Sorry for the wait...

The day had finally come. Izuku was finally starting his first day at U.A High School. He had woken up in his room in the Domo and made his way to the kitchen where Ajak had prepared a hearty breakfast of eggs bacon and whatever Babylonian cuisine she added that he could never pronounce.

“Morning!” He greeted the Prime Eternal.

“Good morning Izuku, how did you sleep?” Her smile was as warm and welcoming as it always was.

“Pretty well considering everything.” He smiled nervously.

“Today is your first day isn’t it?”

“Yeah, I’m excited and scared at the same time,” He said sheepishly.

“That is completely normal, you’re entering unknown territory with no allies by your side.” Thena said as she entered the room.

“Good morning Thena,” Izuku greeted her along with Ajak.

“Good morning μικρός πολεμιστής.” (it means ‘little warrior’ in greek. I used google translate so I don’t know if it’s right or not) She sat down beside him and observed as he and Ajak interacted. The others soon joined them and though none of them needed to eat given their condition as let’s say ‘half-living’ they joined simply to enjoy each other’s company.

“Remember,” Thena told him as he prepared to set off for school, “seize the day.”

“By the throat, I know.”

“Good, now off you go.”

………………………

The sight of UA was as underwhelming as last time, he expected a sense of awe and majesty from seeing the school now that he’d been accepted but was left disappointed yet again. Finding 1-A was less of a struggle than he’d imagined with the plaques on the walls pointing to where certain rooms were.

Izuku hadn’t even opened the door yet and he could already hear a fight going on. He cracked the door just enough to get in without alerting anyone to his presence, if he used an illusion to make it seem like the door didn’t move and that he wasn’t there then that was no one’s business but his own.

Turns out the fight he was hearing was from the Robocop teen from the entrance exam and Bakugou. One was scolding the other and telling him to get his feet off the desk, I’ll let you guess who’s doing what. Taking a peek at the class roster Izuku was disappointed to find himself right behind the explosive blond.

“Great,” he muttered to himself as moved to his place as discreetly as he could, his invisibility still in place.

The argument hadn’t abated even after everyone else had arrived. Izuku could see the cocooned form of whatever endangered species of caterpillar decided to grace them with its presence at the door. Then it turned around to reveal a human face sucking a juice packet dry in seconds. Jesus Christ that’s creepy, talk about a plot twist, I didn’t know UA hired vampires as teachers. Izuku dropped his invisibility as the man got up, he saw a few people startle from the corner of his eye but paid them no mind.

“It took you all 1 minute and 28 seconds to calm down, we’ll work on it. My name is Aizawa Shota, I’ll be your Homeroom teacher as well as your Law and Ethics teacher. I’ll also handle teaching a few Heroics classes this year as well as some strategy, Nedzu’s the one that usually teaches that course along with the Analysis class you’ll be able to sign up for in your second year.”

“Sir!” The blue haired teen raised his hand perfectly perpendicular to the ground.

“Yes Iida?”

“There is someone missing, which is highly irresponsible of a student of an establishment such as UA!” There were hand chops to accompany his words that got faster the more agitated he became, how adorable.

“There is no one missing Iida. Everyone is here.” The hero stared him right in the eyes and the blue haired teen followed his gaze. Izuku waved.

“I see! Forgive my mistake!” He bowed as much as he could while sitting.

Aizawa simply nodded and pulled out a pair of UA gym clothes that were hidden under the podium, “You should all have received one of these and brought them along with you. Put them on and meet me at the track.” Then he walked away but stopped before crossing the threshold, “those that aren’t at the track in ten minutes will find themselves in Gen Ed. Get moving.”

They all scrambled out of their seats in a hurry to get to the locker rooms to change.

