Cuddles, Kisses, & Love, Oh My!
He was cuddling up with Wade when he first felt it. A small tingle ran up his spine stopping at his nape, sending a pleasant, warm feeling throughout his entire body. He felt it again a few weeks later when he saw Wade cooking dinner for them, a small smile spreading across his face as he felt the feeling once again. After two years of dating Wade, the feeling was welcome and normal in Peter’s life. He realized that it occurred whenever Wade was domestic around Peter or letting his guard down to the point where he could fall asleep around Peter without his mask or becoming anxious.
It was Saturday morning and the two were eating breakfast on the couch when Peter decided to tell Wade about his new, but welcomed, spidey senses.
“I tingle when I look at you sometimes, handsome.” Peter said nonchalantly, eyes not straying from the TV as he munched on some toast.
Wade stilled immediately, looking at Peter with lowered eyes as he blinked, trying to process what Peter could possibly mean when he said ‘tingle’. His mind immediately went to dirty thoughts but he shook his head, deciding that it was too early for those ideas lest he act on them impulsively. Not being able to come up with a reasonable explanation for the word, he awkwardly rubbed his arm as he asked,
“Baby boy, whatcha mean when you say the word tingle?”
Peter finally looked over at him with a loving smile and said, “Kinda like my spidey senses, but only when you’re all domestic and relaxed with me. Sends a warm feeling up my spine.” He ended his sentence with a kiss on Wade’s cheek then went back to eating.
Wade burst out laughing at this confession, reaching out to hold Peter’s face as he kissed his nose and cheeks.
“That’s called love, webs. It means you love me and to be honest I couldn’t be any happier than I am right now.” Wade’s smile was big and dopey as he kept kissing Peter’s face. Enamored with the fact that Peter loved him.
Peter let the barrage of kisses fall onto his face as his cheeks erupted into flames. A warm pink coloring them. He couldn’t believe he thought being in love was just a new spidey sense. But, his cheeks quickly lost their color as he wondered if Wade loved him back. Sure, they had been together for 2 years but that didn’t mean Wade loved him. For all he knew Wade could just like him. His past relationships had never gone this far, becoming as serious as theirs was in such a short time. He gently pried Wade’s hands off his cheeks and pushed his face back, sitting with a slightly defensive posture as he looked warily at Wade, anxiousness contorting his facial features.
“Do you… have the same feelings Wade? Y’know… the tingles?” Peter was now staring at the blanket with a clenched jaw, gripping it with a scary amount of strength.
Wade was now on the opposite end of the couch, looking at Peter with a concerned and slightly hurt expression at his statement.
“What…? Of course, I have ‘the tingles’ baby boy. How could I not? You’re perfect for me alright? I love you.” Wade scooted towards Peter and lifted his face up with one hand and smoothly pried his fingers from the blanket with his other, giving Peter a small smile as he kissed Peter, repeating the words ‘I love you’ every time he kissed him until Peter covered his face with his hands.
“ ‘m sorry Wade…” he mumbled. “I uh… well I know you know this but I love you too, handsome… just wanted to tell you properly.” He then looked up at Wade, laughing when he saw his cheeks turn cherry-red.
The rest of that day was spent in the other’s arms, and both were relieved that they felt the same towards each other for they both had been scared to confess such strong feelings in fear of rejection.
