Ultimate Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Chapter 3: Eccentric bunch, aren't they?
"Why'd you take me in?"
"Hmm?"
Tengan had glanced back at the teen following after him.
Young Peter Parker was dressed in more casual clothing, having been just put on after Kazuo had taken the boy out shopping for some basic necessities. He would be needing such things since he was going to be staying with him.
"Why'd you take me in?" Peter asked once more. "I mean, you didn't have to and all but isn't it a hassle for you?"
The old man merely chuckled heartily at the boy, patting his shoulder as the two approached the front door to the house of the former Headmaster of Hope's Peak.
"Is it so hard to believe that this old man saw a young lad in need of assistance and did it out of the kindness of his heart?"
Peter angling his head to the side and letting out an unconvinced "uh" only served to further amuse the former Headmaster.
"Alright, alright, you got me." Tengan opened the front door and gestured for Peter to walk in first.
The teen entered the rather lavish foyer with Kazuo following after him, the two standing beneath the chandelier in the room.
"I took you in because I wanted you to attend Hope's Peak because of what I saw." Tengan spoke far slower this time, meticulous as he weighed each word carefully. "The truth is son is that I see something within you unlike anything I had ever seen before. Potential that is just waiting to be unlocked that can change the world."
"You saw that in me?" Peter murmured, looking down and away from the old man who gave a firm nod.
"Yes." Tengan said without reservation. "A multi-talented boy that is comparable to having over a half dozen titles that you can have as an Ultimate? You're rarity eclipses even those who are already Ultimate's themselves. You, Peter Parker, are something special. Something that can inspire Hope that will reach every corner of the world. And I want to help you achieve it."
Well that was both flattering and somewhat intimidating.
"But…" Peter squirmed a bit. He wanted to explain his situation to the man, to tell him what he was going through right now.
Though, how could he? How does one go about saying "hey I'm from another universe and I'm trying to get back but I don't know how" without sounding crazy?
If it were his universe, that statement would be taken with a grain of salt yet a level of believability. Here however is another story entirely.
"Peter."
The brunette jolted slightly upon hearing his name, seeing Tengan looking at him expectantly yet also patiently.
"I understand that there's much that you withheld from us in our initial meeting-"
Peter's open cringe made Tengan pause with a slight laugh.
"Yes, yes, you don't get as good as I do at reading people without age and experience, my boy." He said with a cheek to his tone, patting the teen on the shoulder. "But like I said, I understand. There is much you held back when we first spoke but I won't press you for it until you're good and ready to speak about it."
Jeez, how much can a guy give in leeway?
Parker began feeling guilt fester in his gut as he really felt like now, he really was going to be taking advantage of what was basically a free handout.
'How in the world did this happen?' Peter internally asked himself for what felt like the hundredth time already.
"Come on now." Kazuo's voice snapped him out of his thoughts. "Your room is right up the stairs to the left."
"Huh? Oh, oh, right, right, yeah, thanks." Peter stammered out, following the elderly Gentleman as he led him towards his personal room.
And of course…
"Whoa."
It was as lavishly big as the house was.
"I take it the room is to your liking?" Tengan asked, though it was clear it was in the rhetorical variety.
"Uh-huh." Was all Peter managed out, thinking how this large king size bedroom was almost half the size of his apartment with Aunt May.
The old man simply smirked, though in reality, he had been like this for the entire duration of his time spent with the young lad.
When he had volunteered to take the boy in, it had come as a slight surprise to Jin and Koichi.
Both were unsure of him taking on the responsibility of being the boy's guardian as they knew despite his retirement of being Headmaster, Kazuo still held a great degree of duties to Hope's Peak.
Yet Tengan had brushed the concerns aside, citing that neither men were equipped in being Peter's legal Guardian.
Jin was the Headmaster, therefore had a significant amount of responsibilities compared to Tengans lessened duties.
And Koichi was to be both a homeroom teacher and still continue his job as the schools talent scout for future candidates that would one day attend the Academy.
So, by process of elimination, the "burden" of watching over the American teen fell upon Tengan… who took it up… without even allowing his two colleagues to voice any counters or complaints.
Since then, Tengan had learned very little from the young teen but to the untrained eyes, it may seem small but in reality, he was able to tell much about the boy.
For starters, the obvious was given.
He was 17, born and raised in Queens, New York in America by his Aunt and recently deceased Uncle. When asked about the school he went to, it was the Midtown School of Science and Technology.
That right there was the first indicator to there being more than what the boy had let on. In his quick research done to the school, Midtown High was very well known for having some of the most intelligent students not only in the state but had gone on to affect the world of science as a whole. So aside from his astonishing powers, there's the likelihood of a high degree of intelligence to the boy.
He'll have to test that to be sure.
But when asked about his abilities, Peter was a bit hesitant in talking about them but did reveal that he was entering his third year in having them.
Now that was interesting.
A boy with his abilities having them for nearly three years only popping up now of all times and in Japan, so far from home?
Much as he wanted to learn more about is new ward, Tengan was no fool.
He understands patience is a prerequisite when dealing with younger folks, especially with teenagers.
Being the Headmaster to one where the most eccentric, intense and craziest of teens can help teach one a great deal about patience.
So when Peter was ready to reveal more about his past, more about himself, he would be there. Until then, providing a roof over his head would be enough to at least start nurturing a trust between the two.
For now, he just allowed his new charge a chance to properly relax though given his overall attitude, that may prove to be somewhat difficult.
Kazuo mused to himself on rectifying that.
-Scene Cut-
It had been a number of days since he had settled into this new world.
And settled in would be a rather loose term to use considering how he's still in another universe and he's not even in his home country.
There was a lot to learn about this place in these past few days.
For starters, instead of enhanced or superheroes this place had Ultimate's. They were essentially the equivalent of his universe's super powered individuals.
The technology was also weird.
In some aspects, it was advanced in the strangest of ways with their robotics from what he's seen though Peter felt like maybe there were some advanced robotics in his world he didn't know about.
Then again, taking a moment to think about it, Ultron.
So there that is.
And in other aspects, the tech on this Earth was relatively behind on several fronts such as the nano-technology that he has at his disposal.
They also didn't have AI to the degree that his universe had or any for that matter. That he was aware of, at least.
Who knows, this place may surprise him.
Speaking of AI's, when running diagnostics of his suits, Peter was more than relieved to find out that Karen was still operating within the confines of his original suit.
She had asked him what was going on and just where he was and he explained that they were now in another universe.
This was certainly a shock to the AI to say the least and well outside the parameters of what she was used to.
Basically, this was an emergency situation for both her and Peter, so that kicked in a number of subroutines. Now it was Peter's turn for a shock as he now had access to a multitude of different features and functions both related and unrelated to his suit.
