MJ is taking orders from the costumers.
ned is studying while drinking coffe.
peter stares from the window.
okay, okay, it's creepy, he knows. staring at two teenagers who think your'e a stranger is not the best way to befriend them - but - peter isn't trying to befriend them, so... mabye it's ok?

''hey peter parker.'' a female voice said. peter froze. MJ was standing at the shop's door with a small smile on her face.
''you- you remember my name?'' peter asked, refusing to believe that he is that lucky and that doctor strange is that bad at the forgetting spell. like, it's the second time he get this wro-
''well, it's not every day that someone give me their full name. usually it's just harry potter references and such.'' she answared as she rolled her eyes. peter couldn't help but feeling his heart break. she doesn't remember. it was stupid to think she does.
''It's lunch time. wanna get in and have a moldy sandwich in a ridiculous price?'' she asked.
''ah, your boss must like you alot.'' he heard himself saying. he's not supposed to crack jokes with her!
she snorted. ''I get paid minimum. I couldn't care less about you not wanting to buy one of our sandwiches.''
''and here is why your'e getting paid minimum.'' he said and regretted it immediately. it was ok to make comments about her behavior when they were a couple because she always knew he was joking. but now she doesn't know it. now she doesn't know him.
but she smiled and let out a chuckle and hesitated before she talked again.
''um... my shift ending in three hours. wanna tell me more about my flaws then?''
peter knew he shouldn't. he chose to keep the truth to himself to protect her , and ned, and mabye even himself. because seeing aunt may's dead body everytime he closes his eyes is more than enough for him to deal with. he doesn't need to see theirs' too.
but.
what was happening right now isn't normal. everyone who knows mj also knows about her trust issues. she would never invite a stranger to a date. so... mabye she does remember a glimpse of him. sure, she doesn't know who he is, but she knows he's a good guy. that is something, right?
and than his eyes met the cut in her brow again.
''I'm sorry, but i'm busy today.'' he said, his heart breaking again.
''oh,'' was all mj said before waving goodbye and returning inside.

peter pounched the car theif a little harder than he should when he patrolled that night.
