Valentines?
Peter Pan's Doughnut and Bakery Shop, somewhere Peter Parker visited often. Now it wasn't because he woke up every morning thinking about there black coffee and it definitely was not because he really enjoyed the doughnuts, he went everyday to see a certain someone, a certain Mj (Michelle Jones if you are not friends with her but Peter had earned the privilege of calling her Mj after tipping her 15 dollars one day)
But today was an extra special day it was Valentines Day! Peter had come up with a plan to give Mj flowers (Black Dahlias of course) but didn't want to seem creepy, he also remembered Mjs opinion on Valentines Day
"I heard a goat and a dog were sacrificed by men on these days and women were whipped with the hides of the sacrificed animals as it was believed that this will make them fertile and then someone decided to make it romantic and put it on the 14th of February"
So he wasn't sure if Mj would be to happy with him buying her flowers to celebrate this day. So instead he showed up to Peter Pans at his usually time around 7:51 empty handed.
The usual bell rang and Mj looked up from her notepad which she was using to finish of some homework. Mj took night classes in NYU so she could stay in the city and still earn some money to pay her gigantic tuition.
Peter walked up to the counter, more nervous then usual.
"So the usual black coffee today Parker or are you deciding to spice it up because it's "Valentines Day". She asked
"Oh no I'm sticking with my classic black coffee" Peter replied making weird finger guns and pointing at Mj, Which he immediately regretted until he heard a small giggle come from Mjs mouth.
"So Valentines Day?" He said
"Yup" she replied dryly
"Do you have a Valentine?" He asked
"Nope" she deadpanned
"Oh" replied Peter
"What" she asked
"Nothing, I just thought that harry guy was totally gonna ask you" He said
"Yeah same actually" she said, shocking Peter a little.
"You know I have always hated Valentines day, but for some reason this year I was excited for it, maybe because I thought someone was actually gonna ask me"
"Why have you always hated Valentines Day?" Peter asked
"Well there is like a pretty dark history around it and I'm not really in to supporting that. And I also hate roses and there like the token Valentines flower so like that wouldn't really work, you know"
Peter nodded
"So do you have Valentine Parker" She asked
"Who me? Pfft no"
"Really?" She asked surprised
"By the way all the girls thirst over you on campus I for sure thought someone was gonna ask you" she said
"well I mean people did ask me, I just said no" he said
"Oh, well anyway here is your coffee, have a great Valentines Day Parker" she said with a wink
Peter smiled back and left the shop, that familiar bell ringing.
Peter was almost skipping down the street trying to find a flower vendor that sold black dahlias, which was harder than it sounded.
When Peter finally found one he looked for the most beat up bunch because Mj preferred them that way, which actually worked in Peters Favour cause the guy gave him some money of on them. (Being spider-man doesn't pay very well, in fact not at all, so Peter is pretty money tight)
Peter practically ran back up the street this time. Back to Peter Pans.
He walked in (trying to look casual), that familiar bell ringing again.
Mj looked up to see a very red faced Peter Parker holding a bouquet of black dahlias, that looked rough might she add but that was fine cause she likes them that way .
Peter walked up to the counter and looked a laughing Mj in the eyes.
"Who are the flowers for mr. redface" Mj said between giggles
"You" he replied out of breath
Mj stopped laughing.
"Me?" she asked confused
"Yes you, you said you didn't have a Valentine and I felt bad, even though you said you didn't even like the holiday, but I still thou-"
Mj gave Peter a peck on the lips
"And you kissed me" Peter said dumbstruck
"Thank you so much Peter! How did you know these were my favourites?" She said
"Just took a guess" he said "I hope you like them, even though there like kind of like beat up"
"I love them Peter!" she said
"Oh I also got you so vouchers for free ice cream if maybe you like wanted to go get some with me toni-" he was cut off
"yes" she said happily
"yes like you'll go?" he asked
"yes" she said again
"ok meet me outside Delmars at 7:00?" he asked
"meet outside Delmars at 6:55" she said
" uh ok , see you there" he said with a small wave as well.
Mj came out from behind the counter and kissed peter again, this time Peter kissed back.
"Hey Michelle get that out of here! That is a health a safety breach" Shouted Mjs boss
"This whole place is a health and safety breach" Mj snapped back
"Whatever get back to work!"
Mj and Peter laughed.
Then gave each other a small awkward wave (both blushing wildly) and Peter left, already thinking about tonight.
