Note
Sorry not sorry for all the angst at the beginning.

Y/N couldn't believe it, Peter still hadn't shown up. It was 1 in the morning and she was sitting in Central Park with star charts surrounding her. She really shouldn't have gotten her hopes up.

This has happened to her since Freshman year of high school. Peter would always promise he would be their, then something suddenly came up. He would always show up the next day and apologize profusely, and Y/N would always understand.

But she was tired of understanding all the time. She grabbed her books and began shoving them in her bag, trying to hold back her frustrated tears. She wished Peter was her, even if she was mad at him.

She stood from her spot on the cold ground and began her walk back to her apartment. Just then her phone began to buzz, she looked at the caller ID, Peter. She quickly denied the call and continued on her way

'It's his turn to wait,' she thought with a bit of satisfaction.

Y/N awoke the next morning to 10 missed call and several worried text from Peter. The last one said he was coming over, her sent it 5 minutes ago. Y/N wasn't ready to face him yet. She quickly texted back that she was fine and didn't answer him anymore for the rest of the morning.

As she made her way into the University she had ever intention of avoiding Peter for most if not all of the day. This of course didn't happen as she heard her name being called through the crowd. She hurried her pace thinking she could lose him, she failed again.

"Y/N didn't you hear me calling your name?" He wasn't even out of breath after chasing her down.

Y/N simple glanced at him and remained silent. Peter sighed knowing he really messed up this time.

"I'm sorry Y/N I should have called," he offered, hoping to at least get a reply. She only quickened her pace and he had to jog a few steps to catch her again.

"You know I would have been there if something didn't come up, it was really important Y/N."

It was the last few words that made the dam break, she stopped dead in her tracks causing Peter to pass her. He spun around and faced her, he really wish he hadn't, the look of hurt on her face nearly shattered his heart.

"Important?... Important? Here I was thinking I was at least a little Important to you!" She spat out.

"Y/N... That's not what I meant," he couldn't take the waynshe was looking at him.

"Then what did you mean Peter? Because I would really like to know," she cut him off before he could answer. "No wait, let me guess, you can't tell me, I just have to understand right? Like I always do."

Peter tried to speak again but she quickly cut him off again.

"I waited for you for three hours Peter! I had to walk home alone at one in the morning," the tears she was holding back started to fall. "Peter all I've ever done was wait for you, through high school, prom, hell even my birthday! Never any explanation!"

A small crowd had stopped their tasks to not so descritly listen in. Y/N knuckles were turning white by how tightly she was squeezing the strap of her book bag.

"But I always understand, because I trusted you!" Peter moved closer and she took a step back, standing her ground. "I'm tired of it Peter, I can't do it anymore!"

"What do you mean?..." He whispered quietly, a tear falling from his own eyes.

"I want the truth Peter, it's not to much to ask," the people around them started to move again, heading to their classes. "You're my best friend, I've always told you everything, it's time for no more secrets, please... I don't want to lose you."

She turned abruptly and began to walk to her own class. Leaving a very stunned Peter behind. He wanted go after her but thought better of it. He looked in the direction of his own class and decided he wasn't going to make it, he had some thinking to do.

Y/N had such a large workload that she had managed to keep Peter off of her mind, which was no easy task. He always occupied some portion of her thoughts, she thought it would go away after high school, but it only got worse.

'Dammit,' she thought to herself, she let her mind wonder back to him. She sighed deeply as she closed her workbook and rubbed her eyes. They were sore from crying earlier.

She heard the 'Ding' of her phone and glanced at the screen, it was Peter of course. It was the first time he tried to contact her all day.

She read it quickly, he said they needed to talk and gave her an address. She debated on whether or not she was ready for the events that could happen, but decided she shouldn't delay the inevitable.

She got changed into something warmer before grabbing her jacket and keys. She gave herself a once over in the mirror before nodding to herself. She could do this.

After a very long subway ride and walk she made it to the address Peter gave her. She pulled her jacket closer due to the cold night air, that's when she noticed Peter. He was waiting by the alley and beckoned her over once she saw him.

"Peter, why are we here?" She asked once she reached him.

"It's a surprise, come on," he made his way to the nearby fire escape, lowering the ladder. Y/N stared at him in confusion.

"Uh, Peter?"

"Do you want the truth or not?" He gestured for her to climb, she sighed and joined him. He gave her a small boost up the ladder before following.

After a short climb Y/N made contact with the roof, she turned around and offered Peter her hand, he allowed her to hoist him onto the roof.

"Well let's hear it Parker," she said expectantly, crossing her arms.

"It's kind of hard to explain," he shifted nervously.

"You're not apart of a cult are you?" Y/N question caused Peter to laugh.

"No, why would you say that?"

"It's makes since with your weird behavior," Y/N reasoned, making Peter smile.

"Well it's not a cult, it's complicated... and hard to explain," he started to pace nervously.

