Matt murdock x reader
It was thunder storming and Matt still wasn't home. I'm sat on the couch under the blankets trying to calm down before Matt comes back from the office. He's always worried about me and I can take care of myself. Then the thunder hit and I pulled the blanket back over my head. I hope Matt gets here soon. I mean how long can it really take him to get home. It wasn't until about ten minutes later that he unlocked the door to the apartment causing me to jump at the sudden noise.
"Y/n/n, where are you?" Matt called into the apartment even though he knew exactly where I was. "I'm on the couch Matt" I called out and he set his things down before coming over to the couch. "I'm gonna go change out of these wet clothes, I'll only be a moment" He said kissing my forehead before walking into the bedroom. He came out a few minutes later in sweatpants and a sweatshirt and joined me on the couch.
"How was work today?" I said trying to even out my voice. "Work was alright, Foggy and Karen wanna hang out soon" He said pulling me closer to him. I started to relax a little more the closer I was to him. "That's great, we can go to Josies soon, or out to dinner" I said snuggling into his side. Then the thunder hit again and I jumped slightly. Normally someone wouldn't have noticed, but this is Matt we're talking about.
"Y/n/n?, are you okay?" He said moving a little to turn and face me. "Yeah I'm fine, why would you think I'm not" I said trying to calm myself "Well your heart was already beating super fast when I came in and you just jumped when the thunder hit" He said "Are you scared of thunderstorms?" He said without any hint of teasing "N-no why would you think that?" I said "Well I did just tell you why, but if you are scared, not saying you are, we can go lay down in the bedroom" He said pulling me up with him.
"I'm not scared, but I do want to lay in bed" I said pulling his arm and leading him to the bedroom. Then the thunder hit again and I bolted in the room.
Matt was still slowly trailing behind this time laughing. "Matt you said you wouldn't laugh" I said hiding under the blanket. "Okay, okay, I won't anymore" he said walking in and getting into the bed. "Come here" he said pulling me closer to him. I turned around to face him and buried my face into his chest.
"Do you want to read or something?, take your mind off it, you can read out loud to me you know how much I love hearing your voice" He said shifting a bit "Okay, what book?" I said sitting up a bit. "How about Shadow and bone?" He said sitting up and pulling me into his lap. "Okay, but you do have to let go of me so I can go get it" I said trying to pull out of his grip. "But I don't want to" he said nuzzling his face into my neck. "Matt, I can't get the book with you clinging to me" I said trying to get out again but this time he let me go.
I got out of bed and walked over to the bookshelf pulling off the first shadow and bone book before walking back to the bed and sitting in Matt's lap again. "Where were we again?" I said shifting a little to get comfortable. "She just went to the little palace" Matt said snuggling back into me. "I arrived at the little palace on horseback extremely tired, we were brought inside, there were two guards posted on one side watching the entries of people in the palace" I read before continuing on.
We got to bagrahs training session before Matt fell asleep next to me. I quickly slid the book mark in and closed the book. I tried to get up to go put it on the shelf but was quickly pulled back into bed "Matt I need to put the book away" I said quietly "Do it in the morning" he mumbled, wrapping his arms around me "Fine but if you get upset about the book that's on you" I said snuggling closer to him after setting it on the nightstand.
We fell asleep and stayed asleep for a few hours before thunder hit again and I jolted awake. I mean the thunderstorm is better than the nightmare I was having. I get up out of bed changing out of my sweat soaked clothes before heading to the kitchen to get some water. "What are you doing up?" Matt said walking up behind me and wrapping his arms around me. "Had a nightmare, needed some water" I said leaning into him.
"Do you want to talk about it" Matt said holding me closer. "Not right now, maybe in the morning" I said turning around to face him. "Okay, we don't have to talk about it at all if you don't want to, you know I won't push you" he said quietly "I wanna talk about it, just not right now, it's two a.m and you have work in the morning, Foggy won't be happy if you miss another day" I said wrapping my arms around him "He won't mind, it is you were talking about and foggy loves you" (A/N: platonic way, don't be weird)
"Yeah I know that but you can't keep missing work, let's get to bed" I said pulling his arm "Plus, it's better you miss work if I'm sick because I know I can't keep you from staying home when I'm sick" I said as we got closer to the bedroom. "Yeah, whatever, come on" he said pulling me into bed. I snuggled close to him and eventually feel asleep, with Matt holding me, nothing mattered, not the thunder, not the nightmares, just here and now.
