Chapter 11

You walked from the laundry room after putting on your dry clothes. Bakugo was talking to Deku about his insane determination to get water. "Bakugo stop tormenting him." You sighed. "Oh come on Y/N it's funny!" Bakugo protested. "I'm not laughing." You frowned. "Then you don't have my humor." He pointed out and retaliated with a smirk.

If you could, you'd smack it off his face. Izuku silently ate, you sat next to him. "Are you going to change clothes after you eat? You're going to have to change clothes anyway, me and Bakugo wanted to go to the mall and you're going to come along! If you.. Want." You quickly added, not wanting to drag him with you yet wanting to do exactly that.

"Sure, I'll come along. I don't have anything better planned and I've been needing to s- swing by there.." Swing? He said 'SWING.' I mean you knew what he meant but you didn't know there was a huge secret behind his chosen word. "Was that a Spider-Man reference?" You asked with an innocent smile. Izuku only nodded. "You two, hurry up."

Bakugo jeered. "I'm going to go.. Get dressed. Deku ran to his room and got dressed, he wanted to wear something casual and something you'd like but he wasn't that close to you yet to know what you liked in style so he just put on a shirt and some comfortable sweats. An easy outfit, nothing too complicated. He grabbed his tiny backpack that had his suit in it. He always brought it everywhere he went ever since he became Spider-Man.

Deku walked out of his room, seeing you and Bakugo having a nice conversation. "Hey, I'm ready." He interrupted. "Let's go" Bakugo walked out the door, you followed. Izuku put his shoes on then followed as well, closing and locking the door behind him. Soon they arrived at the mall. You, Bakugo and Deku all walked in, Bakugo immediately made a bee line for a store, leaving you and Deku alone, you looked at him.

"Where should we go?" You asked Izuku, he looked around. "I don't know.. Maybe to the… He trailed off, staring at something, you followed his gaze to a store. He stared at it for a long time, he was either focusing on something or he was trying to make sense of the store window he was looking at.

Then all of a sudden a bookcase came flying out of the store, just before it could hit you and Izuku he dove and pushed you out of the way, falling onto you. "Run." He commanded as he stood up. "What abou-" Izuku shot a glare at you. "Run" He repeated himself. You nodded and ran out the mall.

Izuku ran off into an abandoned store nearby, he made sure that the store had an emergency exit and hid in the dark as he put his suit on, running out of the store afterwards. Izuku webbed the alleyway walls and swung out into the city then he swung back to the mall.

"Spider-Man!" A crowd cried out as Spider-Man swung into the building "Bad idea, bad idea!" He yelped. He slid through the scared people running out of the building until he stopped himself causing a traffic jam as well as people tripping over themselves. Ah yes; as if today couldn't get anymore embarrassing. People scrambled to get up.

Izuku needed to interview one of these people and ask questions but he was now too embarrassed and now going into this blind. Spider-Man ran into the store. Someone had a gun. "Look… We can work this out." A person tried to negotiate. Spider-Man slowly got down then he snuck behind a bookshelf, he got a closer look at the people.

The person who is currently trying to negotiate with the person with the gun was Bakugo because, of course it was. "Always trying to play the hero…-"

Spider-Man pointed out before his Spidey senses caught his attention.“Soon the people will remember the reason why fear freezes you!” He yelled before
He shot the gun. "Watch out!" He screamed, grabbing the bullet with a web then knocking the gun out of the guy's hand with another web.

"Spider-bug.." The guy hissed with a snotty tone. "Spider-bug?" Izuku questioned. "It's Spider-Man, actually!” He webbed his back then yanked him, making him fall then he wrapped him in a web. The hostage he had ran off. Izuku looked around to see if everyone was okay, while checking, he noticed Bakugo was gone.

He looked around for him more but he had disappeared. Izuku wondered if he went to comfort you and let you know he was okay. He escorted everyone out of the mall with the culprit in hand, after everyone was out he then gave the bad guy to the police, then he walked back in and returned to the abandoned store “Okay… Everyone is okay now to get dressed.”