“Classmates follow me! I know the way!” The newly dubbed Iida proclaimed with some hand chops. Izuku sent him a simple mental nudge to actually show them the fastest way and not deviate or get them lost, he didn’t know these people and you could never be too safe. He forcibly ignored Bakugou’s burning gaze as it focused on him and didn’t deviate for their entire walk. The class separated to change once on site. Izuku simply walked ahead and used Sersi’s transmutation to transform his normal uniform (that was modified by Phastos to include a fine layer of vibranium, which was provided by their resident transmuter for maximum protection) into a UA gym uniform with the only difference being that the threads that made up the clothes were thin strands of vibranium. Oh the things he and Phastos made with the precious Wakandan mineral, especially after Sersi taught him how to transmute it. Vibranium wasn’t like other more simply minerals such as gold or silver, because they were comprised of simple Au and Ag atoms and isotopes, vibranium was complicated in the fact that it had several purposes and uses, from clothes to technology Izuku had to learn to make his transfigurations as adaptable as the original source material.

Izuku was the first one to join their teacher. He stood beside the man calmly, not expecting any conversation. The silence was as peaceful and awkward as one would expect being alone with a teacher and neither party saying anything. Soon enough the rest of the class was roaming the practice field and wondering what they were doing.

“You’ll be doing a Quirk Assessment Test, basically you’ll be going through the same exercises you were forced to do in junior high but with the addition of your quirks.”  Their teacher's voice drawled, he sounded bored but a small glance into his surface thoughts told him he was analyzing them to minutest detail.

The class erupted into excited whispers and one of the girls (the pink skinned one) could be heard saying “This is going to be fun!”

Aizawa’s head snapped towards her at that.

“Fun? You think this is going to be fun? You have three years to learn and train as much as you can before being sent out into the world to protect the innocent and put your lives on the line to stop rampaging villains. This isn’t meant to be fun. How about this, the person in last place gets expelled, how's that for fun?” His lips stretched out into what might have once been called a smile, it was more of a baring of teeth to be honest.

It was quiet for a moment as they processed the new information before shouts of protest and exclamations of unfairness rose among the students.

“Natural disasters aren’t fair and villains don’t care what time it is or how tired you are when they attack. Life isn’t fair, if there’s one thing you’ll learn in my class it’s that.” The class quieted at that, much to Izuku’s delight. He, more than anyone here, knew how unfair life was and how much of a bitch it could be depending on the cards you were dealt.

“Midoriya.” his head snapped up to meet his teacher’s eyes. “You got first place in the entrance exam, how far was your softball throw in middle school?”

“I don’t remember, sorry Sensei.” he smiled sheepishly.

“That’s fine, go to the center of the circle and throw this as far as you can using your quirk, I don’t care what you do, just don’t leave the circle.” Aizawa held the softball out for him to take.

“Alright..” Izuku walked up to him and took the ball before going to the white circle in the field.

“You can do anything you like as long as you stay in the circle.”

“Got it.”

I don’t even really need to throw this do I? He just wants to see how we use our quirks creatively in different exercises and to test our physical abilities. I could throw the ball with Gil’s strength but I could also just use Druig’s brainwash to make him give the highest score. No, that’d be too easy. Just remember Izuku WWTD, What Would Thena Do? Make an impressive show of strength to intimate the others and show your worth by trouncing them in every way. Alright then, let’s do this.

Keeping himself in the middle of the painted circle, Izuku channeled as much cosmic energy as he could to his arm without injuring himself and charged up a blast on the tip of his fingers. Cocking his arm back he let it rip with everything he had, releasing his tight hold on the blasts he had charged up on the tips of his fingers to give the ball an extra oomph.

The class watched in shocked, awed silence as, in a flash of golden light, the sound barrier shattered and the ball vanished in the blink of an eye. They all looked back to see Midoriya’s arm bent at an awkward angle.

“Are you okay?” Mina asked him, his arm was clearly broken but he was looking at it like it was a mere annoyance.

“Yeah,” he grunted as turning to face them jostled his arm, “I’m fine, just miscalculated how much I channeled, give me a second.” His other hand raised to his injured arm and began glowing gold and healed before their eyes. Seeing the form of bone moving under his skin and snapping back together made them wince but Midoriya released a sigh of relief at.

