The Last Wish
Two weeks later.
Amity groaned as her alarm sounded.
She only got ups for the meals she got. And then spent the rest of her days watching crystal ball, sleeping, and crying on the shower.
It was all she did now.
She could stay on this inn the rest of her life really. With her family fortune, and what she earned in her adventures (and she owns all of what Ed and Em had) so she could pay her way easily.
She only went out for meals because the workers needed time to clean the room.
With a sigh, she got up and put a hoodie on, covering her now long and uncared hair.
She simply didn’t care about it anymore.
Amity went down the stairs, and got her food, sitting in a quiet table at the end, eating her food in silence.
At least, she thought she would.
“Hum ?”
Amity swore she heard something behind her.
“Whoever you are, just let me eat in peace.”
The noice did not stop.
“Ugh, come on !” Amity stood up and looked at the noice.
But what she saw was...impressive.
A kid was trying her best to clean the floors. Making more of a mess.
“I’m so sorry Mam. Ple...please don’t report me !”
Amity sighted. “Just...be quiet.”
That’s when Amity noticed something...off.
“Are those...scales on your hand ?”
“AH L I...I...”
“You are a basilisk.”
“Oh no...I’ve been discovered, please don’t tell ! I can only work here as long as no one knows I am a basilisk !”
“You...work here ?”
“Well...more like. I work and they let me stay here, away from the rain. That’s the deal.”
“Hm. Whatever, I won’t tale.”
“You...won’t !”
“No. I don’t care anyway,”
“Why...thank you mam !”
Amity sighted and just brought the rest of her food to her room.
Later that night, Amity sat on her bed, looking at her crystal ball.
In it, was a particular contact.
But Amity could not bring herself to call her, so she turned it off.
She hated this. She hates not having Ed and Em here, she hates not being able to call Luz, at least to apologize to her.
No to mention. She has no idea when Hekapoo will find her.
“Ugh...Huh, it’s raining again.”
“Ugh, it’s raining again !”
Amity was curious of that yell, and walked outside.
In it, she saw the basilisk trying to cover herself with a box from the rain.
It was...sad.
“Hey, Hey you .”
The basilisk turned to her.
“Oh...hey mam ?”
“You do know it’s raining, shouldn’t you be...inside ?”
“Oh I actually don’t have a room here. Since I am a basilisk, they don’t have to give me one, so I sleep here.”
“ but...it’s raining.”
“Yeah, I always get barley any sleep because of the rain.”
Amity sighted. This wasn’t her business, she shouldn’t care.
But...
“I got a couch in here, come on.”
“What ?”
“I won’t get wet all day kid, either you come in the room or no, make up your mind,”
The basilisk was shocked, and wasted no time in getting inside.
“Thank you mam.”
“It’s nothing, you are gonna get sick. Basilisks can’t have rooms..stupid.”
“Ah..I’m Vee, by the way.”
“Amity. Now listen Vee. You just stay there, and leave me be ok. Trust me, I am not the best company.”
“Well...you already seem much better to me than others.”
“PST. Trust me kid. I am not good. At all.”
Vee had insisted on talking, which mad Amity think she would regret her choice.
But...her talking helped her fall asleep faster.
When she woke up, she sighted and got ready for another miserable day...
“What do you mean Blight is dead !”
Amity felt panicked at hearing that. But she calm down. That was not Hekapoo’s voice.
She looked outside, and gasped.
“The Emerald Entrails !”
“What..what is going on ?” Vee asked,
“Shhh, keep quiet !”
Th basilisk did as told and got closer to the window.
“Who are those people ?”
“The Emerald Entrails. A band of four orphans that is known to cause mischief, they are...rookies ? Look just stay quiet, I need to hear what they are saying.”
Amity picked her head out of the window.
“My tracking spells, never fail.” Gus said.
“Worry Not Willow. We will get the wishing star !” Hunter said.
That truly peaked Amity’s interest.
“The wishing star ! I am so stupid ! That things is the reason I have three lives !”
She decided to listen more.
“Thanks Hunter. But we are in a hurry, the star has only one wish left before it losses its power.”
Only one wish left ! Shit...
