Seb had been filming all day with Chris and he was tired. There was just so much they had been doing lately, like press conferences and interviews then filming, that each night he had a hard time turning his brain off and going to sleep, so naturally he was running on zero sleep and zero energy, and it was all starting to catch up with him.
It was one of those feelings like you didn’t really know why you felt like shit but could probably get away with telling people what you thought it might be yet still be worried that it might be something more. Either way he knew he was gonna be screwed at some point. Even Chris was looking like shit, he looked like he could just plop down to the floor and sleep right there.
Seb shivered and wrapped his arms nonchalantly around himself, there was no need to be chilled, it was a comfortably warm day out.
The director called for an hour break so everyone could just regroup and reenergize, and of course set up for another larger scene. Seb didn’t move at first as he felt sort of an uneasiness creep through his body. It was the feeling like his body was setting up for something. “Seb, you wanna grab a coffee or tea?..that’s all my stomach can handle right now.” Chris said as he came up behind him.
“Ya man, same..I feel like crap. I don’t wanna walk all the way to craft services though, let’s just go to my trailer.” Seb said.
“K.” Chris said and they slowly meandered in that direction.
The trailer was only about a two minute walk which was nice but even in that short time Seb felt like he was loosing even more strength.
“Chris I feel fucked up, my body feels weak and just not great.” He said gently.
Chris was instantly concerned but at the same time comforted, because to be honest he was feeling like that too.
“Me too actually, feel kinda sick.” He said. “Just haven’t slept much at all, we’ve been running our asses off for two weeks straight, eventually it was gonna catch up to us, now it is.” Chris said blatantly.
This was the second captain America movie, they weren’t used to the crazy hype and craze that had come of it.
They weren’t complaining, just reflecting.
When they reached the trailer they slowly found their way to the couches and laid down completely forgetting about the coffee and tea. They were lights out in seconds.
——————————
The second AD and one of the producers approached Sebs trailer having seen them both walking in that direction an hour earlier. They knocked but there was no answer. They knocked again, no answer. The AD checked the door to see if it was locked, which it wasn’t so he slowly opened the door and called into the trailer, again no answer.
“Sebastian?…..Chris?…” he called again. He pushed the door open a little more. “You guys in here?” He said and entered a little more. He didn’t want to be nosey but they were quite literally ready for Chris and Seb back on set and they hadn’t came back at the call time. As he entered completely what he saw was just too much and he slowly backed away back to the the door and stuck his head out to talk to the producer. “Hey…come in here, you have to see this.” And he waved him in.
The AD led the way until they stopped at the couches. “Look.” He said.
A huge smile spread across the producers face. “This…is a picture.”
The couch was a sectional, so it was like two couches in one really.
The boys were there with their heads almost touching still in uniform, so it was like Bucky Barnes and Captain America took a nap together. It was adorable and hilarious all at the same time, and they were totally ‘out!’
“I don’t have the heart to wake them!” The AD said.
“Crap..me neither.” And they both silently laughed while the producer pulled out his
Phone and took a couple photos.
The AD followed suit, chuckling as he took some pics. “This is so good!” He said amused.
“We gotta wake them though.” The producer said next.
“Yeah….damn…I kinda feel bad though, they’ve been literally run off their asses lately…you noticed.” He said, making a point.
The AD just nodded. He knew all too well they had been.
“It’s gonna make them sick if they don’t get a break. Remember that film we worked on a couple years back?…we ended up loosing 3 weeks cuz all our leads got sick.” The producer said.
The AD nodded again. “Yeah they do need a break it’s been kinda crazy lately.” And with that he reluctantly gently patted Seb on the thigh to wake him.
Seb slowly came to. He could hear a muffled sound but it seemed far away. He furrowed his brow to the slight movement of what he thought was someone shaking him.
‘Stop,’ he thought.
The shaking was bothering him, it was making him feel uneasy. He groaned, but the shaking continued, even a bit harder it felt.