……………………………..

From behind his hiding spot, Toshinori stared in horror as the green haired boy, no older than fifteen, showcased more quirks than any one human could naturally possess. The only way that someone had to gain that many quirks was by being close to him, either that or someone with the same quirk, either way he was dangerous, incredibly so.

……………………………..

Izuku turned to face his teacher, his broken arm wasn’t that big a deal and was actually pretty minor considering what happened the first few times he forgot to properly gauge how much power he was channeling into his strength. At least his bones weren’t outside his skin this time, that was a daunting experience he hoped never to reproduce.

“How was that?”

The man didn’t answer, instead he turned his screen to face him before turning it towards the class. The device clearly showed the numbers 1998.7m.

“Oh, damn it. That’s not even close to Gil.” he grumbled as he kicked the ground lightly with his shoe. Who this ‘Gil’ was Shouta didn’t know and if the kid was basing himself on him then he definitely didn’t want to get to know him either. The guy must be a monster to be that strong.

Explosions startled the class as Bakugou started screaming and propelled himself towards Midoriya with his quirk.

“DEKU!! YOU BASTARD! TELL ME HOW YOU DID THAT OR I’LL KILL YOU!!!”

Shouta immediately shot out his capture scarf and activated his quirk to restrain his feral student. His scarf wrapped itself around the teen’s torso and arm to prevent him from releasing the explosion in his cocked back palm. He was lucky he stopped him when he did because if he had been a second late Bakugou would’ve been impaled on Midoriya’s glowing golden spear he had poised to skewer him. The spear’s blade rested an inch or so from where the explosive blond’s heart was, if Bakugou had been a little faster, or Shota a little slower, Class 1-A would’ve probably had one less student by the end of the day, and, for once, not because of expulsion.

Shota was about to reprimand Midoriya for using his quirk when he noticed Midoriya was using his quirk. Erasure wasn’t working on Midoriya. The implications of it terrified Shota enough that he relegated the thought to later when he wasn’t on the verge of witnessing a murder.

“Bakugou, stand down! Midoriya,” The kid looked up at him and he froze, that wasn’t a look he ever thought he’d see in a teenager. His eyes burned with cold fury, showing promises of pain to anyone who made the wrong move, in this case, Bakugou. “Put the spear away.”

Aizawa knew that if Erasure didn’t work on him, and that if the kid could use his weapons, blasts, and strength one after the other then he could lose, it was a small probability but still a probability nonetheless. And wasn’t that a first, Shota could possibly lose to one of his first year students.

Izuku let his spear fade as he released his grip on it, he didn’t need it to beat Bakugou.

“Thank you.” Shota kept his gaze on his, clearly, more deranged student, only tightening his scarf’s hold on Bakugou when he started thrashing and yelling about the ‘useless Deku looking down on him and hiding his quirk!’ “Bakugou I told you to stand down!”

“Listen to Sensei, Kacchan. You really don’t want to do this,” Midoriya advised, but the blond clearly interpreted his words as a taunt as his thrashing increased in strength.

“Don’t tell me what to do you worthless Deku!” He roared.

Shota couldn’t keep his quirk activated for so long and inevitably had to blink, giving the teen a chance to activate his explosions and unintentionally blind him, forcing his grip on his scarf to loosen for half a second, but it was all he needed to propel himself to the other.

Midoriya didn’t even dodge, his eyes glowed gold and Bakugou fell to the ground limp, like a puppet with cut strings.

“What are you doing, Midoriya?” Shota wasn’t even mad, the kid handled the situation without injuries to all parties.

“One of my quirk’s abilities, Sensei, I can take over minds of people within a certain radius from me, I simply made him pass out.”

Relegating that terrifying tidbit for later when he was with Nedzu and drowning in the rat’s liquor cabinet, he simply nodded before calling Yagi, he knew the man wasn’t at the auditorium listening to Nedzu’s speech, he was a seven foot tall skeleton, stealth was not one of his strong suits.