Above all else, the most tantalizing and craziest backup emergency function that Peter now had gained access to was the litany of files and data Tony Stark had accumulated for himself and the Avengers. All their techniques, their technology, their powers and such which threw the young teen for a loop.
Apparently Mr. Stark has a large number of contingency plans, some such being that in the event of some crazy events that the Avengers would no longer be around, any and all who do survive would have the means in which to rebuild the team.
That's certainly an insane prospect and capability that Peter now had at his disposal.
First things first, whenever he would get the time and if this Academy has the technology for it, he needs to make a Fabricator. That at the very least will allow him to make the barebones basics of most everything he needs, including suit maintenance for all three of his suits.
Having a fabricator would also assist in helping construct anything else that may be useful for the future as well as helping create more web fluid variations. Any chemistry lab usually works but for specialization, a Fabricator would be more convenient.
Then came a slight shock Karen bringing up files and instructions on how to build the miniature Arc Reactor Tony had created on his own.
That was both an insane reveal… and a low key disappointing one for Peter.
He kinda wanted to figure it out for himself actually being a developing scientist and all. He had already grasped at a fundamental understanding of it and was glad to see several of his theories on how it worked being proved true like its recycling power fluctuation to optimize full power for whatever it was plugged into.
But he wanted to figure out the reactor by himself like Mr. Stark did.
"Childish" scientific endeavors.
But for now, none of that really matters as it is now time.
Today was the day that he would begin his time as a student of Hope's Peak Academy.
As an Ultimate.
Parker had a moment of a mental complaint as to once again berating himself for being talked into this.
Not going to the school but having the title of his "talent" be chosen for him.
Tengan, Jin and Koichi just dropped it on him and that made him bemoan himself for not resisting it more.
Really, could that title get any more attention?
He knows Ultimates and all were a big deal but with his, he felt like more attention was going to be brought upon compared to most others.
Then again, Tengan annoyingly asked if he was going to neglect his duties surrounding his "talent" and Peter had to pout at that question and looked away from the old man at the time and said no in a low voice.
So he was stuck with it now.
But back to the main matter at hand.
His first official day in Hope's Peak Academy had arrived.
Peter stood in front of the doors to the Academy gymnasium with a degree of hesitation.
This was to be the start of his new school life for the foreseeable future during his stay here in this universe. To attend a school filled with exceptionally gifted and talented teenagers that have been given the moniker of Ultimate, signifying their specialization in their field.
In his research leading up to his first day of class here, he had learned a lot about this whole Ultimate business and how this school goes out of its way to cater to those with these astonishing skills. They would allow them free use of any facility they need that would assist them in their skills or if needed, one would be built specifically for them in mind.
It was rather crazy, really, just how far this academy seemed to be willing to go to accommodate for these Ultimates.
And he was now being lumped in with them.
So that begs the question; how far is the academy willing to go to accommodate him?
Tengan implied that he would undoubtedly get the attention of the heads of the school. It was a matter of if over when.
But now wasn't the time for that.
With a shake of his head, he exhaled calmly to ready himself and placed his hands on the entrance to the gymnasium.
Pushing the two doors open, Peter was greeted to the sight of fifteen other students all being around his age.
They were all of varying sizes and appearances with hairstyles and clothing to further distinguish themselves from each other.
There were some that appeared normal yet the ones that stood out with maybe one or two features that made them distinct.
Yet it was because of their more plain appearance that the more unique students stood out.
One was a huge, towering mass of pure muscle with blue tracksuit pants and zip up sweater with a white tank top and a metal chain around his neck.
The other was a girl with long hair and really *ahem* pronounced assets that looked like they were barely being contained by a white button up shirt and a red mini-skirt that barely reached her thighs, if at all.
Another was a bit lankier but had pink hair and a blue jumpsuit with several symbols on it and a cap he wore backwards.
Then there was a shorter, stout boy who was straight up just wearing Chef's clothing.
Before he was able to get a better look at all of them, a timid gasp was heard and Peter soon saw someone familiar to him rushing right towards him.
"Peter!" Squeaked out a meek voice, causing him to blink until recognition dawned on his face upon seeing who it was.
"Mikan?" He said, pleasantly surprised. "I didn't know you were going to be coming here as well."
Mikan Tsumiki, garbed in the same nurses outfit she had on when she first found him, stood before the spider-themed superhero with a look of clear concern written all over her face.
"Are you ok?" She asked, voice trembling. "How are you? Do you feel better? Does anything hurt? How many fingers am I-"
"Mikan, Mikan." Peter cut her off, placing his hands on her shoulders. "Easy, don't worry about me. I'm all healed up and I'm completely fine, see?"
He held up one of his arms that she had bandaged up and showed that he didn't have any injuries of any kind on them.
"Wh-what?" Mikan said in slight disbelief. "But those injuries… they should've taken longer to heal. Some of them were internal even."
"I do feel a bit sore but nothing I can't work past." Peter assured the girl. "Still, I owe you a lot Mikan. You helped me out when I needed it. I can't thank you enough for that."
The young Nurse could only stare at the sincerity in Parker's eyes and she soon found herself blushing while giggling happily to herself.
"N-No problem."
"Urgh, are you serious?" Spoke a haughty voice. "Can you two be any more disgusting?"
Mikan and Peter looked over to see a shorter girl garbed in a traditional kimono with two large pigtails whilst she had her cheeks puffed up in a taunting fashion.
"And what's an American doing here?" She said in clear disgust. "They're always so loud and obnoxious."
"Now that's not very nice to say." Spoke a red haired girl in a simple school uniform, a camera hung around her neck. "You don't even know him. How can you be so quick to judge?"
Before Peter was able to say anything, the red haired girl then rounded on him with her hands on her hips.
"And you better make sure you don't let me down." She abrasively said, sounding almost like a mother scolding her child. "I just stood up for you because it was the right thing to do. Don't prove me wrong."
'What?' Peter thought in complete bewilderment. 'But I just got here. Why am I already being scolded?'
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a man standing upon the stage in the gymnasium and instantly recognized who it was.
It was Koichi, flask in hand and easy-going demeanor present.
"Alright." He said aloud, gaining the attention of the sixteen teenagers in the room. "With Mr. Parker now arriving fashionably late, we can begin."
Peter gave the man a flat look whilst a blond girl with a regal air and pretty dress looked at the Queens native with literal stars in her eyes.
"Oh my, how fortunate for me!" She proclaimed. "I am not the only foreigner here. I was nervous at first but knowing I'm not alone eases my concerns. But still, I do hope to get along with all of you!"