After Izuku got dressed he walked out of the store and noticed you were also gone… Did they really just leave him for dead?- Izuku webbed himself up onto the mall then he went back to the store. His stuff was there at once. He got dressed in his normal clothes then he checked his phone. You had texted Bakugo, got extremely upset for some reason and ran off, you followed him.

Izuku put his phone back into his pocket then he went out into the alleyway again, everything was okay until his spidey senses went off and a scream bounced off the walls of the alleyway, it sounded like it was nearby. He didn't have his suit on but his body ran after the scream without any warning. The screaming continued "Help, Venom!" Those two words made Deku run faster.

Whoever this person was, they were in danger and it worried him. Izuku stopped realizing something; you were out there with Bakugo. Venom attacks people that knew his most recent victim. It's been years yet Venom hasn't killed anyone else, with this in mind, Izuku started swinging to get to the person faster.

Finally the voice was getting a lot closer. He heard whimpers and it sounded like your voice. "Please.. stop." You said, your voice was shaky as you were backed against the wall.

You felt something grab you, the next thing you know you were being quickly pulled up into the air against the building you were being backed into. "Are you okay?" You blinked as you realized you were brought up by Izuku by… A web. Before you could say anything you saw venom climbing the wall, next the world was extremely blurry and bursts of rapid air made your hair bop, you were.. Swinging? This is too much information, Izuku is Spider-Man!

You were too in shock to process this, Izuku kept looking at the back of him to try and see if venom was chasing us. He was swinging while looking away, yet he was making sure to stay in the shadows so his identity wouldn't be revealed to anyone but you and- venom of course. You couldn't lie, it was impressive. "Hey! Are you okay?" Izuku asked you- his eyes looked directly into yours. His eyes shone with determination, determination to keep you safe.

You managed to nod through your shock, only a nod to answer his question but it was better than nothing. Izuku let go of his web and held you in his arms while he slid across the concrete, coming to a stop, he put you down and looked around. "Lost him…"

You looked around as well, not knowing where you were, but you weren't as concerned as you were with what the heck just happened. "You're- You're Spider-Man!" Izuku looked at you, he became timid and he blushed. (As usual) but this time, it was different, he didn't embarras himself, he exposed himself. He was a superhero!

"This means that you've saved me 2 times now. I can’t believe it." His blush became more vibrant. "Well, here I am. I don’t exactly fit in the definition of hero, huh?" You tilted your head, "No, no.. You do.

I'm actually glad that you're Spider-Man and not some random creep. But you definitely fit the definition of 'hero.' Whatever that definition is at least- its you." His cheeks, no, his face matched the color of the red label of a Coca-Cola bottle. "Well thank you.. Y/N'' he mumbled.

"You're welcome. "So… Now what do we do?" You asked. Izuku'his face turned serious yet the blush was still there. "Go home Y/N, then meet me back at the alley way we were just in, I’m going to end this. I need to grab some things." "Okay." You agreed to go to your house. Venom could be anywhere. "Be safe, are you sure you want to walk there, we could swing" I’ll walk. I want to talk to you, we’re going the same way anyway."

You smiled. Izuku smiled back and grabbed your hand as he started to walk with you. "...You're Spider-Man,I'm sorry, I keep repeating myself." You sighed. "No, it's okay. I had to repeat it a few times to get used to it myself." He comforted.

The wind blew in your guys hair as you both walked. “Is that why you were so excited about the kids drawing- was it because it was you and me?” Izuku hid his face in his shirt, although his breath refused to be hidden, you watched white smoke come out of Izuku's shirt. Your footsteps echoed on the street, each step familiar past stores felt uncanny and unfamiliar. Izuku stayed silent, your question went unanswered. While walking you looked up at the sky.

You looked behind you as you left the afternoon and welcomed the dark, dozy sky. It was always weird to you that as the afternoon hit, darkness took it over. Some parts of the city were light and night hadn’t stretched far enough to grant those people sleep, while the other side had already been blanketed in darkness. You both split, hoping Venom wouldn’t find you.

