Summary
“See you in a minute.” That was the last thing she said to him and that was the last time he saw her beautiful smile. He wished he had insisted on letting her go with them instead. It should’ve been him or anyone else, nothing matters more than her. He knows it’s selfish of him to wish that, but it shouldn’t have been her she deserves better. Deep inside, he knew that she know what was about to happen, that’s why she insisted on going there with Clint. She knew she’d always win against him and she did, and now she’s gone and so is Tony.
He lost the one person that was right by his side all this time and he couldn’t bear to go back and face life without her. Only if he had stayed a minute longer in Vormir, he could’ve had the life he wanted all along with her, but he didn’t he left as soon as he let go of the stone. He dreaded every second he stayed in the place that took his whole world.
Regrets and missed opportunities, things they could’ve avoided only if they had stayed for a minute longer. Could Steve and Natasha still find a way back to each other, or is it too late for them?