“Yagi, I know you’re there, come here and watch over my class for me, I’ll be back in ten minutes. Take them to the auditorium, Nedzu should still be talking about the dress code.” The orientation had started half an hour ago and the rat was probably still on the dress code. He took sadistic joy in making the students sit there for hours on end, bored out of their minds with nowhere to go as they listened to him go on and on about everything UA had ever done and all the rules and regulations that the students already knew.

Aizawa dismissed the class too the blond buffoon's care, ordering them to go to the orientation while he brought Bakugou to the infirmary and Midoriya to the Principal.

Recovery Girl greeted them with an unamused and reproachful look at Bakugou’s state.

“Really Shota? It’s still the first day.”

“This wasn’t me Chiyo.” Her eyes drifted to the teen beside him, he waved with a smile. She humphed and turned to take care of Bakugou as Aizawa turned and stalked out of the infirmary with Izuku at his heels. The teen shot the nurse an apologetic look at her arched brow.

“And what happened then?” Her voice stopped them at the door.

“He tried to attack me, so I put him to sleep with my quirk. He’s not injured or anything, I wouldn’t hit him unless it was a serious case of self defense.” Izuku answered honestly.

“He tried to attack you with his quirk, that's a pretty serious offense.” Shota pointed out.

“I meant in situations where I was actually in danger," he clarified, "UA hires Hero’s to be the teachers for the Heroics Course so the chances of him reaching me with you so close by were slim. And even if he did get past you, which he did by the way, then I am more than capable of taking him down.” He shrugged nonchalantly.

“Oh? And how would you have done that?” Chiyo saw the entrance exam tapes, she knew just how well the blond boy used his explosions for combat.

“I’ve unfortunately known Bakugou since we were in nappies, we were best friends just like our moms were before us, until we turned four." Now came the hard part, he took a breath, you can do this, this is UA, they won’t kick you out, “Our relationship changed when his quirk came in and mine didn’t.”

He waited for sneers and scoffs that never came, he instinctively prepared himself for the derision that didn’t appear, for the insults that never once became even a thought in the adults’ minds. He looked up at them, wary but ultimately hopeful.

“So that’s why he attacked you? Because you’re a False Negative? He felt entitled to know everything about you and, since I’m guessing you didn’t tell or show him your quirk, he got mad and wanted answers. Making a shot in the dark here but, did he attempt to attack you because that’s what he did in Middle school?” Shota wasn’t known as one of the best Underground heroes for nothing, he was able to make a mile out of an inch given, however unwilling or accidental it was. From the look on the kid’s face though, he hit the nail right on the head.

“If this were almost any other situation I would expel Bakugou on the spot, but seeing as your Middle School never put anything on record it would turn into a ‘he said she said situation’ so this is what’s going to happen. If Bakugou acts in any way violent with you outside of spars, or if he uses too much force in said spars, that I will try to keep from happening to the best of my abilities, then he will be summarily expelled. One more minor offense and its suspension with detention for two months, the second is immediate expulsion. How does that sound?” He turned to see Midoriya’s eyes blown so wide he thought something was wrong, a simple glance to Chiyo told him not to worry, then the tears started.

……………………………

Back at the Domo, the Eternals were all sat around the dining room table, watching on one of Phastos’ holograms the footage coming from UA’s infirmary. Who knew hacking into the city’s mainframe and cameras would be so useful? Thena had her spear out the moment the first tear fell from Izuku's eyes, then she released it and sat back down when she realized what she was doing. She didn’t miss the teasing look the others shot her, especially the mouthed ‘mama bear’ from Kingo. She ignored them. We’re coming Izuku, once we escape from here you’ll never have to shed another tear, I promise you. With that, the Olympian focused back on the screen in front of her, missing the soft acknowledging look in Ajak’s gaze.