"I agree wholeheartedly, Miss Sonia!" A pink haired teen in a blue jumpsuit said a bit too enthusiastically.
"Urgh, you're giving off a really weird air around you." The Kimono girl snickered into her sleeve causing the pink haired boy to jolt and slump slightly.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He depressingly asked.
"Ok kids, enough squabbling." Koichi spoke up, taking a long swig of his flask. "Time to get down to business."
The red haired girl with the camera around her neck had her hands on her hips and a disapproving glare directed at the blond alcoholic.
"Koichi-Sensei, is that really a proper way for a teacher to behave in front of their students?" She admonished sternly, almost motherly, really.
"What?" He said lightheartedly. "It's just my medicine. Helps me get through the day."
It looked as though she was about to say more until Kizakura beat her to the punch.
"Alright." He said aloud, putting his flask away and clapping his hands together. "These are your classmates who you're going to get to know for the next few years. So, introductions are in order. Name and talent, please and thank you."
It took a few moments for the assembled teens to register as to what the man had just said until someone finally spoke up.
"Oh!" Said an excited girl with a punk-rock look to her as she grinned widely, jumping forward. "Ibuki understands entirely! Ibuki would like to go first!"
She now stood before the rest of her class, striking a pose, placing one hand on her hip whilst the other made a peace sign and she held it up above her head.
"Ibuki is Mioda Ibuki, that's her name!" She proclaimed happily. "Ibuki's title is the Ultimate Musician, that's what Ibuki is! If you ever wanna jam and rock out till you collapse, Ibuki is where it's at!"
'Is she really referring to herself in the third person?' Was Peter's bemused thoughts.
The blonde girl in the pretty dress sparkled in awe and glee. "Truly spectacular! I cannot wait to get along with you!"
She then turned to the others and bowed in a gracious, almost regal fashion, if that was possible.
"It is so wonderful to meet you all. My name is Sonia Nevermind and I am the Ultimate Princess. I hope we can all become great friends."
'She's a Princess?' Parker thought in slight interest. He knew of another Princess back in his universe being a tech genius.
He wondered what kind of hidden talents she may possess.
Next came the guy in the blue jumpsuit with pink hair. "Well since Miss Sonia spoke I guess it's my turn. Kazuichi Soda and I'm the Ultimate Mechanic. Nice to meet y'all."
'Mechanic, eh?' Now Peter was greatly intrigued by this prospect. He wondered what he could build and fix up. Maybe he could work with this guy in the future. If he could, getting a Fabricator made could be made sooner than later.
Still… What kind of names were Soda and Nevermind?
Then again, he is from New York so the strange and odd were rather normal every now and then. So who was he to judge? Especially himself.
There was a scoff heard from a boy in a black, pin-stripe, almost gangster-like suit as he looked off to the side.
"Kuzuryu Fuyuhiko, Ultimate Yakuza. Don't expect me to get all friendly with you lunatics." The buzz cut blond said dismissively.
Peter had to do a bit of a double take at that.
He was well aware that the Yakuza was just another word for gangster/mobster in Japan and apparently, this kid was one.
Now that he thought about it, how is it that these guys with their titles are considered talents? Mechanics, Nurses and Musicians are one thing but how does one become talented as a Princess or even a Yakuza?
What, do they practice what pose they need to perfect or what crimes they have and haven't committed yet?
This school was just getting stranger by the second.
Peter was so absorbed in his thoughts that he didn't notice the silver haired girl with red eyes and sword strapped to her back standing next to Fuyuhiko to step up to introduce herself.
"Hello." She said in a polite voice. "I am Peko Pekoyama, the Ultimate Swordsman. I hope we can all get along."
'Huh, Peko Pekoyama, Peter Parker.' Was the stray thought that crossed Peter's mind.
"GAHAHAHAHA!" Laughed the largest of the group, his demeanor being overall jovial and boisterous and… Peter had to blink for a second cause he sword electricity was radiating off from the dudes eyes. "So much spirit and potential here! I love it! You can refer to me as the Ultimate Team Manager, NIDAI NEKOMARU! Make sure to remember it!"
With an introduction like that, you would be hard pressed to forget it.
Peter was actually rubbing his ears as the guys shouting made them ring. And his declaration had actually made the gymnasium shake slightly. Just what the hell was that?
The well-endowed girl slammed her hands together, fist into her palm with a deadly smirk in place.
"Hell yeah. The name's Owari Akane. I go by the Ultimate Gymnast, I think it's what I was called. Nice meetin' everyone."
'You think?' Was the collective thought of several of the other classmates.
How does one "guess" or "think" that's their talent?
Hoping to maybe reign in the chaotic energy, the girl with red hair and freckles cleared her throat and smiled, albeit nervously.
"Um, hello everyone. I'm Koizumi Mahiru. I'm the Ultimate Photographer. I hope we can all get along with each other."
Peter perked up slightly upon hearing this.
'Photography?' He thought, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
He had always held a passing interest in photography and remembered that during his time in Midtown High, he had actually taken photos for many clubs and even the School newspaper. Maybe he can compare notes with Mahiru or get a few pointers from her if she was the Ultimate Photographer.
"Ooooh~~~" Came the rather odd sound from the one dressed as a chef. "Such variety here from passion to shyness. This is truly where a man such as myself can thrive. Hanamura Teruteru, the Ultimate Cook at your service. However, if I may. I'd prefer Chef over cook. Comes across as more fancier, no?"
Though his tingle didn't go off, Peter had the strangest feeling of "danger" coming from this guy and he took a step back. What in the hell was this guy's deal?
"Tch," Said the girl in the kimono. "You're nothing more than a disgusting pig."
Said "pig" wilted dramatically, comically large tears streaming down his face.
"P-pig?"
She only sneered at him before she faced the rest of the class. "I'm Saionji Hiyoko and I'm the Ultimate Traditional Dancer and don't you forget it."
Well now, she was certainly cocky and full of herself, wasn't she?
The next to speak was a rotund boy with short, light brown hair, rosy cheeks and hazel eyes.
"I'm Ryota Mitarai, the Ultimate Animator. Nice to meet you all."
Succinct and to the point as compared to everyone else.
So far, Peter was able to gauge that Ryota and Mahiru appeared to be the most "normal" in terms of demeanor.
Then again, normal was a term used loosely in this context.
He could never refer to himself as such considering that A: he's a superhero and B: from another universe all together.
No matter how crazy some of these students may come across, it was really hard to match him if he were being honest.
Still…
Giving Ryota another look, Peter tilted his head to the side and gave him a more scrutinizing look.
His sixth sense was going off but… not in the means of conveying danger but something else. Something he couldn't quite make out.
"Kehehehehehe. It appears that the light has now shined upon me." Said a foreboding male voice. "The time to let the world know of my existence has now come."