“St’p.” He slurred out, still mostly in sleep.
He could feel a bit more now, but it wasn’t good. It was his stomach, his stomach felt sick.
The shaking continued and he again could hear his name called, a little closer this time. The shaking continued.
“St’p m’ving.” He slurred out as he came to a little more.
He could feel his stomach even more now and it was rising. He swallowed deeply but whoever was shaking him was clueless to how he was feeling.
“Seb…” a muffled and distant voice came.
“Sebastian…” closer now and a tad clearer.
“Seb,” the voice came now clear as ever. Seb was awake, he was there now, but so was the contents of his stomach.
Seb quickly shot up and reached for the one thing he knew had a bottom in it, and that was the glass vase on the table in front of him. Flowerless thank goodness, but breathtakingly clear. He pulled it under his mouth right as his stomach completely emptied filling it instantly to half way.
The AD stumbled back a bit and after the initial shock wore off he made a motion to Seb with his hand and looked up to the producer. “See…like this!”
The Producer had been waking Chris, who was now just coming too with the extra commotion, but as soon as he saw Seb and the contents of the clear vase he was finished. He’d been woken up to feeling pure nausea and this was a sight he just couldn’t handle. His mouth instantly filled.
Suddenly the producer was being pushed out of the way while Chris made a beeline for the sink.
“Holy fuck, you gotta be kidding me.” The Producer said. “We’re so screwed.” He said as Chris inundated the sink with half digested food and liquid.
He looked to the AD who was quite literally holding his arms out slightly at a total loss of what to do.
This is when a voice came over the walkie to the AD. “You guys find them?”
The AD pressed the button to the walking and spoke into the mouth piece. “Uuuh..yeah we found them, but we have a bit of an issue.” He said.
“What’s the issue?” The Director said.
“Well..they are ah…both currently getting sick.”
“Did you say they were feeling sick?”
“Their getting sick..puking..up chucking..” the AD said.
There was a little more of a pause………………………..”how bad is it?”
The AD raised his eyebrows. “Let’s just say neither of them made it to the bathroom.”
Chris turned on the tap to try and rinse his mess down the drain before slumping down to the floor. Bad idea…cuz he was suddenly gagging again, but this time all over the floor beside him. He slowly lifted himself up again and stood over the sink to empty some more.
During this time the Director had learned their location and had made his way there.
There was a knock on the trailer door before it opened. “My boys in here?” He called out concerned before his eyes found Chris, then Seb. “Oh jeeze…damn.” He said sympathetically. “Alright…they’re wrapped for today.” He said and made his way to Chris first, avoiding the spread of sick on the floor, then to Seb, who was still sitting on the couch holding the vase under his mouth.
“Alright let’s call the medic in, then see if we can get them changed out of the uniforms before calling wardrobe.” The Director said.
The AD nodded. “Ok yeah no problem.”
Chris coughed and spit. “I’m sorry.” He said weakly to the director. He felt absolutely spent. Even standing felt difficult.
The director was really great about it. He placed a hand to Chris’s back. “Don’t be sorry Chris, I’ve seen how hard you and Sebastian have been working, I was actually worried you guys might fall Ill because of it. This isn’t the first time Ive seen this happen with my actors.”
Chris could only nod before he was gagging again, but they were empty now, and painful. Meanwhile Seb was helped up and walked to the bathroom and guided down in front of the toilet. He ended up falling to his butt and just resting over the bowl before not 5 seconds later he was being pulled over it by a set of hands while another torrent of sick forced its way out of him.
“Shit.” The producer said as the AD made sure Seb didn’t puke in his hair, his silver arm resting down between his legs.
“He’s kinda out still.” The AD said.
“Yeah, k maybe we can try taking some of this stuff off him.” He said referring to the ‘winter soldier’ uniform, meanwhile hearing Chris audibly heaving again from the trailers kitchen.
“This is gonna be a long week!” The Producer said.
The end..
