which granted her a sigh of relief.
“Sersi and Sprite, can you go out to the garden and gather some food for a meal?” Ajak asked kindly and the two Eternals nodded before heading out as the Prime Eternal looked at Ikaris, “I would ask that you fly above the farm and keep an eye out for any more Deviants.”
Ikaris looked down at Asmund, who was running a hand through his hair as he continued to try and process everything that was happening, and Ajak walked up to them with two cups of tea in her hands which she placed on the table as she looked up at Ikaris.
“We will be alright here, Ikaris.” she said gently as she sat down in a chair near Asmund, “Asmund and I have some things to talk about.”
Ikaris nodded curtly before looking down at Asmund once more and then walking out of the house before taking up to the skies and keeping an eye out on the property as Ajak slid a cup of tea towards Asmund, looking at him with a tilt of her head as she waited patiently for him to wrap his mind around everything enough for him to ask her questions.
“What happened to me?” Asmund asked her quietly as he looked down at the floor.
“You have the unnatural ability to be able to absorb and use other super-powered beings' powers and you had 10 different abilities but no Eternal could handle that much power.” Ajak told him, “Your mind was fracturing and the only way for it to heal was for me to wipe portions of your memory.”
Asmund sat there as he reflected on what Ajak was telling him and realized that she must have continued to wipe portions of his memory each time he would go on a rampage, which meant that he had memories upon memories missing from his mind.
“How many times?” Asmund questioned as he looked up at her and she looked down shamefully, “How many times did you wipe my memories until you finally erased everything?”
“Once every 250 years…” Ajak told him and Asmund gasped in shock as he realized exactly how many times she had wiped his memories.
“28 times?” Asmund said in disbelief as he gasped in shock and Ajak looked at him sadly, “28 times that I went berserk and hurt the others?”
“It wasn’t your fault, Asmund.” Ajak told him as she reached out for him but he pulled back so she stopped and sighed deeply, “Arishem didn’t know that this would happen to you so there was no cure to it until I finally erased your memories and Arishem teleported you away.”
In horror, Asmund turned to look at her as she explained everything before he walked over to the kitchen with a dry chuckle as now he understood how he had ended up in a Russian apartment block with no recollection of his past and he looked out the window to the farm's front lawn to see Sersi and Sprite tending to the garden.
“Did I cause them a lot of pain?” Asmund asked with a heavy sigh and Ajak got up slowly to walk over to him, “Did I…did I mortally wound them during my blackouts?”
“Nothing that I couldn’t heal.” Ajak answered kindly and Asmund nodded as he felt a small sliver of relief and he leaned on the counter as he let out a shaky gasp, “You weren’t in control of yourself, Asmund and none of the others hold it against you. They all love you and pleaded for you to keep your memories all the times the rampage happened, but I had to erase a little at a time in order to calm down your rage until…”
“Until you had to erase it all and Arishem vanished me from you all.” Asmund said dryly as he pushed off the counter and turned around, crossing his arms as he took in a deep breath, “Is there a way to restore the memories?”
“Are you certain that you want to try and do that?” Ajak asked cautiously as she walked up to him with a tilt of her head, “If you aren’t able to control yourself, then we will have to erase them again.”
“I have to try.” Asmund told her with resolve in his eyes as he looked up at her and she looked at him carefully before nodding.
“I will try and talk with Arishem about it and hopefully, he has a way to restore your memories.” Ajak said and they heard footsteps coming into the room and Asmund turned to see Sprite and Sersi coming in with bundles of crop food in baskets, “Ah, come bring them over here girls…Asmund, you can go relax outside until dinner is ready if you like.”
Asmund nodded silently before leaving and passing Sersi and Sprite, who looked after him sadly as he stepped outside onto the lawn and gazed around at the large expanse of grass in front of him before looking up and seeing Ikaris floating in the air above him and he wondered what kind of past he shared with the powerful handsome Eternal prior to his memories being erased. As he looked around and saw no more Deviants coming, Ikaris took a deep breath before looking down to see Asmund walking towards the field with his hands in his pockets as if in deep thought, and Ikaris watched as the man sadly as he could only imagine what Asmund was going through and he could only hope Asmund would be able to forgive them for what they did to him especially after all he had done for them with saving them more than once with the Deviants and showing them how to live their lives to the fullest and connect with the humans while staying true to their mission of protecting mankind from Deviants. Asmund walked out a few yards away from the farm and stood on a hill, allowing the calm wind to blow through his hair as he stared into the horizon onto the setting sunset while he got lost in thought thinking about what the future may hold for him and he didn’t hear Ikaris landing behind him.
“Asmund…” Ikaris said softly and broke the man’s thoughts as he turned to see the Eternal standing there, “Are you alright?”
“That is kind of a broad question.” Asmund replied chuckling as he shook his head sadly and looked towards the setting sun, “How would you react if you found out that all of your memories are fake and you didn’t truly know yourself?”
“I can’t imagine what you’re going through, Asmund.” Ikaris said as he walked towards Asmund and stood beside him, about to reach towards him but decided against it and looked down instead, “I’m so sorry.”
“It isn’t your fault, Ikaris.” Asmund told him as he turned towards the Eternal and walked up to him, placing a finger under the man’s chin and lifted the man's head so Ikaris could look into Asmund’s eyes, “You have protected me from the Deviant and helped me calm down from my rampage…I’m just sorry that I hurt you.”
“No, there is no need to apologize.” the Eternal said shaking his head and moving closer to Asmund, “I will always be there for you no matter what, Asmund.”
Ikaris' blue eyes captivated Asmund as he found himself drawn to the Eternal and felt the man’s heat radiating off of him along with a scent of sweet musky cologne emanating from the man, which caused Asmund to feel intoxicated as he examined the man's face closely seeing it was beautifully shaped and almost angelic in appearance and yet somewhat rough from years of fighting against the Deviants.
“Ikaris…” Asmund said slowly as both men stood mere inches away from each other and he gulped nervously as his heart began to race and he became flustered at the close contact, “I…”
Seeing Ikaris looking at him softly and subconsciously biting his lip, Asmund found it difficult not to buckle to the ground right there and then as Ikaris leaned slowly towards Asmund, who was unable to move from where he stood and wasn't certain he would move even if he could. Despite not knowing precisely why he was drawn to Ikaris and felt safe with the Eternal and as he leaned in towards Ikaris, lips almost reaching, he could feel the Eternal’s hot breath falling upon his face as they inched closer towards each other.
“Hey, guys!” Sprite called out causing both men to back away from each other in shock as they broke out of their trance and turned to see her standing at the farm’s doorway, “Dinner time!”
She went back inside as Asmund chuckled nervously and cleared his throat as he ran a hand through his hair and looked away bashfully, unable to meet Ikaris’ gaze.
“Well, looks like we should have some dinner.” he said as he could feel Ikaris looking at him fondly and he could swear that the Eternal was grinning at his bashfulness, “Shall we go?”
“After you.” Ikaris replied as he bowed slightly and motioned the way for Asmund who smiled at the man and then lead the way towards the farm.