…Maybe he spoke too soon about him being the craziest one here.
A boy garbed in black with a scar on his left eye and his right eye being red with hair poofed up being black with gray streaks in them stepped forward. He held up his fully bandaged left arm and the purple scarf he had wrapped around his neck fluttered in… where was the wind coming from?
"Greetings mortals." He said with a flourish of his scarf. "The name bestowed to me upon my birth is Gundham Tanaka. Remember it well for it is the name that will one day rule this world! The title given to me on this plane is that of the Ultimate Breeder!"
Peter went bug-eyed, unsure of whether he not he heard that right.
'The Ultimate what?'
"But disregard such false monikers for my true identity is that of the Supreme Overlord of Ice! Bow before my power and the might of the Tanaka Empire, fools! Fuhahahahahaha!"
He then struck a dramatic pose and four small shapes jumped out from his scarf, all landing on his shoulder and mirroring his pose.
Were… were those hamsters?
'How in the world were hamsters… you know what, I fought a purple alien in space.' Peter reminded himself. 'Hamsters doing that aren't too strange.'
And he knew a man literally called Doctor Strange so there that is.
But turning his attention back to the rest of the class making their introduction, up next was a tall and rather skinny teen with wide shoulders, sickly pale skin, light gray-green eye and shoulder length hair that had an unnatural pink color that was pale and off-white.
Though he looked like he could drop dead at any time, the air he conveyed was nothing of the sort.
"Wow, this is truly something astonishing." The sickly-pale boy said in what could be described to be pure reverence. "To be in the presence of such Ultimates. Scum like me really is Lucky. Nice to meet you all. I'm Komaeda Nagito and this year's Ultimate Lucky Student."
'Luck?' Parker frowned in thought. What kind of talent was that supposed to be?
He had luck of his own, the old Parker Luck.
But Ultimate Luck? Wonder how that's supposed to work.
"Huh?" Spoke up a soft, subdued voice and the class turned over to see a girl seated on the floor, leaning against the wall with a game console in hand and a black cat-like hoodie over her head. "Oh, we're doing introductions? Ah, sorry for being distracted. I'm Chiaki Nanami, the Ultimate Gamer. I hope we can all be friends."
Aloof and friendly? What an odd combo.
And gamer, huh? Well, she's certainly picked the right time to be one despite being in another universe. Seems like video games are just as all the rage here as they are back home. And Peter was also a gamer, something that almost all nerdy guys like him shared in common, adding another person he may be able to get along with here for the duration of his stay.
The plum haired girl next to him realized that everyone now turned to her, awaiting for her introduction.
"U-um, I'm Mikan Tsumiki." She stuttered out nervously. "The Ultimate Nurse. If you ever feel sick or are hurt anywhere, I-I'll help you out to the b-best of my abilities."
It was then that the students all turned their heads in his direction, Peter realizing he was the last to go.
"I'm surprised Hope's Peak got two foreigners this time around." Nagito spoke up in clear surprise. "Hope must be reaching further than ever before."
"Urgh, don't talk like a creep you weirdo." Hiyoko said in disdain. "Garbage like you should be the last type of person to talk at all."
Rather than being offended, Nagito took it all in stride, laughing with his arms raised.
"You're not wrong. I'm nothing compared to you Ultimates." Komaeda freely admitted.
Wow, talk about low self-esteem.
Having been silent for the duration of everyone introducing themselves, Koichi cleared his throat aloud and gave the last one to speak a pointed look.
"Parker." He said knowingly. "If you would please. And for the benefit of your new classmates, don't half-ass it."
Peter gave the drunk a flat look, the blond teacher grinning widely in response all while confusing the entire class as they looked back and forth between them.
It was clear to figure out that the two knew one another but what did Kizakura mean by not "half-assing" it as he said?
Peter then coughed into his hand, regaining everyone's attention, letting out an unenthusiastic sigh just as he was about to reveal his "Ultimate" talent.
See, when Tengan talked him into coming here, he figured he can have something that relates to something he was very good at and extremely knowledgeable in.
Like Chemistry or Physics, maybe even Mathematics and if not, the Ultimate Scientist as that was a broad enough term for all his talents to be lumped together.
But no, Kazuo selected his ultimate talent for him as a compromise for him having taken him in to live in his house.
"Don't Half-ass it." Koichi's voice cut through his thoughts.
"I heard ya the first time." Peter said in annoyance, now seeing that the other fifteen students were quite interested now since the man who scouted them out and was to be their homeroom teacher held this New Yorker in special regard.
Exhaling softly, Peter faces them all with a polite smile. "Hey guys, I'm Peter Parker and I-"
In the blink of an eye, his Iron Spider suit materialized his entire body, the entire class either jumping back in shock or getting bug eyed and having their jaws drop in astonishment.
"-Am Spider-Man, the Ultimate Superhero."
The response he got was almost immediate.
"WHOA~~~~" Kazuichi, Nekomaru, Ibuki, Akane and Teruteru exclaimed simultaneously.
"What was that just now?!" The mechanic asked in complete awe, eyes bouncing up and down the suit and seeing that it must be a metal alloy of some kind.
"It's like an unlockable suit in a video game." Chiaka commented in open wonder, forgetting about her game entirely.
"Oh my!" Sonia's eyes sparkled, stars in and around them appearing once more. "An actual, real life superhero! I am truly grateful to have come to Hope's Peak."
"What the fuck?" Fuyuhiko was also unable to hide his intrigue and amazement. "A fuckin' superhero? How in the fuck haven't we heard about you?"
"Ibuki is in complete awe!" Mioda exclaimed. "This calls for a new song. "Hero revelation at the gymnasium!". Ibuki's next hit!"
"A superhero you say?" Gundham appeared entranced yet also thrilled. "Kehehehehehe! At long last, a worthy adversary to begin the true expansion of the Tanaka Empire. Only a hero can vanquish a demon just as a demon has the power to annihilate a hero. Come, hero, face me in the duel to determine the fate of this and all universes! Go my four Dark Devas of Destruction!"
"SQUEEE!" Came the four squeaks of the Breeders hamsters who all appeared ready for combat.
"Holy shit, an actual superhero?" Akane was grinning like a wild dog. "Then that means you gotta be real strong right? Right? I know I'm right. You gotta fight me, no, you must."
"My word, I never would have thought to meet such a character." Teruteru remarked, rubbing his chin as a lecherous expression made its way onto his face. "To be in the presence of a real life superhero means that should there be danger, he'd be able to sweep me up into his strong and firm hands."
"God, you're such a disgusting animal." Hiyoko stated in open aggravation. "You need to bury yourself in a ditch where you can't bother anyone."