“Besides, we need the map first to find it.” Willow continued.
“I still don’t get why we need Blight for that.”
“Because the map is currently under the possession of Boscha the Banshee. And not anyone steals from her. Only the best of the best.”
NO ! For fucks sake ! Of all the people, it had to be Boscha the one that had the map !
“Well. I still think we can get the map.” Hunter said.
“Uff. You are right Hunter, it looks like we are gonna have to try it ourselves.”
“Yeah, I’ll create a plan that will be so perfect, everyone will be jealous !” Gus said.
“You, a plan ?” Skara laughed. “You got many things Gus, but plans, is not one of them.”
“Hey, I can be smart, right guys ?”
“Sorry man. You do lack some. Grey matter.”
“Come on Hunter.”
“Enough, come on Emeralds. We need to leave to get that map !”
Amity waited for a moment until the Emeralds were gone.
“There is only one wish. But I need the map, and it’s under Boscha’s possession, ew, but if I can get that wish...my lives will be back and I can continue on !”
Amity rushes to get change.
“What are you doing ?”
“Sorry Vee.” She said, getting out of the bathroom with a blue dress on. “I think my time here is over. I am getting that wish !”
“Wait, if you aren’t going, take me with you !”
“Hehe. Cute. Sorry kid. I’m going to a dangerous place. It’s not safe for you.”
“I...I know...but I just...I don’t want to sleep in the rain anymore.”
Amity finally looked at her and...saw her puppy eyes.
Her biggest weakness.
No...no no no !
She can’t fall, she can’t !
“....You do, EXACTLY what I tell you, and if you are more of a problem to me, you are out ! Are we clear ?”
"Yes Mam !"
"Good, now, lets get a cart." She summoned her beloved palisman Ghost. "Amity Blight is back."
Amity and Vee sneaked around the town where Boscha has her potion factory.
"So what are we doing here again ?"
"I need to get something from that factory. Now you will stay here on the wagon, and as soon as I am out, we need to go, fast."
"Why do we need to leave fast ?"
"Because the one that holds the map, Boscha, will try to reclaim it as soon as she notices that its gone."
"Boscha ?"
"The top potion maker of the isles, a total asshole, and, she has a crush on me that makes me want to throw up.....ugh....so yes, we need to leave fast."
"Oh she has a crush on you ! That's nice."
"Trust me kid. A relationship is about being equals, and Boscha has no idea what that word means. So no, its not nice, its disgusting."
With that, Amity leaped forward, and entered the base.
Amity crawled threw the pipes, listening to what she could.
She looked over a open vent, and saw the scene.
"Hmmm. I declare this potions.....deadly !"
WANTED: BOSCHA THE BANSHEE
"Pack them up." Boscha said, her underlings hurrying to do what she said.
"Hey Ms. Boscha, we got it !"
Boscha turned around, and saw who called her.
"No way...its it...is it actually, the map to the wishing star !"
"Yep, we got it boss."
"HAHA ! YES, FINALLY ! Good job Glandius trio !"
The Glandius trio, composed of Bria, Gavin, and Agmar looked proudly at her.
"Now come on, we need to get this to the treasure room !"
"Wait a minute lady." Bria said. "Time is business and we got other clients, first, give us our pay."
"Yeah, I mean, we did have to kill a lot of people to get this." Galvin laughed.
Boscha groaned. "Fine, lets get your pay."
She turned to one of her minions.
"You, get this on the treasure room. I will make sure this three get their, wonderful pay !"
Amity saw Boscha lead the trio away, which made it the perfect chance to get that map !
Amity followed the minion threw the vent, and waited for the moment they left.
She used her abomination magic to slowly open the vents, and crawled inside the room.
She then used the goo to create a key, and open the chest.
"Hehe..." She chuckled at having the map. "All to easy. Now, I need to leave before Boscha gets...ACH !"
Suddenly, Amity was kicked right on the back, sending her to the ground.
She felt the map get taken from her.
"Hey, I don't know who you...."
"Amity ?"
That voice....oh no.
"L..Luz ?"
"Amity." She growled.
"Hehehe...hey Luz. How ha...ACH !" Amity yelps when another kick comes.
