Summary
Since they meet, Erik was been *helping* Charles with his heat. Post-beach divorce, Erik can’t bear to leave Charles to deal with his heat alone since they bonded and that was really Erik's fault in the first place. So every month, no matter their relationship status or Erik's placement on the most wanted list, Erik sneaks into Charles' window to spend one or so intense night together. This is a story of 10 heats over 20 years.

Reconciliation or I’m tired of arguing

Charles was a lot of things. He was busy with school. He was stressed about the backlash he would receive from the US government if they found out what truly happened during the apocalypse. He was tired; he had an extended heat due to the pheromones in his system. He only got out three days ago.

After his telepathic attack, albeit forced telepathic attack, on governments around the world, the US government was starting to realize how big of a threat he was to national and international security. They were asking questions. The cover story was that the apocalypse blew up the school to kidnap him endangering Alex who was mysteriously brought back to life either by Apocalypse in his search for strong mutants or possibly Jean when she unleashed her powers not that the US government would ever find that out. Charles’ powers were taken over by apocalypse (true), he was forced to destroy all nuclear weapons (true), without apocalypse he simply did not have the power to do that again (false). The mutants with apocalypses were under mind control (false) which he snapped them out of (false). They all worked together to kill Apocalypse (Mostly true, but Jean did the actual killing). He went into heat due to the stress (false, but they didn’t like asking questions about an omega’s heats).

The thing he was most out of anything however, was surprised. A feeling he did not have often, he found most people to be very easy to predict. For example, Erik staying for his heat was a given. Erik staying after his heat to help rebuild the school with Jean, not that surprising. He did just find out he was Peter’s father after all. Rolling into his office, an entire 24 hours after the house was finished, to see Erik building a small table with a metal chess. That was surprising.

“Erik? I’m surprised you're still here?” Charles was going to check his email for the 15th time today, but rolled to Erik instead. “Is that…”

“A chess table. Yeah. I thought it would be nice in your office.” He had stopped building with his hands, but the pieces floated together regardless. Erik looked to where his hands were in his lap. Charles could feel something in his brain, something fuzzy and soft.

Charles smiled warmly. “I doubt it would get much use. You are the only one I play chess with.”

Erik’s grin got a fraction wider as his eyes bored a hole in Charles' face. “I’m sure it will get penalty of use.”

It was his turn to grin now. “What does that mean?”

“What does it mean, Charles.”

Charles knew an invitation when he saw one. He allowed himself a brief look into Erik’s surface thoughts.

“You are staying… not here, but nearby.” Charles said slowly.

“Did you see why?” Erik asked. His hands were so close.

“No.” Charles wanted to lean in. He wanted to take Erik’s hands on his own.

“Look.”

“No.”

“Why?”

“Tell me.”

Erik paused. He was on his knees. The table behind him was almost finished.

“I don’t want to argue anymore.” Erik floated a white and a black king to his hand. “I know we have our different views, but I know we both want mutant kind to prosper. I know that you know I think you will come around to my views and I know that you think I will come around to your views. And one day I think we will stand together, but I think we both know that we won’t change.”

“Erik, what are you trying to say?”

“What I’m trying to say is, I’m not willing to let politics get in the way of how I feel about you any more.”

Charles could feel his breath get caught in his throat. His heart was beating so loud, he could practically hear it.

“I know what I want. And I am going to earn it.” Erik got up, handing the pair kings to Charles. He went to walk out of the room but stopped at the doorway and turned back to a stunned Charles.

He closed the distance between them and crouched down. Cupping Charles face in his hands and pressing a gentle kiss to his lips before smiling gently and leaving Charles feeling breathless.

They had never been intimate with each other outside of their respecting cycles. It was something they just never talked about, until now.

Surprised? Yeah, that’s one word for what Charles was feeling.

2 weeks and 7 hours after apocalypse:

“Raven, if you don’t put me down this instant I swear.”

“Relax, Charles, I will put you down in a minute.”

“Hmph.”

Charles was currently in the uncomfortable position of being thrown over Raven's shoulder for reasons that are completely not his fault! Namely, Raven found him taking a quick nap at his desk for the fifth or so time in the last few days after she came back from one of her spying missions.

She plucked him out of his chair and started walking to his room. Hence the threat. Once there she threw him on the bed, face down and yelled out “Get some sleep! I’m telling Hank to not let you out until 7:30am tomorrow.”

