Yelena x reader x Bucky
Yelena and Bucky had been in control of the mob for almost ten years.
And during those ten years, they had learned that people would do anything to gain favour with them.
The two had gotten used to being given fancy cars, expensive watches, and on the odd occasion, even a house here or there.
Bucky and Yelena had quickly learnt that every gift came with strings, and they almost always refused the gifts.
Men and women would do or say anything to gain Yelena and Bucky's favour.
And then they met you, and the only thing you wanted was them.
You had a job you refused to quit, you paid your share for dates, and you didn't let them buy you.
It threw the two for a loop because they hadn't had a person like you in their lives for years.
But it didn't matter how unused to you they were because you weren't leaving.
"Loves! I'm home!" You called, entering the house and tossing your keys into the bowl. "Anyone here?"
"In the den, kitten!"
"Both of you need to stop shouting so much," Yelena loudly said before meeting you halfway. "Welcome home." She said, pressing a kiss to your cheek.
"It's good to be home." You happily sighed as Yelena pulled you into her arms. "Do I smell pasta? Did you cook?"
"Ha!" Yelena snorted. "Do you smell smoke? No, we got dinner on the way home." She said, pulling you towards the den.
"There she is!" Bucky smiled, rising from the couch to pull you into an embrace. "How was work?"
"Well, it's a veterinary clinic, so there's only so much excitement that can happen." You mentioned. "What about you two? Did everything go alright with your meeting today?"
"Well, we're not dead." Yelena joked.
"Don't joke." You narrowed your eyes at the woman.
"Alright, alright, I'm sorry," Yelena said, holding her hands up high. "But us walking out alive is a good thing."
"Alright, no more business tonight," Bucky said, leading you to the couch. "Let's get some food into you."
"Good. I'm starving." You sighed, kicking your shoes off and throwing them into the corner.
"Didn't you have lunch?" Yelena asked, passing you a container. "I swear I saw you pack a lunch today."
"I did." You nodded, shovelling a forkful of pasta into your mouth. "But I only had Gretchen at the clinic today, and it was crazy busy."
"What happened to the other two girls you work with?" Bucky wondered.
"One called in sick, and the other didn't come in. She didn't even bother to call and give us an excuse." You scoffed. "So because of those two and Gretchen's famous two-hour breaks, I didn't get to have one today."
"You want us to go talk to your coworkers?" Yelena suggested.
"No. No, I don't want you talking to my coworkers." You shook your head. "Margie will be back Monday, and since I'm reporting to her, I'll let her know everything that happened." You told the two.
"You know, you wouldn't have to worry about any of this if you'd just quit and let us take care of you," Bucky mentioned.
"I've already told you a hundred times before, never gonna happen." You said, twirling another forkful of pasta.
"Y/N, if it's about money, we both know Bucky and make more than enough to support the three of us." Yelena reminded you.
"It's not the money. I'm not with you two for your money. I make my own living." You said, putting your pasta container down. "I won't be that woman. The woman who sits on her ass all day and lives off someone else."
"We're not asking you that." Bucky shook his head. "We know you're not with us for the money, but wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have to work so hard? If you didn't have to run yourself ragged all the time?"
"It would be, but that's not the world we live in." You told the man. "I work because I like to work. I like to have something to do. If I were to quit and be your trophy wife,"
"Not what we're asking." Yelena cut in.
"Whatever, I would be bored out of my mind." You told the two. "I know I'm the first person that the two of you have been with who has her shit together, but I do."
"Alright." Yelena nodded. "Alright, we'll leave it alone."
"But the offer is always on the table, kitten." Bucky reminded you.
"I know. And I love that the two of you want to take care of me, but I can take care of myself. I'm a big girl." You said, picking up your pasta container. "Want to watch a movie?"
"Alright, both of you, laptops and phones away." You said, entering Yelena and Bucky's study.
"Y/N? Is everything okay?" Bucky asked, looking up from his computer.
"No, everything is not okay." You shook your head. "It's a beautiful day out there, and the two of you are cooped up in here doing work that I know you already have Steve on."
"Myshka, we're in charge of all this. We have to work." Yelena tried to remind you.
"You have to take care of yourselves." You told the woman. "In fact, Steve's the one who called me to tell you two to back off and let him handle this."
"Fucking punk," Bucky muttered.
"So, phones and laptops away, I am taking you both out." You said, pushing Bucky's laptop closed.
"Y/N,"
"Look, my job is to take care of the two of you. Well, I've made it my job at least. So, today, I am taking you both to the zoo." You announced.
"The zoo?" Yelena asked.
"Yes, do you have a problem with going to the zoo and seeing penguins?" You rose a brow.
"No, not really." Yelena shook her head.