In silence Izuku had finally reached his house, he stuck to the wall as he opened the window to his room. Once he stepped in, he noticed it was unusually quiet, he slowly opened the door, seeing black sludge on the walls.

His face drew pale as he proceeded to investigate. He walked out to the living room, it was clear, Izuku let his guard down only to hear ominous sounds coming from the kitchen. The bangs of pots and pans, the eerie sound of someone.. Crying.

He stepped closer to the kitchen.. A pool of blood greeted him at the entrance while the smell of it infected his nose. He walked in further, making sure to be weary of the blood as well as any more, stepping over it. Once he was inside the kitchen, he saw someone in black sludge, crying over Mitsukis body.

Izuku's vision went blurry before he could see who venom was once and for all. Whoever they were, they looked at Izuku before the symbiote took over and tried to tackle him, fortunately, he was able to web and cling onto the top of the arc way of the kitchen entrance before he got hurt.

Venom paused for a second, looking like he was processing what he just did, Izuku webbed himself to Mitsukis body to check her pulse while Venom distracted himself. Her pulse stopped, she was dead. Yes Izuku knew she had died.

He also knew that he got here too late to save her, her skin was cold. Izuku stared at her corpse, he swayed his head to the silence of the house. The rattling sound was back again, all the lights in the house
blurred together.

Until a violent scream traveled throughout the kitchen and ambushed his ears. Sounds were louder than they were and it seemed like it was bouncing. No- not like that. His heart seemed like it was a lion pouncing every which way to catch a meal.

Izuku's eyes were glued onto the corpse of Mitsuki, his head went round and round ears were hypnotized by the sound of static as the lion who took over his heart began to claw and bite at it. Izuku slowly got up, he looked at venom who was currently on the move to his room. With all of the boys might he took a step toward Venom. All of a sudden his vision went hazy. “Izuku! Come here, just a few more steps.” Inko brightly cheered her son on.

A cooing baby Izuku walked to his mother, his hair was smaller yet fluffier, he was wearing a onesy All Might suit. “Mommy!” He called out. Inko held her hands out for him. “Come on just a little further! Just one foot in front of the other.” Izuku took one last step. He was finally in his mothers arms.

She looked at him with awe and mothers love. Her body was warm and comforting. “Izuku..” she said, causing him to look up at his mom who currently held him in her arms. “Im so proud of you. I’ll be watching over you and Y/N, promise. I love you.” Izuku's body felt warm then hot, it was as if flames took over his entire body. He snapped back.

One foot after the other, more velocity than the last step, more determination, he charged toward venom, webbing him. He webbed venom to the hallway walls in his sides so he was ultimately off the ground, venom quickly began scratching through the webs.

While he was busy Izuku ran back to his room. Grabbing everything in sight and packing it in his backpack. Venom banged on the door. He was running out of time, Izuku climbed out the window and stuck to the cold outside wall.

“You let him get away!” Venom growled. “Talk to me! Talk to me, talk to- don’t tell me you’re dead! Damn It, damn it! Izuku silently climbed down the wall, running off when he got to the ground.

Later in the night Izuku arrived back at the alleyway. “You're back.” He noticed a grateful grin on his face. “Yeah I'm back. Why would I leave you, Spiderman.” You teased. He smiled for a moment then left his grin lips and once more his ears dulled; his eyes teared up.

“Y/N… I've got some bad news, it’s about… He wiped his eyes mid sentence then he continued to wipe them voicing out a woeful sob, you stared at him, concerned of what was making him wail so hard. “Misuki… She was.. Killed by Venom.” You stared at Izuku, wanting to say something but choking back your own tears in the process.

You weren’t going to risk breaking down with him, Venom was still out there. Someone needed not to be blinded by sadness to keep watch for the killer alien, you told yourself as you watched as Izuku forcefully tried again and again to stop crying. But it was like trying to use an eraser to erase pen ink. It wasn’t going to work, nor would it ever.

“My head…” Izuku groaned, he slowly fully opened his eyes. When he did, he saw Bakugo sleeping in a nearby bed. He blinked a few times to confirm that Bakugo wasn’t just a big blanket and long behold, he wasn’t. It was actually Bakugo.