"Oh~~~ Are you offering milady? I had no idea you were into such extremes."
"Yuck! Stay away from me!"
"Unbelievable!" Nekomaru bellowed out. "I, Nidai Nekomaru, now have an ever greater goal to aspire to! To help those willing reach the physical prowess of a superhero! I swear it on my name that I will help manage the next superhero of this world!"
"A superhero." Mahiru murmured in wonder.
She gave Peter a stern warning earlier after defending him from Hiyoko's words about him making sure that her defending him wasn't for nothing… but for him to be this?
There were only three who were relatively more reserved or overall, lacked an outwards response that matched that of the rest of their classmates.
Peko Pekoyama observed the boy, finding him incredibly intriguing, both his suit and his title as the apparent Ultimate Superhero.
He sure looked the part with this suit yet appeared unassuming in his initial appearance.
Looks can be deceiving, as the saying goes.
Nagito, however, was far more reserved and skeptical though not in a negative manner.
More like he didn't understand how he himself, someone who worships Ultimates and sees them as the pinnacle of humanity, failed to learn or even hear a word about an Ultimate who was a superhero.
This teen standing before him was an anomaly.
And yet…
He couldn't deny that there was indeed something special about him. The air he had around him was indeed that of an Ultimate.
That still left him with a lot of questions and he was curious to see if this newcomer was indeed the Ultimate Superhero. He had the suit at least.
It was then that Nagito recalled an earlier interaction upon Peter's arrival.
"Mikan." Komaeda turned to the nurse who jolted slightly at hearing her name called.
"Y-Yes?" She nervously said.
"You seem to know Peter here." He mused aloud, thinking back to the way she immediately recognized him when he entered the gymnasium. "Have you two met before?"
"Oh?" She fidgeted slightly, poking her index fingers together. "W-Well, a-a-a few days ago-"
"She saved my life." Peter abruptly interjected.
"What?" Said several of the other students.
"Really?" Mahiru said in surprise and slight approval.
"Wh-what?" Mikan stammered, looking at Peter who had retracted his mask back, ignoring Kazuichi who had stars around his eyes at that simple display of what was to him, advanced technology.
He gave her an appreciative smile, shrugging slightly.
"What do you mean, what?" He jokingly asked. "You found me all bruised up in an alleyway and patched me up, remember?"
"Wow, really?" Hiyoko held a hand up to her face, a mocking laugh being heard by all. "So much for being a superhero if you needed saving from a pig face girl like her."
"P-pig face?" Tsumiki violently recoiled, tears peeking out of the corner of her eyes.
Peter immediately frowned, not liking how this kimono-garbed child was talking to someone who helped him when he first arrived in this universe without a second thought.
He was about to rebuke her comments when a deep chuckle was heard from the stage in the gymnasium.
"Careful who you say that to, Saionji-San." Koichi spoke in a faux admonishing tone, wagging his finger at her.
"Eh?" Hiyoko said in annoyance.
"See, Mr. Parker here is adhering to the true way of a hero in humility." The dapper scout remarked. "He can say that Mikan saved him but he also saved her from a ravenous monster that tried to kill them both. I'd say they're even steven for all intents and purposes."
"Ravenous monster?" Gundham parroted, his red eye glinting with clear interest. "Has one of my underlings from the netherworld escaped into this Mortal Plane?"
Koichi waved his hand down. "Story for another time."
He smirked at all the shoulders slumping in disappointment at the dismissal at what was clearly an interesting story to be told.
But the scout also recognized the look in their eyes when they instead focused on the foreign Superhero and Nurse beside him as the class figured they would likely tell them.
It was then and there that a mischievous glint appeared in the alcoholic's eyes as he cleared his throat before speaking once more.
"Alright, now that we got introductions out of the way, I say it's high time for a bonding exercise."
"What?" Kazuichi rubbed his head. "A bonding exercise? What for?"
"Well, are you not all going to be classmates?" Koichi asked in a rhetorical fashion. "It's high time you all get to know one another while also familiarizing yourselves with this school. So in that matter, I'm gonna split you guys up into groups of four."
"Whaa~~" Hiyoko clearly looked disinterested. "What makes you think I wanna hang out with half of these losers?"
"Just your luck then cause you'll only have to deal with a quarter of them." Kizakura cheekily countered, causing the dancer to flinch before she glared in clear irritation at the man.
"Ok, let's see, let's see." The teacher hummed aloud, lightly drumming his fingers on his chin as he looked over the group. "Right then, Chiaki, Gundham, Mikan and Peter will make up the first group."
Having heard her name called, Nanami looked up from the game she had resumed playing and looked over to the other three who were brought up alongside her.
"Ah, so we're exploring the school together then? Sounds like fun." She said in a pleasant fashion.
"Hmph, be grateful mortals for you have been blessed to be within the presence of the Supreme Overlord without risk of annihilation." Tanaka said, dramatically flicking his scarf over his shoulder.
"Um… cool." Peter murmured. "I guess."
He silently was thankful that at the very least he was with someone he was familiar with, that being Mikan. And that the other was Chiaki who had an overall chill vibe to her as a whole and is a video gamer. Not like he was hardcore into videogames but being a nerd meant there was a degree of gamer blood in him so win-win on getting two girls who were relatively nice.
Unbeknownst to the webhead, said Nurse whom he was glad to have paired up with shared in his sentiment though in a more quiet and jittery manner.
She twiddled her fingers together, happy to be with someone as nice as Peter and not with the extremely mean Hiyoko.
"For the second group…" Koichi's eyesight trailed over the other twelve students. "Ryota, Teruteru, Akane and Peko."
"Oh my~~~" The Ultimate Cook rubbed his chin with a delighted and untrustworthy grin. "Such fine ladies to accompany Lil' old me? I must've lucked out."
Everyone was so creeped out by the cook's declaration that they all missed Fuyuhiko leaning over to Peko and discreetly whispering into her ear.
"He tries anything inappropriate, knock him to the fucking moon."
Peko had absolutely no qualms about following that order.
"Hey, you say you're a cook, right?" Akane asked, looking down at the round chef who puffed his chest out with pride.
"Why of course I am, milady." Teruteru proudly proclaimed. "I can cook any and every dish under the sun."
"Great!" Akane cheerfully said. "Cause I'm starved. Think you can whip somethin' up for me?"
"Wonderful." He snapped his fingers upwards. "Already being called upon to use my talents. And for a stunning beauty no less. I intend to fully deliver on your requests."
"WOOHOO!" The buxom gymnast leapt into the air with her fist raised whilst Peko watched on in silence and Ryota only grumbled about not being able to work on new material because of this activity.