"I suppose it wouldn't be a bad day trip." Bucky hummed. "I haven't been to the zoo in years. We could rent the place out."
"Maybe we could even pay them to let us play with the penguins," Yelena suggested.
"Hold your horses, you two." You cut the two off. "I have enough taken out to pay for three day passes, and for us to get lunch, I think I would need a loan to get them to shut down the park."
"Y/N, you don't have to pay for this," Bucky told you. "We can pay for this easily."
"I know that, but I want to take you two out."
"When people usually say that to us, they usually mean it in another way," Yelena mentioned.
"Ha-ha." You rolled your eyes. "Look, you pay for dinner when you take us out and for whatever other activity you guys plan. I planned this one, I want to take you both on a date, so I'm paying for this."
"Y/N,"
"No buts, you two." You cut the two off. "Look, I know I can't take you on over-the-top expensive dates, but I can take you out on nice ones."
"We weren't doubting that."
"So, turn off from work. For me, please?" You pleaded with the two. "Steve can handle this, and for today, we can go out and just be Y/N, Yelena, and Bucky today."
"It might be nice to just be normal for the day." Bucky hummed.
"Who cares about normal? It'd be nice to go out and see penguins." Yelena said, standing from her desk and stretching. "Can we get hotdogs? I haven't had a hotdog in so long." She added.
"We can get as many hotdogs as you want." You smiled.
"Can I have hot sauce on them?" Yelena rose a brow, causing Bucky to gag.
"You have an unhealthy obsession with hot sauce." Bucky groaned.
"You can have as much hot sauce on your food as you like." You promised the woman.
"Yes!" Yelena cheered. "Let us get changed out of these stuffy suits, and we'll be ready to go," Yelena said, dragging Bucky out of his chair.
"Jesus, Lena."
"Hurry up, Barnes. I want hotdogs now."
Christmas seemed to be a time anyone who needed a favour came out of the woodworks for Bucky and Yelena.
After being together for three years and having seen three Christmas with them, you could say that you had first-hand seen how far someone would go for them.
Every year it seemed their mob friends, those who wanted their influence, and the people who were trying to stay on their good side, would up the ante on the level of extravagance and expense.
"Oh, look, we've got a letter from Stark," Yelena said, flipping through this morning's mail.
"It's probably this year's Christmas present," Bucky mentioned, filling his bowl with cereal.
"Please, tell me it's not another animal that we don't have room for." You pleaded. "The horses are nice, and that alpaca he gave us is an ass."
"You like that hedgehog he gave us," Bucky mentioned.
"That's because Harold is adorable and requires very little work." You smiled.
"It's not an animal this year." Yelena cut in, skimming through the letter. "It's a stay for the three of us at his island resort for whenever we want."
"Well, there's our New Year's plans." You smiled.
"Nice try, missy. But if we skip out on New Year's at Ma's, she'll skin us alive." Bucky reminded you.
"Or get the wooden spoon." Yelena teased, causing Bucky to shiver.
"I was just kidding, Buck." You promised, leaning over to kiss the man's cheek. "We'd never try to skip out on visiting your Ma."
"And it has nothing to do with the fact she feeds us and makes us take containers home," Yelena said, causing Bucky to chuckle.
"Ooh, that reminds me, I gotta finish wrapping your parent's presents." You said, nodding to yourself.
"It's four days until Christmas, myshka. Did you really leave all your wrapping until now?" Yelena shook her head.
"Not all of it." You denied. "I have my parents, Nat, Steve's and all of yours already done." You told the woman.
"Is this the part where you tell us what you got us?" Bucky asked you.
"No. You can wait until Christmas." You said before narrowing your eyes at the man. "And don't even think about trying to look for them, or I will tell your mother."
"Y/N," Bucky whined as Yelena cackled.
"No, Bucky."
"But you always have the best presents," Bucky complained. "You don't just give us things because they're expensive. You get us things we actually like."
"And you're complaining about that?" You rose a brow.
"No, I'm complaining because they're my favourite, and I can't wait."
"How are you a mob boss again?" Yelena asked as she took her seat.
"Don't act like I didn't catch you snooping last night," Bucky said, causing Yelena's eyes to widen.
"Yelena!"
"I didn't find anything." Yelena said, raising her hands. "And James' right, you do always get the best gifts."
"Of course, I do. Because I'm not trying to buy the two of you off like Stark." You smirked. "Look, Christmas is four days away. The two of you can wait until then to see what I got you. Okay?"
"Alright."
"Fine."
"And if I find out either of you were snooping again, I will call both of your mothers."
Despite what being Yelena and Bucky's girlfriend meant for you, there was nothing you wanted more than their time.
You had been constantly reminded you could ask for the world, and they would give it to you, but you didn't want the world.
You only wanted them.