Izuku stared at him as reminders of yesterday made their unwanted appearance, back to the front of his mind, back to the past rather than the seemingly unforgiving today. Bakugo lightly snored in his sleep as Izuku silently stressed out about telling him that his mother had died.

Once more, from the top, as if the world was against him. Venom was still out there so he couldn’t swing and relax, whilst in though, he heard the door open. You walked in, carrying bags of food, eggs, bacon, grits, sausage. You went to your kitchen then you began cooking, Izuku walked out shortly after.

“Morning Izuku” you said with a soft smile along with your tone, you had made it as soft as you could get it, you saw in Izuzku’s eyes that he was stressed out about something; although that something was obviously last night, or at lesser out was a contestant of his stress. “Morning Y/N '' he sounded sad, or unsure. Maybe both?

“Morning, I made breakfast” you responded back.

Izuku smiled as he sat down to eat, his smile didn’t seem genuine and his eyes were sunk with a deep hurt. You knew why but something was odd about his eyes. It was about his fire, it was gone.

“Did you tell him?” You mumbled. Izuku shook his head. “Not yet.” He sighed into his fork making it fog up. How was he supposed to tell his best friend that his mother was dead?

"You might as well get it over with…" Izuku had looked up from his food, "Why do you say that?" He asked. "Bakugo is walking this way. Hey, Bakugo… We have to tell you something. Izuku, will you begin?"

Izuku's words were almost forgotten, he wanted the truth to go to hell. The words had ran away from him as his voice stirred around to catch them. It felt as if the fretful smoke of fire choked him as his throat sheltered fire inside.

Once again, that raddle returned and mocked him. "...Your mother… Mitsuki… She…" Izuku’s words were silently asking to die.

"Shes dead. I know." Bakugo chimed in. "I was there… Venom crawled out of her body and into mine. This was bound to happen." Bakugo put his hands on the bottom of his shirt, pulling it up. He had a scar. It was black and it was diagonal on his stomach. A smile pulled at his lips as they retreated into an open mouth laugh.

His arms crossed his sides and he giggled, the black tissue from his skin wriggled out of its way to Izuku, hitting him making him jet into a wall. "Izuku!" You worriedly cried out at him.

He had crashed into the wall, his eyes shut, seemingly trying to make this situation all go away. If he couldn't see the situation, it wasn't there. You sat there, shocked. "Bakugo. What's going on?!"

Bakugo's body was being devoured by black ink. A symbiote. "I tried to keep my mom safe. He whispered to himself, she just kept killing people, then she killed Inko and Deku, you, you moved in..! It's not my fault. Im sorry Midoriya. I knew that my mother had Venom in her all along. When my grandma died. I saw it go into my mother. Later she told me that its been a thing that when she died. It'd go into me too. Now it's time. I'm so sorry."

The silence stood until he began screaming in anguish. "I TRIED TO SAVE MY MOMMY. IT HURTS. SAVE ME. KILL ME SOMETHING. PLEASE- I CAN'T LET IT TAKE OVER! ITS A CYCLE! HELP ME!"

Izuku sharply opened his eyes. It seemed like he was dazed through this whole affair. You watched as Izuku and the monster stared each other down, Bakugo yelling nonsense and Izuku, he looked sad, hurt.

"Mitsuki… She killed my mother?" He asked, he was out of it. From your perspective it looked like his body grew limp. From physical pain and mental. Bakugo could only respond with whines, albeit.

The sounds weren't sad, regretful or remorseful. His sadness was almost like a ghost. Transparent. Both Izuku's and Bakugo's emotions were weighing on them so much that they didn't even show but they were definitely there.

Bakugo croaked and continued to fight his words as the monster finally caused him to sink into itself. Soon, Bakugo was taken over. No one did anything but watch.

Maybe the sense of dread was too thick to make a move. This wasn't a good situation. It was an exhausting one. The only good thing was venom wasn't attacking. It just stood there

And so did we.