"Next up will be Nekomaru, Fuyuhiko, Mahiru and Sonia." Koichi announced. "Leaving Kazuichi, Nagito, Ibuki and Hiyoko."
"Ah man, what?!" The pink haired mechanic bemoaned aloud. "Why'd I have to get lumped in with the squirt? I wanted to go with Miss Sonia."
"What'd you say to me you shitty grease monkey?" Saionji got in Soda's face, making the teen stumble back.
"Grease monkey?" Kazuichi parroted, looking down at his clothes momentarily. "This is a brand new suit, you know."
"Ibuki's new adventure begins now!" The eccentric musician loudly declared.
"This truly is the start to a new adventure." Sonia happily agreed to Mioda's sentiments. "Come fellow classmates, let us bond in our time of youth!"
"Of course!" The gargantuan team manager bellowed at the top of his lungs. "I promise you that I will fulfill all your desires for an amazing first day if my name isn't Nidai Nekomaru!"
Mahiru only laughed nervously whilst Fuyuhiko had a deadpan look on his face, silently cursing his luck at being paired up with two loudmouths. Only Sonia managed to match the tall teens energy, her fist in the air, emulating Nidai's posture.
They were certainly excitable.
"Ok then." Koichi said, smirking at their behavior. "Introductions and groups have been made. Off with you all."
"Aren't you supposed to be the one to show us around?" The photographer of the class inquired, clearly disapproving of the blond man's casual, laid back nature in how he was conducting himself right now.
Kizakura simply waved her question off. "Not my style, little lady. Now, off with you all. You've got a school to familiarize yourselves with. Don't forget to swing by the nurses office to get your measurements for your school uniforms."
And like that, some grumblings aside, the four groups of four dispersed in different directions in the school that they would be attending for the next few years.
Peter felt a bit awkward as his group walked in relative silence for the most part until Gundham rounded on him, red eye gleaming and four Dark Devas in position on his shoulders.
"Tell me now, hero."
Was that a growl?
Peter honestly couldn't tell as he was too confused at the strange animal lover in front of him.
"From what domain do you hail from? Are you from the seven heavens above or cast out of the nine hells for choosing to be selfless rather than selfish?" Tanaka inquired, grandiose and over the top.
Now, here's the thing. Peter Parker was a nerd through and through, proud of it. And being a nerd his entire life has given him "privy" to multiple types of "nerd speak".
"Nerd speak" being a litany of secret languages or certain lingo revolving around a certain fandom like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Anime of many varieties.
So it's rather surprising to say that Peter was for once at a bit of a loss as to what Gundham had just asked of him.
Domain? Like…
"He's asking where you're from." The quiet gamer next to him spoke up, voice soft and subdued.
"Huh? Why didn't he just ask me that from the get-go?" Parker asked the hooded girl who simply shrugged.
"Answer thine question or risk destruction, hero."
"Why do you say hero like that?"
"Is that not what you are, Mortal? Or is the title merely a mask for an even greater form and power?" The animal lover was… well, Peter was at a momentary loss for words in how to describe the guy.
Weird would be a good start and even then it would feel like a half-baked answer.
"Ok…" Peter murmured. "I'm from Queens, New York. America."
"The domain of possibility and contradictions?" Tanaka mused, crossing his arms and closing his eyes in thought. "Fascinating. Rather appropriate perhaps given the circumstances."
What was he even talking about now?
"A-Ah." Mikan squeaked slightly, fidgeting as she nervously looked at the superhero. "Peter, a-are you s-sure you're fully healed? Those injuries y-you had when I found you-"
"Healing factor." Peter interrupted her. "Comes with the powers."
"Healing factor?" Chiaki repeated curiously. "Like, you can recover faster than most?"
"Uh, yeah, basically." Peter said with a shrug. "Most bruises and cuts take like about… I guess a good night's rest. Haven't broken anything yet or maybe I have and I didn't notice it."
That seemed to send Mikan into a tizzy as she began demanding they go to the nurses office and get an X-ray done to see if there was any internal damage she may have missed.
"But is it that you can exactly do, hero?" Gundham queried, adopting a contemplative posture. "The healer here appears to be privy to your abilities yet I along with the silent one have yet to see any displays of abilities. A showcase is in order."
'He sounds Shakespearean… sort of.' Were Peter's thoughts on the manner in which Tanaka spoke. Strange but somewhat entertaining.
At least no two sentences were the same.
"Ah, I am kinda curious." The Gamer girl said aloud, tapping her finger to her chin. "You say you're a superhero so what kind of powers do you have?"
That's certainly one way of putting him on the spot.
Then again, his reveal was rather memorable, despite him not wanting to out himself but he kinda already did.
So really, where was the harm in showing off a little?
He had retracted his Iron Spider suit at this time and was just in normal clothing.
"Well, going by Spider-Man and all, got a lot of abilities revolving around being a spider."
Not waiting to hear their responses or questions, Peter jumped up, flipping in the air and sticking to the ceiling above.
"Whoa~~~" Chiaki whispered out, a glimmer of stars around her eyes. "Just like a video game."
"Astonishing!" Gundham exclaimed far more dramatically. "I understand now, hero, to whom you have formed a pact with. The contract that you have made is with that of the Spider-God Anansi!"
"That…" Peter raised a finger to object but frowned thoughtfully.
That would actually make for a good assumption in hindsight and really, in his universe, not outside the realm of possibility.
After learning that Thor was real along with the rest of the Nordic Gods, there were talks all over the world of the reality that maybe the other pantheons from other cultures and civilizations also existed. So Tanaka's assumption of him being bestowed his powers by the Spider-God Anansi wasn't nearly as far-fetched as one would think it to be.
"Good guess but no." Peter said, falling back down and landing on his feet. "I wasn't born with these powers or got them from a contract. I actually got these powers by complete accident."
"Accident?" The three parroted in confusion.
"You weren't born with these powers?" Chiaki questioned.
"Er, yeah." Peter rubbed the back of his head. "It's kinda lame when ya look at it but I got these powers from a spider bite."
"A s-spider bit you?" Mikan asked just to be sure she wasn't hearing things. The medical implications and astronomical anomalies were… Well, they were frankly nigh impossible.
"Yeah, silly as it sounds honestly." Peter looked at the bed of hamsters. "Hey, maybe that spider was an avatar for Anansi."
"Foolish Hero, what else could it have possibly been?" Tanaka rhetorically asked, crossing his arms in a triumphant manner.
Peter found himself chuckling at the bizarre teen. "Cool as that would be, sorry to burst your bubble and all, but it was a genetically modified spider that was made in a lab back home in America."
"Ah, that's still pretty unique." Chiaki commented. "It sounds like something out of my videogames."
