"There's too many damn cars out on this street." Jeff groaned, Miles continued scrolling through his phone in the backseat.

"We're in a traffic jam and it's rush hour, we'll be okay." Rio sighs, "It is pretty annoying though."

Miles jolts up in the backseat, glancing out the windows and mirrors. Ganke snorts until he remembers Miles is Spiderman, and that distant crackling from his right is nothing compared to the crunching of cars and squeaky tires to their left. Miles doesn't know who it is, there's too many villains with the ability to fly.

Then the villain dives down, snatching a blade from his wings- chucking it straight at their back window. It would've hit his dad right in the neck. Instead the window's broken and Miles' hand has a pretty nice blade in it.

Ganke winced, that's definitely gonna need stitches- but he can't do anything until Miles' nerves reconnect themselves.

Jeff's hunched over in the front, covering Rio from the rest of the debris. Ganke looked over at Miles and didn't say a word, just handed him the mask and gloves from his pocket.

"Gracias, mi amor." He pecks him on the cheek and slips out the back.

"Boys, are you alright?" Rio glanced back to find blood on the seat and screamed at Miles being missing.

"He'll be fine, Ms. Morales. Trust me."

"What do you mean he'll be fine?"

As if on cue, Spiderman webs the Vulture to the bridge by his wings. He's gotta admit, it's a pretty cool design for them too. Silver blades at the bottom for the second row of feathers, the actual green wings sitting on top.

The Vulture raises his talons, clawing the webbing away from his chest. Damn, he forgot about his feet- not like it matters anyway, his wings were the real problem. And as he plummets down onto a car below, wings bound and stuck together, Miles knew they were dealt with.

Now, to deal with the sixteen car pile-up. Check if there's anyone alive, most were, few were not. Then, start chucking their cars to the side- stack them up even. He wants to see how many stacks he can make on the side of the bridge. He would've done two of eight, but four of four would have to do.

With that done, it's time to get back to his parents. He found their car pretty quick from the furious honking from behind them.

Miles zipped into the car and planted himself right underneath the seats. Ganke's never seen Miles dress this fast in his life- well, except for that one time when Gwen came over while they- nevermind, his jacket's back on. Ganke was about to say something when Miles smacked his foot. Jeff and Rio looked back at the source of the quake, and Miles was right where they lost him.

"Miles, where the hell were you?"

"I was just on the floor, the Vulture threw something and I ducked. Stayed down there in case he threw something else."

"Oh, well...let's go then."

Ganke drew his lips into a line, Miles giggled into his sleeve. If they spoke now they were going to lose it and never compose themselves, so Ganke went straight to texting Miles.

all i saw was you jump in at fucking mach speed and slam against the seat

and then the car shook like a fucking maraca

OLEAAE GANKW

what else was i gon do?? open the door???

YES????

AND HAVE THEM KNOW I WAA GONE????

sir i think they knew from the mag 9 earthquake you made

fuck you 😭😭

He looks Miles back over, and those little red patches on his jacket look oddly familiar. And since when does Miles wear anything dark brown? Wait...that's his maple jacket! He's been looking for that since October.

bro r u wearing my jacket

Miles looks out the window, scratching the back of his head and all. He stole one of his bracelets too, and Ganke twiddled with it while he texted him back.

no...yea...

i took it on that 2 week long mission months ago cause i missed you and it smelled good

then i forgot to give it back

you missed me?

yeah! i always miss you when i go off on patrols

i mean i miss you all the time but yk

Ganke blushed, Miles kept looking out the window, a goofy smile plaguing his face. The lovers didn't see Rio glance at Jeff with a sly grin, nor Jeff fish a few dollars out of his front shirt pocket and slap it in her hand. He sighed, looked in the back mirror and couldn't help but shake his head. He's not homophobic, he just didn't want to lose twenty dollars.

Miles and Ganke were left to clean up the glass in the backseat as "ride tax", meaning they had extra time to themselves.

Ganke hesitates on picking up the smaller shards. "Miles, do you know how to clean up glass?"

"No, but this should work."

Miles had his hand splayed out to get the pieces when Ganke finds a vacuum cleaner in the trunk. To his horror (but not surprise), Miles still picked them up like that, a little mosaic scattered across his hands. How is this man still alive?

"Wait let me get that- Ow."

"Your other hand still hurts right?"

"Yeah, the veins just reconnected-"

"-Good, hand me the first aid kit from under the seat."

A little extra time never hurt, not when Ganke had an ice pack to numb his hand, or the decency to kiss the back of it every few stitches.

Rio pops up, she forgot her own keys in the car. "Boys are you done- Miles! What happened?"

"Mom, I'm fine. Ganke's patching me up."

"That wasn't my question."

Shit. "I- I just cut my hand on the glass, that's all."

Her son's nonchalance was the first red flag, even if generally painless, people still wince a few times due to the sensation. Also, why were Ganke's stitches so good? You don't get that good unless you practice often on real people and- Miles was his practice.

"Mom, trust me. I'll be fine."

"Yeah, okay. Ganke, keep an eye on him for me."

This dork did a salute to his mom. "Will do Ms. Morales."

"Ganke, honey- you can call me Rio. I'll see you boys inside."

Ganke finished closing his hand up, wrapping it up as Rio left them alone again. He's cutting the excess wire when Miles notices how giddy Ganke just got.

"The hell you laughin about."

"That thud you made when you slammed into the seat."

Miles covered his face with his free hand, the whump he made played over and over in this head. Ganke's remembering the little ripple Miles' body made as he sprung back and dropped down.

It wasn't that funny, but when your brains' blurring it frame by frame- it's pretty damn funny.

"Ganke I think we need a new account."

"Spidermemes?"

"Spidermemes."
