Alone again
She felt guilt all the way to the deepest pit in her heart. If she could even call it that. She had no intention of meeting or going back with the other Eternals. No. She didn’t deserve to. So she ran. She ran and never once looked back.
Sprite hadn't expected to be found, but when she couldn't find a trace of Makkari anywhere, she began to have doubts. If she wanted to, the speedster could very easily track her down.
Her mind raced with the thought, 'But maybe they didn't want to find her.' That line of reasoning was enough to make her worry about it no more and continue her journey.
A few months later she went to Dane’s apartment. She told herself it was only to make sure that things were fine. Because if Sersi was still with Dane, it meant that everything was back to normal. Or as normal as it could be. But that wasn’t what she found. In truth, she couldn’t find anything. Nothing at all about Dane being there. She asked around and it turned out the man had left.
A small bout of panic rose in her, but she pushed it down. Maybe he moved. Maybe he and Sersi got a house together somewhere else. She took out her phone for the first time in ages and dialed Sersi's old number. Hoping that it was still the same. She wasn't surprised when no one answered, but her growing anxiety was amplified when she called her other family members, and no one answered. Surely not everyone changed their numbers, did they??
She visited Phastos’s home. Nobody was there.
What in the world was going on?
