The team was in the base, just lounging around. Hiro was in the corner, talking on the phone. Board, Fred was eavesdropping on his conversation.
"Tonight should be alright. I'll walk you there. Can never promise that won't happen. See you tonight sweetie" said Hiro before hanging up. Fred's mouth was hanging open.
"I gotta meet a friend. See you guys tomorrow" called out Hiro as he left.
"Bye Hiro" was everyone's response. Once Hiro was out the door, Go-go saw Fred's face.
"What's with the dumb look" she asked.
"I think Hiro has a girlfriend" he said. The others stopped what they were doing and stared at him with their mouths slightly agape.
"Wh-what gave you that idea" asked Go-go.
“Well, I was eavesdropping on him while he was on the phone” he started before getting cut off by Honey Lemmon.
“Why would you do that” she said with a glare.
“So not the point. Anyway, at the end of the conversation, Hiro called this person sweetie. Why would he do that if this person wasn’t his girlfriend” said Fred.
“He has a point” said Wasabi.
“First time for everything” said Go-go.
“Why would Hiro keep this from us” asked Honey Lemon.
“Hold on, we don’t know if he actually has a girlfriend” said Go-go.
“Someone sounds jealous” teased Fred. Go-go punched him in the chest.
“Maybe if I was younger” she said.
“He’d be mine if I was younger” said Honey.
“Guys, we’re getting off topic” said Wasabi.
“Maybe Baymax knows” said Fred.
“It is weird that Hiro didn’t take Baymax with him” siad Go-go.
“That is because Hiro says dates are for two people only” said Baymax.
“So he DOES have a girlfriend” exclaimed Fred.
“Yes” said Baymax.
“Are you going to tell us who” asked Fred.
“No” said Baymax.
“Why not” asked Fred.
“I promised Hiro not to tell anyone who his girlfriend is” said Baymax.
“Why would Hiro keep this from us. We’re his friends” asked Honey.
“Wait, Baymax. You told us that Hiro has a girlfriend” said Go-go.
“Hiro told me not to tell anyone who his girlfriend is. He didn’t say anything about not telling that he has a girlfriend” said Baymax.
“You sly dog” said Wasabi.
“I am not a dog. I’m a robot” said Baymax.
“It’s a figure of speech” said Wasabi.
“Let’s think about this. Who are girls that Hiro hangs out with a lot” said Go-go. Everyone just stared at her in disbelief.
“What, I want to know too” she said.
“Besides us, the only other people he’s really around are Cass, Karmi and Megan” said Honey.
“It must be Megan. Karmi is still overseas” said Fred.
“Hold on, Karmi and him could be having a long distance relationship” said Wasabi.
“No. Hiro is going on a date with her tonight. I also heard that” said Fred. Everyone looked at each other for a moment, and shot up and out the door, pulling Baymax with them.
Meanwhile, Hiro was all dressed up and holding a bouquet of flowers. He knocked on the door, and Chief Cruz opened it.
"Hello Hiro. Here for Megan I suppose" he said with a bright smile.
"Yeah, is she ready" asked Hiro.
"Megan, your boyfriend is here" called out Chief Cruz.
"I'm not ready yet" she called back.
"Have a seat, Hiro. How's everything going" asked Chief Cruz.
“It’s been really busy, but everything is going well. My speech was a big hit” said Hiro.
“We watched the video, it was really inspiring. Makes me wish we could’ve been there” said Chief Cruz.
“Thanks. It was hard, but I’ve been doing a lot of really hard things lately” said Hiro. This made Chief Cruz laugh.
“That you have. What has been the hardest, if you don’t mind me asking” asked Chief Cruz.
“Asking Megan to be my girlfriend. I’ve faced down stars and dove through portals, but asking a simple question was way harder” said Hiro.
“Right answer” said Chief Cruz.
“I’m ready” came Megan’s voice from behind him. Hiro’s breath escaped him and he felt his knees go slightly weak. She was wearing a green dress and had her hair down.
“Wow, you look beautiful” he said. She blushed and tucked some hair behind her ear.
“Thanks. You look handsome” she said. This made him turn red as he nervously handed her the flowers.
"I got these for you" he said.
"They're beautiful. Thank you babe" she said.
"You're welcome" he said.
"Be back by 10. And have fun" said Chief Cruz.
"We will. Have a good day Chief Cruz" said Hiro. The chief nodded and the young couple walked out the door.
"Have you told your friends about us yet" asked Megan.
"I'm going to surprise them. I was thinking about having you drop by the base and kiss me, so we could see their reactions" he said.
"You sly devil" said Megan.
Meanwhile, the rest of the team were crammed into Wasabi's car. They were at a park at the edge of town.
"Baymax, you said they'd be here" said Fred.
"I lied" said Baymax.
"Why" asked Honey.
"Because it's wrong. Hiro was only keeping his relationship a secret because he wanted to surprise you" said Baymax.
"It’s too late now. We won’t get in their way, but we want to see” said Fred.
“We’ll drive all over town until we find them” said Wasabi.
Meanwhile, Hiro and Megan were eating at an outdoor dinner. Hiro was telling her about one of Fred's mishaps.
"No way. Even he's not that dumb" she said.
"Unfortunately, he is" said Hiro. This just made Megan laugh even more. Hiro felt a certain joy go through him when she laughed. He found himself staring.
"Babe, you're staring again" she said with a playful smirk.
"Sorry. You just have a really nice laugh" he said. This made her smile warmly before taking a bite of her food.
"Megan, why do you like me" he asked. She gave him a firm look.
"Are you really asking that" she said.
"Yes. I guess I just don't see why. I lied to you for so long" he said.
"And I get why you did. I'm not mad about it" she said.
"But still. What do you see in me" he asked.
"Lots of things. First off, you're really brave. Not everyone can do what you do" she said. Hiro smiled and looked into her eyes.
“You’re also really kind and sweet. You’re determined to help people, which is really amerable. Not to mention really attractive” she said. Hiro opened his mouth to speak, but she put a finger over it. She was wearing a flirtatious smirk.
“You’re also really physically attractive. Mostly cute, but you’re also a little hot” she said. This made him blush.
“The thing I don’t understand is what you see in me. You’re a genius. And I’m not even close. Why me” she asked.
“I don’t care that you’re not a genius. You’re smart, beautiful, funny, brave and can bring me back into reality. You mean a lot to me, Megan. Don’t ever forget that” he said. Tears formed in her eyes as she kissed him.
“There’s that sweetness I was talking about” she said.
“It’s all true, You’re the one I think about the most when I’m fighting” he said.
“Hiro, I love you” she said.
“I love you too” he said. A massive smile came on her face as she kissed him again.
The others were watching and listening from the car and were smiling. Honey and Wasabi were crying as well.
“Our little Hiro is all grown up” said Fred.
“He has a girlfriend now. And she’s a keeper” said Go-go.
