Chapter 2 - Tony
Reworking the accords to be fairer and the pardoning of the avengers has been an exhausting process for everyone involved.
Eventually three months after the ‘civil war’ the avengers were finally together once again.
The one condition was that ‘the rouges’ must stay at avengers tower and try to avoid conflicts unless they were ‘world-ending’ for a while, so they can regain the trust of the public.
This was the only possible way the avengers would be allowed back into the US, though they did try their best to protest against this they eventually settled on the condition.
Everyone involved has spent countless hours trying to fix the relations between the avengers.and the UN.
Tony Stark had been especially caught up in it, he has had no time to think about anything outside of it.
And a certain Spider-Boy is just adding stress.
The constant texts and voicemails have been driving Happy insane, most of the conversations he has with the man are now just him complaining about the boy.
He kinda feels bad for using the kid and then ghosting him when he lost his usefulness.
But not bad enough to do anything to fix his mistake.
It’s far easier to ignore his problem.
Plus he has far larger problems at the moment anyway.
The avengers have moved back in, and he hates it.
He thought that if he solved the issue and fixed the accords then he could live his life in peace. No more avengers.
But it didn’t go as planned, as usual.
Another of the conditions for their pardoning was that they must stay somewhere where they can be supervised around the clock, and they requested avengers tower.
And because god hates him, they were granted it and the avengers were to move in a week from that decision.
That week passed far too quickly and now most of them are living with him, Clint and the strange shrinky-man are back with their families on house arrest.
He hates it, how can he live with them just floors beneath him?
At least he moved his stuff from the communal floor long before they got there, they don’t need to know that he spent most of his time there reminiscing on the good times.
They don’t need to know that he would rewatch old security tapes of when the were all together and wish none of this had ever happened.
They don’t need to know, Stark men are made of iron and he intends to keep that image.
He struggles to stay in the same room as them, they try to act as if it’s normal, as if nothing ever happened.
He can’t stand it so he avoids it, turns out he does that a lot.
And thank god Barnes will remain in wakanda, sadly only for another month. He provided the Wakandans with BARF so that they can get the winter soldier out of his mind.
But he would never tell that to anyone, he also swore the wakands to secrecy.
He feels guilty about attacking him, he knows that the man who did it wasn’t really the man who did it. He knows that his anger was misplaced, but he reacted in the moment and he can’t take that back.
That moment changed everything, the moment Rogers slammed the shield, His FATHERS shield, into his chest with no remorse. Thinking rationally he knows that Rogers was trying to disable the suit but in the moment all he could see was the rage coating those eyes.
Something that may haunt him forever.
He can’t even look him in the eyes now or he fears he will slip back into that moment.
Many times he’s considered going back to drinking, but he couldn’t do that.
Though the temptation is excruciating sometimes, it’s near impossible not to.
It’s not like he has much reason not to; Pepper left, Rhodey hardly visits, who else does he have?
But he knows that he would prove many people right if he relapsed, so he doesn’t.
Spite is the way he has made it through a lot in his life and he’d be damned if he gave up now.