"Well I got all night Parker," she leaned against the stairwell door.

"Do you remember in Freshman year when I first started acting differently?" She nodded, "well something happened, something crazy."

"What?" Her interest was peeked.

"Well what happened was-," he stopped, debating if it was the right thing to do. "I don't know if I should tell you."

"Really Peter? I came all this way for you to balk on me now? It can't be that serious," she moved closer to him.

"Y/N I don't-," she reached up and held his face in her hands.

"Peter I'm asking you to tell me, screw the consequences," he laid his hands on top of hers. "I'll understand, I promise."

He nodded slowly, finally making his decision. "Maybe I should just show you."

He broke away from her and walked to the ledge of the building before hopping onto it. He faced her, his heels hanging off the edge of the building.

"Peter what are you-," Y/N screamed his name as he fell backwards over the ledge.

"Nonononono... this is all my fault I pushed you to hard!... Peter?" Y/N had just looked over the ledge when she saw him.
He was giving her a large crooked grin as he stood on the wall of the building.

'Wait a second... standing?' Y/N thought to herself, realization dawning on her. She backed away from the ledge as Peter walked back onto the roof as if it were perfectly normal.

"How?... What?... Peter you can't be!" She exclaimed, he nodded in conformation.

"You're Spider-Man," she said as more of a fact than a question.

Peter smiled at her sheepishly, "surprise."

Her moment of shock soon turned to annoyance as she smacked his arm, "you kept this from me? How did you keep this from me is the more important question?"

Peter rubbed his arm were she hit him, even if it didn't hurt. "I didn't want you to worry about me."

"And disappearing without an explanation was better?" He gave her a nervous smile. Y/N shocked him by laughing, "I can't believe it, my best friend is Spider-Man."

Realization dawned on her again, "so if your Spider-Man, that was you fighting Vulture a few days ago! Peter he stabbed you!"

"Well yeah but you see- Hold on a second!" Y/N had quickly pulled up his shirt to where the wound should be but was met with his Spideysuit.

"That was my next surprise," Peter said scratching the back of his neck.

"Did you make this Peter?" Y/N asked, running her fingers along the suit. A shiver ran up Peter's side at the contact.

"Well I had a little help from you," she looked up confused. "Remember your 8th grade science project on highly durable synthetic fabrics?"

"So that's where that paper went?" He nodded. "Can I see the whole suit?"

Peter quickly began to strip himself of his layers, very aware of Y/N's watchful eyes.

She circled him as soon as he had finished and she could whole heartedly agree that nothing looked quite as good on him.

"I gotta say I really was expecting the cult thing, this is ten times better," Peter laughed again.

"Well I have one more thing to show you," he grabbed her hand and led her to the ledge of the building, her placed her arms around his neck. Luckily for Y/N he was to busy putting on his mask to notice the blush on her cheeks. "Hold on.

And with that he jumped, Y/N screamed out of shock as they went plummeting towards the city. Peter quickly released a strand of web and they were swinging through New York.

Peter made his way expertly through the many streets and alleyways, Y/N was having the time of her life. She didn't even notice they were on top of the Empire State Building until Peter gently set her down.

"Peter that was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced!" She laughed out in excitement.

"Call it a much overdue apology, this too," he gestured up towards the sky.

Y/N followed his hand and was amazed by all the stars she could see, she felt like she could almost touch them. "Oh Peter..."

Peter reached forward and pulled her to the ground as he took the seat beside her, removing his mask.

"I know I have a lot to make up for, I hope this is a start," he said as he watched her face light up as she studied the sky.

"That's all I ever wanted, I really missed having you around, I missed you Peter, but I understand why now," she placed her hand on top of his. "I'm proud of you Peter."

He gave her his usual crooked smile that she returned.

"I'm sorry, I really am Y/N, "he moved closer, their shoulders bumping.

"I know, but you're enough Peter, you're more than enough to me, Spider-Man is just an added bonus," they both laughed.

Peter looked at her closely, he couldn't believe he never told her after all the years they were friends. He needed to tell her one more thing, the only secret left between them.

"Y/N, you said no more secrets, we'll I have one more," he leaned in closer.

"Don't tell me you're actually in a cult?"

"Would you drop it about the cults," she giggled slightly.

"Y/N I've liked you since Freshman year and I've been in love with you since Senior," to say Y/N was shocked was an understatement, she was so stunned that she didn't even realize she launched herself at him, connecting her lips to his.

Peter held her close as she moved to straddle his lap. She carded her fingers through his hair as she pulled away, both breathing heavily. She leaned her forehead against his ad he pulled her impossible closer.

"Peter I have a secret too," she whispered in the small space between them. "I love you too."

She felt him smile against her lips as he connected them again, Y/N was in complete and total bliss. Things were as they should be just Peter, Y/N, and the stars.