Several days; Asmund and the others made it to India, where Ikaris located another Eternal by the name of Kingo who was a Bollywood actor/director making a movie of his own and they arrived at the set to wait patiently for the man to finish his scene. Asmund looked around the set as the others watched Kingo dancing with his other actors and soon the scene ended as an older man came up to them.
“Ah you must be Mr. Kingo’s friends…” the man said as the Eternals looked at him confused, “I am Karun Patel, valet to Mr. Kingo and you must be Ikaris, Sprite, Sersi, and Ajak…and your friend?”
“I’m Asmund.” Asmund replied turning to the man and he heard music on the set stop immediately, causing everyone to look at the stage and an Indian man with flush stylish brown hair and brown eyes wearing a custom similar to Ikaris’ armor, staring at Asmund in shock.
“Asmund?” the man said stunned as he took a few steps forward before turning to the people on stage, “Take a break, everyone.”
Everyone on stage started to walk away as Asmund and the Eternals walked up to Kingo who looked at them in surprise and joy, hugging each of the Eternals until he came up to Asmund and sighed deeply as he looked at the man with a smile.
“I always knew that you’d find us again.” he said happily and Asmund titled his confused which caused Kingo to sigh in disappointment before turning to the others, “His memories are still gone aren’t they?”
“Yes and I am trying to get in touch with Arishem to restore his memories, but we have a big problem.” Ajak said and Kingo crossed his arms seriously, “The Deviants have emerged again.”
“Shit…” Kingo cursed as he ran a hand over his face, “Are we going after the others?”
“Gilgamesh and Thena are Australia.” Ikaris told everyone and Kingo nodded in understanding before looking at Asmund.
“Hope you’re alright with jets.” he said and he looked at Karun, “Go prepare my jet immediately.”
“Of course, Mr. Kingo.” Karun replied bowing deeply and leaving to go make preparations as Kingo turned back to his friends.
“Anyone hungry?” he asked with a clasp of his hands together and a big smile on his face.

Eternals and Deviants engaged in an intense war on different planets, but soon all memories of previous wars were erased from the Eternals’ minds and only one mission remained - defeat the Deviants and guide the intelligent life forms. There was an enormous humanoid being with six large glowing red eyes, towering above the different galaxies and as more humanoid beings appeared beside the first, screams echoing from thousands of planets with intelligent life forms echoed throughout the galaxies.
“The Emergence will come.” a grave male voice boomed from the first being, “Nothing can stop it.”

It was night outside as the other Eternals slept in their chairs and Asmund woke up startled from a nightmare, clenching the armrests of his seat as he looked over across the aisle to see that Ikaris was sleeping peacefully in his seat. Asmund ran a hand over his face, trembling from what he had seen in his dream, and he had no idea what that massive humanoid being was or what exactly happened to the other planets in the various galaxies, but one thing that he knew for sure was that he wasn’t going to let Earth be destroyed by this Emergence
