Across the multiverse, there were many, many possibilities. For instance, there is a universe where El was never taken from her mother, and lived a long happy life as Jane Ives.
However... not all universes are happy places. The El we will be focusing on today, she is damaged, to put it simply. Infected by an alien parasite, El miraculously subdued it's consciousness, but not without consequences.
As El tore through the lab, years after she had escaped, murdering everyone in sight brutally, the last thing anyone would see was the horrifying image of a towering, red monsters, black veins running across it's body.
Exiting the now burning building, El was met with a swarm of police, lights and guns pointed directly at her. She scoffed, unafraid of the sight, until she noticed someone in the sea of cops.
"Mike?" El questioned, her voice mixed with a deep, demonic sounding voice, as Mike tentatively walked towards her, the policemen all laser focused on the scene happening before them.
El's... face, for lack of a better term, seemed to peel apart, the demonic visage receding to reveal the El everyone was familiar with, minus a few differences. Her hair was a deep, dark black, red tips highlighted throughout her hair. El's eyes were mostly the same brown they'd always been, except her pupils were slitted, like a cat's eyes.
"El, please, just stop this, okay? Come home with me." Mike pleaded with her, tears in his eyes, and just for a moment he could see the El he loved, the kind person who saved his life, before her eyes darkened.
"I get it..." She growled softly, eerily unmoving. "It was all a trick... you're just like the bad men!" El yelled, the bloody mask reforming over her face, and before anyone could react, her jaws unhinged, revealing razor sharp teeth, and she bit down on Mike's head, tearing it off his corpse, killing him instantly.
"F-FIRE!" One of the cops shouted, all of them firing at the monster, who stood unaffected by the bullets, seemingly chewing and savoring the taste of Mike's head, before rearing back a leg, kicking the headless corpse hard enough into one of the police cruisers that it dented, nearly flipping over onto its side.
Roaring loudly, the monster's body became a living weapon, tendrils flying from all over its body, piercing numerous men and vehicles, causing them to explode in great fireballs of death.
"Run-" Before he could even finish, a sword made from the monster's flesh tore through his mouth, splitting his head open, a geyser of blood erupting from the open wound. Flopping to the floor, it was soon clear there was no escape.
In just 1 minute, everyone was dead, some having been given quick deaths. Others... weren't so lucky, the monster deciding to eat a few of them, while they were still alive. Above it all, a news helicopter hovered, the crew having captured the entire massacre on camera.
There were many things to call this monster, Death Incarnate, demon, monster, a living nightmare. But one crew member would utter a word, seconds before the monster leapt up at the helicopter, and the feed would go dead. This would come to be the designation of the being, one that it quite liked itself.
"Carnage..."
