Ganke barely got the camera up in time to catch the moment that justified exactly why he rewatches some of Miles' clips over and over again.
He'd grabbed Scorpion by his tail and whipped him head first into the road, leaving an imprint of the top half of his metal exoskeleton in the concrete. Miles doesn't let him get up, grasping the poisoned blade on the stinger, sending electricity down the tail and into his spine.
"You're gonna paralyze him. Loosen it up." Ganke scolds in his ear.
"He'll be fine, there's a barrier between him and his tail. I just wanna blow it off."
"Pause." Miles shakes his head loosely, Ganke proud of his dumb joke. He settles back in his seat, promptly falling off his chair when the metasomal segments started popping like popcorn.
"Shit dude." Gwen calls from the side, "How'd you do that?"
"Bioelectricity- don't look at me like that man I'll explain later." Gwen just shakes her head and breaks Kraven's spear (when did Kraven join the fight?) in a few bends, tossing it down into a trash can.
Ganke's still trying to process what the hell he saw (and exactly how that one handed toss made him feel inside) when Liv comes in and catches Miles by the wrist. His first camera's covered and he feels like Miles just rolled his eyes through the mask. Miles looks at his other wrist cam, laughing involuntarily and Ganke follows, confirming that he in fact did do just that.
"Now kid, you're probably wondering where and how the villains got out so quickly- well it's simple. I let them."
"Outta where Liv? Staten Island Zoo?"
"I don't take kindly to sass, young man."
"But you take kindly to May's strap hunh?" Ganke chokes on his coffee. Yeah, they're making plans to go to Aunt May's house immediately.
Their banter stops as soon as it starts, Miles ripping himself free, with pieces of the tentacle clanging as they get stuck to the side of the building. Liv must realize her mistake as she falls, mechanical arms getting tangled in webs from both directions.
"Extraordinary..." she croons, slashing her way out. "...A blend of arachne and human so cohesive." Strike.
"So effortless...a dissection will be necessary to satiate my curiosity."
"Why is she talkin' like a Dark Souls boss?"
"No really where's the health bar at." Gwen adds in, giggling as if their lives aren't in mortal danger.
"Will you cretins shut up?!" Olivia barks.
"You shut up you cephalopod cunt." Miles snaps, releasing another surge of electricity into her tentacles.
"My my, you kiss your mother with that mouth?"
"You let May break that beak of yours downstairs? Yes, yes I do." That joke had layers.
Ganke pauses the livestream but not the mic feedback. The freeze frame caught Gwen's gasp, a hand over her mouth. Liv kicked into gear two with two of her tentacles remaining.
"We might actually get the stream taken down bro chill out." Ganke's gasping for air, coughing, a single tear streaming down his face.
"She and Scorpion almost killed you this morning, I think she can stand a few jokes."
Miles' voice kicked down a few notches, eventually turning into more of a groan. The fight was lasting pretty long- Gwen hopped off to find backup at some point. Ganke turns down the stream audio this time, he'll just edit it out.
"Is that why you jumped out mad this morning?"
"Yeah! Why do you think I'm fighting like this?"
"Fighting recklessly? Fast and aimless?"
"I'm fighting fast and hard cause I don't know if he poisoned me yet." Ganke watches Cindy hop into frame on Miles' left, and Gwen shoots him a look that says go back home.
So he does, hopping away from the fight before he does something he'll regret.
Ganke knew something was off, the way Miles nearly lost his grip on the windowsill. Well, there wasn't much to hang onto anyway, but still. Dragging Miles into their bathroom, he plops him on the toilet where he coughs up something vile into the sink on the right.
"Shit- he got you good." Ganke mutters, green blossoming on the outer edges of his cuts. One on his hand, deep and sickly green from the tip of the blade. The one on his forearm wasn't as deep, but still quite deadly. Had it actually gotten to Ganke's neck, he'd have been dead before he reached the bathroom.
"Green flowin' through my veins while I'm brown call ne a money tree."
"Miles...what?"
Oh, he's out of it alright. Ganke puts his head in his hands, letting out a sigh he'd been holding in ever since Miles became Spiderman. It dissolved from irritation to a strained laugh, giving into the absurdity of his situation.
Ganke composes himself and readies the needle. "Heads up, this might hurt."
"Can't be that bad." Miles clutches his arm from the reaction almost immediately. He accidentally cracked the toilet handle off too, from when he pushed up against it.
"Sorry...you need the other arm too though."
"I think only one will-" Miles was cut off by the next dose going into his arm, Ganke kissing him as a distraction.
"And you call me reckless. We don't even know if the poison spreads like that."
"If it did, I'd be dead." Ganke pecks his cheek and hops off his lap. True.
"Thanks babe."
"No problem."
Cindy coughs over the line. "Stop making me feel single."
"Okay then find some balls to jingle. Tis' the season after all."
Ganke hollers at that, cutting the feed entirely. The fans had gotten enough content out of the Spiders for one day, perhaps a little too much of it from his boyfriend.