"Tell us Man who represents the arachnids, what was it that has been bestowed upon you?" Gundham said, getting into a pose with his hamsters imitating his posture.
"Huh?" Was Peter's response.
"I think he's asking about what abilities and powers you have." Chiaki translated, tapping her chin in thought.
Turns out her translation proved true with a dark chuckle and nod emanating from the animal lover.
"Uh… why didn't he just- ah forget it." Parker crossed his arms and took a moment to think on his powers. "Well, I got a lot of the generic ones down. You know, super strength, speed, stamina, dexterity etc. etc."
"Wh-what about th-that s-sticky stuff?" Mikan asked. "The thing y-you used to m-move around like that?"
"Oh that." Peter held up his wrist, rolling down his sleeves to reveal his hidden web shooters. "That's my own web formula I concocted by myself. Helps me swing around, trap bad guys and such. Whatever a spider can type of thing."
"Power along with intelligence." Gundham's shoulders shook as he laughed. "Truly, this is the ideal adversary I have long awaited. Once you fall before me, you shall become my servant and aid in my endeavors for world domination. Fuhahahahahaha!"
This guy…
He was certainly notching himself up there as one of the absolute strangest individuals Peter has ever met.
And that's saying something considering the universe he comes from.
"Ah, wouldn't that be adverse to being a superhero, Tanaka?" Chiaki inquired. "Heroes are supposed to protect and save people, not dominate them."
"Kehehehehehe! You are to short sighted to see the grander scope to my plans." Gundham proudly boasted.
"Right~" Peter murmured. "So, aren't we still supposed to be exploring the school or something?"
"Wh-what is there to s-see?" Mikan asked, seeing the brunette shrug his shoulders.
"I dunno, guess that's for us to find out." He glanced over at Nanami who appeared dazed as she was looking ahead quietly.
His momentary look at the gamer girl gave him a quick idea to rope her in. "Let's think of it like an open world game with no instructions and all about discovery."
Her head couldn't turn any faster, a gleam in her eyes now.
"I think that sounds like a great idea." Chiaki declared aloud, raising a fist into the air.
Peter found himself laughing at her enthusiasm. "Yeah, we're a traveling party."
This only served to further incentivize the Ultimate Gamer as she was now behind the still timid and meek Nurse who yelped at being pushed forward by the normally calm and aloof girl.
"Come on Mikan, you're our healer."
Gundham apparently seemed to be on board with this notion, laughing aloud.
"Nanami is correct. Being our healer therefore prioritizes your role above the rest of ours." Tanaka stated. "For us to survive on this adventure, we must keep you safe for you to treat our wounds in the event that we do battle."
"Treat your wounds." Mikan said quietly to herself before she scrunched up in a far more determined fashion than her usual shy self. "Yes, you can count on me!"
"Then onwards." Peter boisterously said, pointing ahead down the hallway they stood in with the group of four walking forward with a bit more energy in their step.
They passed by several rooms with them taking quick peaks inside as to what they were.
One was an art room of some kind, another looked to be a lounge with some games that forced Chiaki's companions to pull her away lest she stayed there for the rest of the day.
This process was repeated with Gundham upon discovering the animal sanctuary that he had requested had been built for him.
Though they eventually had to drag him out of there, they were treated to the sight of his natural ability with animals with him being able to almost commune with each one naturally.
Afterwards, they stumbled upon a chemistry lab, exciting Peter as not only was he glad to see such a place was in the Academy but he also had the chance to show his group how he makes his web fluid.
It was fascinating for Gundham, Chiaki and Mikan to watch, seeing him make his webbing before having it all get condensed into cartridges for storage and later use.
His knowledge of chemistry was rather astounding, making Chiaki ask how he got so good at it.
The answer was surprising for her as well as Tanaka and Mikan.
"I've always been good at chemistry." Peter revealed. "Physics, Mathematics, Thermodynamics, most science stuff really."
"Hmmm, it appears you are more scholarly than you let on, Hero." Gundham mused aloud.
"All this talk of science stuff makes you sound like you should have been the Ultimate Scientist." Chiaki remarked, making Peter blink at her before he chuckled.
"Ya know, it's funny ya mention that. Ultimate Scientist was what I originally wanted to go by before coming to this school." Peter stated, looking at one of the small tubes that contained additional chemicals for strengthening his web fluid. "But Ultimate Superhero was instead chosen for me."
"Chosen?" Mikan parroted. "B-but how? I-I th-thought you just g-got your t-title with your talent."
"Not for me." Peter shook his head. "Mr. Kazuo chose it for me cause… well he was really adamant about it, honestly. Said it was to shake up the status quo."
"Mr. Kazuo… you mean Tengan Kazuo? The previous headmaster of Hope's Peak?" Chiaki asked for clarification.
"Yeah him." Peter confirmed, surprising his three classmates. "He chose the title of my talent."
"The overlord of this domain selected your moniker? What delivery is this?" Tanaka questioned in befuddlement.
Peter only shrugged. "Dunno. Maybe you can ask him if you see him."
His three new classmates only stared at him, finding the New Yorker stranger and stranger by the moment.
But they opted not to question things further as they resumed their exploration of the Academy. They found several other locations such as the cafeteria and nurses office with Mikan making quick work in taking out measurements before they checked out the outside of the school.
Soon enough, the quartet found themselves near the front of the school, all taking a moment to rest at a fountain they seated around.
It was rather quaint and peaceful, the four of them sitting around the fountain in a comfortable silence.
In this silence, Peter was once again in deep thought.
While he had gotten along with his new classmates on his first day in this weird universe, there was a feeling of hesitation on his part in trying to get to know them. Now one might ask why have such reservations?
A bunch of answers can work in this instance such as the person being shy, not necessarily sociable, a loner type of individual.
Now, some of those descriptions do fit Peter to a degree. He's not the most sociable guy but that doesn't mean he's inept at it.
No, the main hesitation is rather obvious.
This wasn't his universe.
Despite what had happened with Strange, Peter had full confidence that the Master Sorcerer would be able to rectify his situation and pluck him back home.
But that was yet to happen.
And quite frankly, a terrifying thought crossed his mind.
What if there was no way back home? What if the spell that went haywire backfired in such a way that he was effectively stuck here?
Peter rapidly shook his head, trying to dispel such thoughts. They would do him no good here.
Yet trying to ignore such things was easier said than done. Especially when confronted with it if he truly was stuck here.
"U-um, Peter?"
The spider-themed superhero blinked upon hearing Mikan's meek voice, turning to the nervous nurse who was staring at him worriedly.
"Are y-you ok?" She stutteringly asked.
"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine. Why, what's wrong?"
