Summary
Holding a grudge against your boss who had just fired you was the perfect excuse to go clubbing. It all ends in disaster, however, when your drink gets spiked and an unusual doctor has to pull you out of trouble.
Note
I've finally picked up writing again, so it might be a bit rusty. Also, English isn't my native language, so I'm sorry if I've made any errors. Anyway, my obsession with vamps is more alive than ever (lol) after watching Morbius. The movie is, in my opinion, nearly not as bad as people make it seem. I quite liked it overall. This is going to be a few chapters long. I'm not sure yet.

Slaughter

“You called for him,” Daniel hissed in your ear as he leaned against you, his gun prodding painfully against your skull. “So he must care for you.”

You were gasping for air, struggling as the rope around your neck was slowly digging into your skin – it had started to irritate. “He does not,” you said between your teeth. “I was only part of his plan.”

Daniel looked at you, his green eyes searching for something. “Nice try, sweetheart,” he finally said.

In the meantime, Michael was causing havoc as a few of Daniel’s men screamed and gunshots were going off in all directions. Your body stiffened as you were unsure if one of those bullets was going to end up in your body.

Michael had promised your safety, so you had to trust him. But the current situation wasn’t exactly in your advantage. You were strapped in a chair with Daniel hovering over you, his gun to your temple and Michael was flinging himself in lightning speed through the warehouse.

Three dead bodies were in your line of sight. Their throats ripped out, blood was everywhere and you had never seen such a gory image before. But this had been your idea – you had agreed to participate in the plan to get more information, to get to know the organisation.

You knew you would never be the same again after tonight. If you survived – that is.

“Doctor Morbius, I advise you to halt your actions,” Daniel said with a bittersweet voice, “or this little girl is going to find out what my bullets taste like.” He jammed the gun even harder against your head and you let out a small moan of pain, squinting your eyes as it felt like he was trying to actually break your skull.

There was nothing left of your adrenaline – you’d used it all up by then and the uncontrollable trembling that followed was a combination of fear and pain.

Michael was a few feet away from you, holding Jay in a death grip at his neck, when he froze after hearing Daniel’s words.

Jay hung above the ground, his hands clawing at Michael’s hand around his neck and he screamed unintelligible words, his feet kicking in the air.

“Drop him.” Daniel was sneering at this point.

Michael’s monstrous look turned back into his own handsome face and he let go of Jay’s neck. His blue eyes shot towards you and wandered off to your bloodied lips. His jaws clenched visibly.

“Just kill them, Michael,” you whispered.

Daniel clearly heard you – his gun hit your temple this time, a sharp pain shot through your head, something bright flashed before your eyes and then your vision started to get splotched with blackness.

A painful noise escaped your lips. Daniel’s mouth moved; he was speaking but the words didn’t reach your ears. You blinked up at him, trying your best to pay attention but your consciousness was barely there.

Something wet trickled down your head and you figured he had hit you hard enough to make you bleed, again. The little bit of humanity he had had before was long gone.

There was a discussion between Daniel and Michael, you could see the heated expressions on their faces as your mind was slowly trying to capture the meaning of their words.

You squeezed your eyes shut and tried to focus. It was helping.

“- and why would I do that. You just killed three of my men,” Daniel snapped. “Let’s not forget about the bloodbath you have caused the other night.”

“Let me shoot him through the head.” Jay sounded pissed. Probably because Michael had almost killed him twice now.

You opened your eyes to see Daniel hesitating. He was still pointing the gun at you, but no longer keeping it against your head. He probably felt your gaze upon him as he looked at you from the corners of his eyes. It was unsettling.

“The strength and power you possess,” he said, looking at you but clearly speaking to Michael. “I want what you have.”

“Are you insane?” Jay said with a higher pitched voice as he looked at his boss with large eyes.

Daniel’s head snapped towards him. “Watch your tongue.”

You swallowed, feeling the blood in your mouth glide down your throat. You couldn’t imagine Michael drinking that stuff to survive – let alone someone wanting to become a blooddrinking monster out of free will. Although Michael had made it clear he was mostly surviving on his synthetic blood, the taste was still the same.

“Fine,” Michael said. His eyes weren’t his normal blue – they were darker as he was scrunching his dark brows together, his face oozing how angry he was. “But touch her one more time and I’ll end you all.”

Daniel snorted. He put his gun back in his holster and raised his hands innocently. “Jay,” he said, stepping away from you, “take my place. Michael and I have a deal to seal.” The other three men kept their guns aimed at Michael as Jay came to stand next to you.

You were getting tired. It had probably something to do with your blood loss.

“Let me make sure she’ll be fine first,” Michael said.

Daniel groaned in annoyance. “Sure.” He stepped away, obviously not interested in your wellbeing. “Just know that if you harm me, your little girlfriend will die and all of this will be a waste of time.”

“I won’t harm you,” Michael answered him, but the look on his face told you something different. He had a plan.

He lowered himself in front of you, his hands softly stroked your knees as he looked up at you, studying your face, your wounds and your expression. “You’ll be fine,” he whispered.

He looked rather rugged with his dark hair around his shoulders, his dark coat and the blood of his enemies on his shirt. There wasn’t a trace of his anger left as he leaned in closer.

His mouth was next to your ear, his hot breath stroked your skin and you could smell his perfume. “I’m sorry, this shouldn’t have happened to you. I promise to make it up to you when we’re back in the lab.” He leaned back a little, his blue eyes searching yours and when he was sure you’d heard him, he leaned in. His lips on yours was a welcome feeling. All you had felt was pain, and now a part of that was being replaced with the softness of his lips and tongue.

He was kissing you as if he were on a mission. His tongue stroked in your mouth, his lips devoured yours and he was rather quick with it. It only took him a few seconds before he pulled back and let his tongue lick your temple. You finally knew what he was doing; he was drinking your blood.

“That’s enough,” Jay shouted as he kicked at Michael.

Michael sprang up and glowered at Jay. His face was changing. And it wasn’t the vampire-face you’d seen before. It was way scarier.

Was it because of the blood?

His skin turned a sickly colour, his teeth grew longer than you’d seen before, his nose morphed into that of a bat, his cheeks hollowed – all in less than a second and Jay didn’t even have the time to react as Michael flashed in front of him and broke his arm, making him drop the gun.

The other men including Daniel fired instantly. But not a single bullet made it into your body as Jay caught them all. Michael had used him as a shield. And as the men – stupid enough – kept shooting until their weapons jammed, Michael simply threw Jay lifeless body away and continued his slaughtering, saving Daniel for last.

But Daniel wouldn’t be the boss if he hadn’t figured out a backup plan by now. As the other men were getting killed in only a blink of an eye, he’d ran towards one of the crates. His hand was already reaching inside the wooden structure when his body froze.

You had difficulty seeing what was actually happening through your hazy state, but one thing was clear; Daniel was no longer alive. His head rolled off of his body in slow motion and made a sickening wet noise as it hit the floor.

Michael stood next to you, his claws out and ready to strike – but he hadn’t been the one to kill Daniel.

“Hello, Michael,” a voice said – it was out of your line of sight. “Seems like I got here just in time. Your friend here was about to bring in a few lovely grenades. This whole warehouse is filled with weapons, did you know? Are these the kind of people you hang out with nowadays?”

Michael seemed visible taken aback as a man stepped closer and into your sight.

He looked familiar.

Michael made sure to stand in front of you, his claws still out as he took a protective stance. “What are you doing here, Milo?”