“But, RAVEN!” He yelled as she locked the door and walked down the hall. I suppose she was right, but this is a cruel and unusual way to get someone to sleep.

He slumped into the bed, deciding to make the most of this and get some sleep when he felt more than heard a light chuckling from behind him.

“Do you let all your students lock you in rooms?” Erik said from the open window, his gentle smirk

“You know Raven isn’t my student and you know no one can control her.” He turned himself around as best he could with his legs spread from falling, “What are you..? Oh nevermind.” Charles needed to focus on the goal; getting out. “Get my wheelchair. It’s in my office.”

Erik was fully in the room by now, standing at the foot of Charles' bed. He didn’t say anything for a second, just stared at him. Erik sat down on the bed.

“What are you doing?” Charles asked, sounding just a tad annoyed. Okay, maybe more than a tad.

“You look tired.” Charles groaned in response. Great, now he was really never getting out of here.

“Not you too. I will sleep tonight just…,” his sentence fell away as Erik put a hand on his hip and pushed him onto his side. Erik laid down next to him, securing his grip around his waist.

“Is this okay?” Charles could feel Erik's breath behind his ear, sending shivers went down his spine.

“Yeah,” his voice was too breathy for his liking.

Erik hummed. They stayed there for a while until Erik reached his hands under and over Charles respectfully to grab his wrists.

“Erik?” Charles gasped slightly as Erik moved his calloused thumbs to gently cover the scent glands on his wrist.

“Shh. You seem tense, I just want you to relax.” Charles bit his lip to suppress the whine in the back of his throat as Erik pushed down gently on his sensitive glands.

“Have you been reading about Omega biology?” Charles asked, trying to fight the hazy fog threatening to cover his brain.

“Yes. I read that massaging an omega’s scent glands is a good way to get them to relax. Am I wrong?” He didn’t stop, he pressed deeper.

“No.” Charles gasped, burying his back deeper into Erik’s chest.

“Good, let go. Let me take care of you.” Erik nuzzled his nose into Charles neck and started gently scenting him.

Charles could feel himself start to melt in the alpha’s hold. Compliant and needy, everything he wasn’t normally. But the things Erik were doing was making it awfully hard to think even for a second.

Charles' eyes were drifting shut when he felt something he’d never felt before, a tongue. On the scent gland in his neck. His eyes shot open as he felt Erik place a gentle kiss to his gland.

Erik shushed him, “Relax Charles. If you don’t like anything just tell me, okay?”

Charles gulped slightly but nodded and trying to relax. He didn’t have to try again as his body melted when Erik started licking at his gland, just slightly massaging it. His wrists were still caught in Erik’s. It was overwhelming in the best sense. Completely covered in his alpha, practically sedated with the amount of happy chemicals being generated in his brain.

Then Erik did something so wonderful that he didn’t get another cognizant thought the entire night; he took Charles scent gland in his mouth and bit down. Not to break the skin, but to making him feel it. Then everything was blank.

Charles could faintly remember Erik saying, “Shh. Go to sleep Schatz” when he woke up the next day with Erik awake in his bed.

Charles didn’t know what else to do but turn in his grip and whisper, “Hi”.

Erik smiled fondly at him and whispered back, “Hi.”

They stared at one another for a moment. Charles' telepathic shield went down so when Erik’s mind replayed last night, he felt the heat build up in his cheeks.

“What time is it?” Charles wispeared.

“7:25am” Erik said after scanning the nearby area for a clock.

Charles gasped, “Shit. You should go. Hank will be here any minute.”

As if on cue Hank walked in with Charles in a wheelchair, “I know you are probably mad at me, but..,” He looked up to see Charles and Erik, fully clothed, but together. And as Charles would later find out a giant hickey on his neck.

Hank just stood there for a minute. Staring at them with wide eyes. Until he finally said, “I should go.” and pointed to the door. “Yeah, I’m going to go now.”

Charles followed Hank in his mind and saw Hank walk into the nearest closet and scream. Charles started giggling, sharing the information with Erik who softly laughed too.

They laid there for a while until Charles said, “I need to teach a class.”

“Right.” Erik sat up abruptly and pulled the wheelchair over to Charles' side to the bed.

Charles dragged himself into the wheelchair and grabbed a turtle neck from his dresser. Best to hide the hickey from his students.

Charles stopped before the door and turned back to Erik. He was standing near the bed, just watching.

“Erik.” Charles called.

“Yeah?”

Charles wheeled over to him and grabbed his hand. “Thank you.”

With that he left.
