Let you break my heart again~
"AHH!!" The new alarm clock I had bought for this school year startled me as it was time to wake up. Today I would get to know the rest of my teachers and classmates so I was a bit excited, but looking at the 6:45AM my alarm clock displayed made me want to go sleep again. That was until I saw Chuuya in his basketball uniform: it made me forget about all my issues.
When I got out of my dorm, I found Kyouka, Lucy and Sigma already waiting for me outside. Lucy wore her usual style of clothing (cottagecore), Kyouka a very comfy combination of sweatshirt and sweatpants that looked really soft and Sigma opted for high heels with wide legged pants and an elegant shirt with a vest. Seeing how well we complemented each other, I thought we'd make the perfect friend group in no time. As for what I was wearing, I chose to wear some wide legged pants with a pair of sneakers with platforms that made me look some inches taller. We all looked stunning.
As I was about to go hug Lucy, a hand touched my shoulder and I tunred around to find Chuuya there, offering me a goodbye hug in case we didn't see each other until all lessons had finished, so I leaned in and we hugged. "Haha Atsushi, you sure hug fiercely like a tiger!""Ah, do you think so Chuuya?" He said goodbye then leaving me with a reddened face. Before facing my friends, I calmed down and I ignored the look Lucy gave me. "Fiercely like a tiger hmm?""Haha, I'm sure he didn't mean anything with that statement!" I answered nerviously and we kept on with our day as we went to class. Math class was the last one before recess, and Ryuu and I still hand't talked to each other, embarrassed because of yesterday's situation no one else knew about (except Tachi). When the bell announcing recess rang I felt a hand holding onto me, and I looked everywhere only to find out no one but Ryuu and I stayed in class. " 'tsu, I wanted to apologize for yesterday's chaos.""It's okay Ryuu, how about we hang out today afternoon? We can have a picnic made and just lay in the grass like we used to." As his mouth curved in a smile, my heart rate fastened. "It's a plan then." And like that, we went to enjoy our break under the sun.
Lucy's pov:
Ah, how oblivious Atsushi is. They don't think I can read through them, but I am positive that they are crazy about this childhood-friend-almost lover kind of thing they have going on with Ryuunosuke. I noticed, though, another thing poking right in front of my eyes. This new roomate Atsushi has, Chuuya, seemed to make Atsu a bit shy, which could only mean one thing: They were embarrassed to admit they were attracted to him. I thought "Atsu is a dumbass" to myself because they were so easy to read. I won't budge them unless they want to talk to me about it though...
Atsu's nervous answer gave me the confirmation I needed. "Hey, Earth to Atsushi, shall we go to class? A tiring day is lying ahead" They were so in thought that my words startled them, but we all quickly went to class, where they would of course sit with their best friend-boyfriend-crush. Class time went by SO SLOWLY... After leaving Kyouka in her class with her "friend" Kenji (who wore clothes that matched hers) we went back to ours and observed how an uncomfortable silence made its way into their space and I wondered if it had anything to do with yesterday's act.
Ryuunosuke's pov:
And like that, we went to enjoy our break under the sun. I was planning to let Atsushi know all about my big ass crush at the party, whenever we would be able to run away from everyone's gaze. I wasn't going to tell them that, though. To push away the uncomfortable feeling that had been sitting between us since yesterday I offered an apology I knew they would take, and the problem was solved. I found myself blushing at the sight of their smile when I accepted their picnic suggestion, and it all felt like time had stopped and as if we were 10 years old again. I was surely looking forward to having that picnic alone with 'tsu. I would take my chances if there were any.
After school...
I was preparing all the food we would need for Ryuu and I's picnic, we decided he would bring the eating utensils and the blanket while I would prepare the food. Before going outside, we would pass by the vending machines to buy some drinks. "Ryuu, aren't you excited?!! It is our first official hangout since we found each other again!" I smiled and felt Ryuu's hand in mine. I intertwined my fingers with his and we went to get whatever was left in order to be ready to go outside. It was sunny, so the setting sun set the perfect atmosphere for our plan. I found myself staring at Ryuu with no apparent reason, to turn my gaze away being an impossible task at hand. I knew he noticed it too, but we were so focused in each other's eyes that it didn't really matter what anyone else would think at that moment of peace and comfort, in that place, far away from everything that could ever disturb us. It truly felt magical, a feeling and a situation my heart had been longing for for the longest time. In the end, we found ourselves feeding each other bits of this and that so we would try all the food we brought to the picnic. I loved the way the sun shone in Ryuunosuke's eyes, in his smile, in his pale skin and I loved his closed eyes as we both pretended to be asleep. Whenever he'd open his eyes, I closed mine and we continued with that "game" until the sun hid, putting an end to its job for today. I, at some point, ended up approaching Ryuu, still laying on the floor, and we watched the sun set while we hugged each other.
Ryuunosuke's pov:
The sun did all the work to provide us with an spectacular scenery and it looked at us for the whole afternoon. Atsushi's eyelashes and eyes looked sunbathed, and their pale skin looked really shiny and beautiful under the sun, they were the most alluring individual I had ever seen. When we finished eating (we both ended up full) we layed down on the grass and stared at each other's souls in an attempt of a hide and seek game. I realized, at that exact moment, that all the moments, feelings and looks from Atsushi I had missed were back: it was just like it used to be. In that remote garden, I thought I was the luckiest person on Earth because I got to be like this with my loved one. As the sun hid and the moon rose to the sky, we decided we would watch the stars and admire each other (although we didn't say anything for a while, our connection felt so special we didn't need words to express what we were thinking about). After checking time, I realized we had barely halaf an hour left to enjoy from our picnic before it was bedtime. " 'tsu, what if we get up and dance under the stars?" Atsu agreed enthusiastically to my proposal and as I took their hand, the other one resting on my neck, we began to dance for the millionth time (when we were kids, we would learn new dances every so often that no one but each other kept up with our dancing ability). We moved around the stars, as if they were our public, and when Atsu leaned in to close the gap between us I felt my heart skip a beat and speed up. Having their head on my chest felt like I was in paradise, and I wouldn't have traded that feeling for anything in the whole world.
When we stopped dancing, I gave them a peck in their forehead and we went back inside holding hands. When I said goodbye to Atsushi, I could only wonder when would we have a new chance to feel like this next to each other, and I hoped it would be very soon just as I remembered there were barely three days left for the party.
...
And like that, both Atsushi and Ryuunosuke rested as well as they hadn't in a while that night. Maybe dreaming about each other, the party, or the clothes they'd wear to the upcoming event, whatever Atsushi had whispered to Ryuunosuke or whatever Ryuunosuke had to talk to Atsushi about at the party... They would find out, eventually.