"I think that's what we should be asking you." The soft voice of Chiaki stated who was seated right by the plum-haired girl. "You look like something's bothering you."
"Indeed." Tanaka now spoke up. "Your aura is that of a troubled soul, not at all of a confident servant of Justice. This disgruntled aura was detected by my four Dark Devas of Destruction. Speak now Hero. Why are you disturbed?"
'That is one of the most convoluted ways I've ever heard anybody ask me if I was alright.' Were Peter's thoughts. And he was mentored by Tony Stark for crying out loud. Simplicity was never that man's MO.
Letting out a small sigh, he shot them an apologetic expression. "Sorry guys, just have a lot on my mind is all. It's a bit complicated."
"Are you feeling unwell?" Mikan asked straight away though Peter shook his head.
"No, I'm perfectly… Well, physically I'm ok." Parker quickly corrected himself. "But mentally is a whole other ball game."
"What is it then?" Chiaki inquired, gazing at him having lowered the game console she had in hand.
"Like I said, it's complicated." Peter plainly stated.
Before the trio of classmates were able to question him any further, they heard a soft click of some kind and they all turned to see none other than Mahiru Koizumi lowering her camera with a pleased expression.
"You guys looked really nice there." The redhead happily stated before any of them were able to ask what she was doing. "I wanted to capture the moment."
"Ah, Mahiru, there you-Oh, hello fellow classmates!"
Peter's group turned to see Sonia and Nekomaru walking up to them with Fuyuhiko trailing slightly behind.
"Did you all finish exploring the Academy?" Sonia inquired, standing in front of them with a radiant smile.
Peter actually had to make sure he wasn't seeing or feeling things but… what was this air around the girl? There was an almost regal like quality to her poise and demeanor and that smile of hers…
Was this what she meant when she called herself the Ultimate Princess?
"Our portions of it." Chiaki casually answered. "We decided to take a break."
"Glad we found you doing it here." Fuyuhiko spoke up with a roll of his eyes. "These two clowns could barely stand still. Nidai and queen ditz here kept running around, dragging me and Mahiru all over the place."
"Where is your school spirit, Fuyuhiko?!" Nekomaru bellowed aloud and… wait, where was that electricity even coming from? "This is a chance to experience some of the best years of our lives! The time to truly improve ourselves to become greater than our talents! And I, Nidai Nekomaru, promise to assist with any and all endeavors you set yourselves up with to help you go beyond the limits of your presumed capabilities!"
"We haven't even had a proper first day of class ya dumbass." Fuyuhiko growled out, an annoyed expression present for all to see. "Don't go sayin' weird shit like that when we've all only just met today."
Mahiru only laughed nervously at all this, feeling a bit overwhelmed by their personalities.
Peter couldn't help but feel sorry for the girl though in a more amused manner. Thus far, out of all the new classmates he had met today, the camera enthusiast was possibly the closest to being normal out of all of them.
They had all made small talk for a brief few minutes, speaking of where they had been and what they had seen in the school with Peter chiming in every now and then.
Wasn't really all that much to talk about but there was an incredibly entertaining moment that when Gundham went on yet another over dramatic speech about his "empire" to come, his hamsters caught the attention of the Princess of Novoselic.
Her comments of how adorable they were gave them the image of a flustered breeder who hiked up his scarf to cover his face to little avail.
As the conversation went on, the New Yorker of the group flinched slightly as he felt a ringing in his ears until he recognized just what was happening.
Peter froze up, staring ahead as he felt his sixth sense begin to blare in alarm.
His classmates appeared none the wiser to his abrupt change in mood, his expression morphing into that of intense concentration. Everything around him became a blur and slightly muffled.
He slowly stood up from his seat, something that was noticed by the others.
"Parker?" Sonia's voice was muffled. "Is everything alright?"
"What's with that look?" Fuyuhiko questioned, looking at Tanaka, Chiaki and Mikan since they were the ones that he had spent the most time with.
"I don't know." Nanami quietly said, a strange weariness coming over her.
She had never seen anyone have such an intense gaze like Peter's and it was rather worrying.
Mikan was equally as concerned and was about to ask what was wrong when the group froze at the sound of an explosion going off in the background.
All their heads now snapped in the direction that was towards the exit of the academy grounds and off in the distance was a large plume of smoke.
"Wh-what?" Mahiru nervously stammered. "What's going-"
"Peter!" Mikan cried out, the group seeing Peter sprint off at full speed towards the sound of screams as yet another explosion went off.
"Where the fuck is that idiot running off to?!" Kuzuryu exclaimed, too stunned to move for a moment.
They were all treated to the sight of the Iron Spider suit materializing around him again as he jumped into the air and fired a webline at a nearby lamp post.
Pulling it back, the Avenger became a blur of red, blue and gold as he slingshot himself directly towards the sound of the commotion.
"What is he doing?!" Mahiru shouted.
Mikan stood up from her seat in utter fear upon realizing what Peter was doing.
He was called the Ultimate Superhero right? And heroes run towards danger, not from it.
With all that running through her head, she broke off from the group, dashing in the direction Peter had swung off to, ignoring her classmates' calls for her to stop.
Over with the web-swinger, he swung out from the Academy grounds and into the city streets.
His sixth sense was guiding his direction as he followed after the wake of destruction that he soon spotted.
People were all over, hurt, scared and in complete disarray.
Eventually getting past an area that was under construction, Peter spotted men and women running away from the area in terror.
Pivoting in midair, Spider-Man swung down to the entrance of the construction site and landed in the center where he stood before a large cloud of kicked up dirt.
As soon as he landed however, his tingle went off and his lenses widened upon seeing a metal beam being thrown at him through the smoke.
With a quick flip into the air, the metal material flew past beneath him and he landed in a crouch just as the ground began to shake slightly.
Then, from the smoke, a metallic, mechanical limb with three claws and red glowing center popped out and slammed into the ground where Peter landed moments ago. The New York native squinted his eyes slightly as he saw a figure of some kind through the smoke that was hard to distinguish and around it were three additional metal limbs.
The smoke slowly began to clear to reveal a man perhaps in his forties wearing an overall dark attire with black shaded sunglasses. He towered over Peter as the four mechanical limbs held him aloft in the air.
It took a moment for the man to see Spider-Man but upon spotting him, there was a sinister grin for him to see.
"Hello Peter."
And just like that, I'll leave it there for you guys.
Still loving the response you guys have all been giving me in your interest in this story and I hope I can continue to surprise you guys with what's to come.
I hope these unique and weird crossovers gain more traction like some other comrades of mine who do these kinds of mix ups like VixenRose1996 and DLTA-BOT.
But Anywho, hope you guys love the chapter and hate me for the cliffhanger, gurarararararara.
