Peter took a deep breath and closed his eyes. It was time. He couldn’t keep living a lie.
"Loki, Mr. Stark, guys, I have to tell you something. I’m…trans. And biromantic and asexual.” He opened his eyes again and started pacing back and forth again . The carpet of his room already had a groove in it. Peter had been practicing Coming Out™️ for the past hour. He hadn’t made any progress. He wished he could talk to Loki about this, but…that would involve him coming out. Which was exactly what he was trying to do.
Peter groaned and flopped back down onto his bed. Why was coming out so hard? He knew that no one would judge him. Or, at least, he hoped. They wouldn’t, right?
"Loki, Mr. Stark, guys, I have this thing that I’ve been meaning to mention. I’m trans— wait, should I say transgender? Would they not know what I mean ? Shiiit.” He repeated it again, even though he felt foolish talking to himself.
"It’s not a bad speech," Someone said from the doorway, “But maybe add some more flare. Rainbow confetti is too on the nose, isn’t it?"
Peter turned to face Loki, wincing. “Um," Was all that he could say. Loki grinned and sat down on the bed. He was dressed, as always, impeccably, in a green and black suit. He must have seen Peter's embarrassed and slightly scared face because he tilted his head and looked at the ceiling.
"Don’t worry Peter. I won’t tell until you are ready. Besides, I’m what you Midgardians call 'genderfluid’ and 'bisexual'."
Peter gaped for a moment. “You’re genderfluid? And bi?” He grinned. Peter had someone else living at the Tower who was queer! He was elated. "What are your pronouns right now? Have you come out to anyone yet?"
Loki nodded. “she/her or they/them. My mother and Thor and a few close friends. Not the Avengers yet, though."
"Are you planning to at some point?” Peter asked. He had never really talked with anyone about this besides MJ, who was aroace. May had known, of course. His family and friends had known he was trans, but he had never met someone else who was trans or genderfluid or anything. He felt seen.
“Perhaps. Maybe we can come out together, no?”
A grin split Peter's face and he nodded.

Peter and Loki walked into the living room together. “Hey, FRIDAY? Could you call the others into the living room?” Peter asked the AI.
"They'll be here shortly,” She responded.
Peter and Loki stood to the side as the others trickled into the room, claiming couches and chairs. When everyone was there, Peter cleared his throat. He and Loki were seated together on one of the large couches, Peter nervously fidgeted with a pillow and Loki sat with her legs at odd angles, hands folded in their lap.
The heroes turned to the two. “So,” Peter started (and if his voice cracked, that was…no one's business.), “Me and Loki have something we’d like to share with you.”
Tony’s eyes widened, “ You arent dating, are you?” He exclaimed loudly. Peter and Loki looked at each other in shock.
“N-no, we're not.” Peter replied slowly, shaking his head.
“Okay then, what's up?” Nat asked. Peter took a deep breath.
“Um-so-i’m trans—transgender. FTM. A-and i’m biromantic and asexual too,” He started, voice trembling. Loki shot Peter a small, secret smile, but she still looked slightly terrified.
“I am what you would call ‘genderfluid’ and ‘bisexual’. Thor knows this too. My pronouns are she/her and they/them right now.”
“P-please don't be mad!” Peter blurted out, putting his hands up as if to shield himself. His voice was a little wobbly.
The Avengers looked at each other in shock. Peter's heart dropped down to his shoes. His head felt light. Would they kick him out? They wouldn't hurt him, right? He began planning how to survive on the streets on his own, his breath growing increasingly ragged. Loki’s eyes had become blank and emotionless. Her head was bowed and her lips were pressed together.
“Wait, you think we're angry ?” Tony asked in shock. Peter and Loki looked up, hope flashing through them.
“Well…” Peter started, his eyes still wet.
“Peter, Loki, you do realize almost all of us are part of the gueer community right?” Loki’s mouth dropped open and Peter sat up straighter.
“Me and Bucky are bi. Clint, Wanda, Nat, Bucky, and Bruce are all asexual. Nat and Sam are aroace, Thor and Pepper are pan, and Steve is gay. Bruce uses he/they and Pep uses she/they.” Tony listed.
Peter and Loki blinked.
“Oh. My. God.” Peter finally said. Loki blinked repeatedly.
“We're proud of you for coming out,” Wanda added, grinning at the two. Peter slowly smiled. Loki had tears in her eyes.
“Loki, you alright?” Bruce asked softly, noticing the goddesses' tears.
“Y-you're really okay with..me? I can stay?” She asked tentatively. Bucky’s eyes wided. He kneeled in front of her, and he grabbed her shoulders.
“You can stay. We won't punish you. It’s okay.” He said firmly. Bucky and Loki already had a close friendship. They’d bonded over the mind-control-forcing-them-to-do-bad-things.
“I–Odin and Mother. They didn't–understand. They made me leave.” The god replied. Thor sucked in a breath. Loki had never told him the reason she had left. Peter and Bucky wrapped Loki in a tight hug, which she melted into. The others soon joined.
“So, Vis is our token cishet, huh?” Peter asked, laughing. Vision nodded, smiling slightly. Wanda buried her head in Vision’s chest.
“FRI, play ‘Game Night’ from Brooklyn Nine Nine” Tony commanded with a muffled voice from the middle of the hug-pile.
“Jake Peralta is bi,” Came Peter’s voice.
“I agree!” Seconded Clint from somewhere near Loki. Loki pushed the others off her. They laughed and began making popcorn and hot chocolate. The windows darked and the lights turned off. Once everyone was seated together, they curled up with their snacks and laughed at the show together. Loki decided this coming out was an ultimate success.
