Deadpool wasn’t sure why he was so nervous.

“Shut it both of you. First of all our heart belongs to Webs so don’t even try and secondly it's probably because we don't do hang outs often or at all. Yeah I’m just out of practice.” Wade said to himself standing outside Peter’s apartment building.

[Like you were ever in practice to begin with]
Yeah I agree with white on this one. We have always been losers.

“You lot, better be quiet for this!” He walked into the building and up to the apartment. He figured Peter would probably want him to come in the ‘normal’ way even if it's boring. The three knocks just confirm that he is very nervous and that maybe this was a bad idea. Peter’s a good kid and all that and hanging out with anti-heros is something that even meh people shouldn’t do… but this thought process goes nowhere when the door opens and Wade sees the absolute ray of sunshine that is this kid’s face.

“Well a bad idea has never deterred me before” he whispers to himself

As Peter opened the door he could hear Lizzo playing loudly in the kitchen and could smell whatever deliciousness that was coming from there too.
“Hey? Why are you in costume?” Peter questions him

He thought about it. Coming in civ clothes and actually relaxing a bit but then he caught his reflection in the silver of his door knob and thought better of it, don’t really want to give the kid a heart attack if he’s already agreed to hang out with him.

“Trust me, my face is a heart attack waiting to happen. You’re lucky I've decided to spare you from a fate like that.” he jokes, hoping the kid will just drop it and accept it for the better.

“I’m sure you're perfectly handsome under there but I won't push, plus it is your secret identity and all and I want you to feel as comfortable as possible. Though I do hope you can eat, I made tons of food for us to binge.” Peter says while walking back into his apartment not even understanding the impact of his words.

He called us handsome and made food! Marry him!
[That’s because he hasn’t seen the atrocity that is our face but i’ll consider it if it’s good food]

“Shh. Yep definitely can eat! All the foods please”

“Good! Now before we do anything let’s rock, paper, scissors to see who picks first movie”

God, this guy is cute. “Sure, but be prepared to be beaten, kid.”

The vibe carried on throughout the entire afternoon, they ended up on Peter’s small sofa watching Pirates of the Caribbean per Wade’s request which led to arguing about who’s hotter Keira Knightley or Orlando Bloom that was then countered when Peter said

“Okay so hot take but Johnny Depp. I’ve always had a thing for older guys.” with a wink at Wade who SWORE he didn’t blush but that was because he had his mask on so there were no witnesses.

When there was an overall agreement on that, they then watched Star wars the Empire strikes back because how could they not when it was Peter’s favourite movie. The last movie of the evening was something they both agreed on, it being Toy Story because it somehow came up that Wade had never watched it which Peter had argued was a tragedy because it was basically his childhood and one of the first things that sparked his interest in movies and Wade had agreed with the same enthusiasm just because it had made him feel all sorts of ways that Peter seemed to care and he didn’t want to discourage that.

“That was…” Wade didn’t like it. Okay no that was a lie, he enjoyed it but mostly because Peter kept reciting the script and got excited when he got it word for word. “Interesting.”

“You didn’t like it?” He sounded sad.

“No, I liked it! Just glad I didn't watch it as a kid is all. Lil’ ol’ me’s imagination was vivid and this would not have helped. Not to mention the nightmares I would have had from Sidd. Might still have, let's be honest.” Wade really didn’t want to upset the kid. They’ve had a nice night and he would hate to ruin it.

“Oh yeah a hundred percent. Sidd is terrifying. That's why my favourite is Toy Story 2.” Peter laughed at Deadpool’s obvious fear of Sidd.

“Then why did we watch this one, if it's not even your favourite?”

“So you’ll have context when we watch the second one next time, obviously!”

Next time? There’s going to be a next time? Wade’s chest warmed. He really didn't think he would be invited back.
[That’s because he probably lying to you to make you feel better when he ghosts you]
“Shut up no he isn’t” Wade argues for the moment forgetting Peter was there.
I mean I'm rooting for the guy but yeah he probably doesn’t mean it.

“He wouldn’t do that. He’s nice!” Wade again argues getting caught up in the argument.

“If I can have a say, I am nice and I do want to hang out with you again, if you also want that. If that’s what the argument is about. Peter buts in kinda shocking Wade cause for one he was sorta spot on but also because he knew about the boxes which was a bit weird but something he’s willing to overlook since Spidey has probably complained about them before.

“You do?” Wade chooses to focus on this cause honestly at this point he’s genuinely curious as to why.

“Yeah, DP, tonight was pretty chill and It’s nice to have someone who is yet to be bored of watching all my favourite movies with me.” Peter smiles and Wade just genuinely wants to protect the kid with everything he’s got.

Okay I want to marry him

“I really enjoyed tonight too. Oh trust me you’ll get bored of my movies before I get bored of yours” Wade replies hoping he’s not insinuating too much.

“Don’t say that or I'll take it as a challenge and you’ll never get rid of me.” Peter laughs and Wade’s heart almost explodes. Is it normal for someone to be this much like sunshine? It's like it's coming out of him from everywhere.

“Oh my god!” JESUS HOW DID HE FORGET. Wade practically jumps up from the cramped couch but ends up falling back down from the sudden movement.

“What??” Peter screeches having almost been knocked off the couch by Deadpool

“I HAVE TO GO PATROL!! I COMPLETELY FORGOT!” shitshitshit Wade needed to go. Spiderman had mentioned a couple days ago that he might not be patrolling tonight which obviously was him hinting that he should do it for him. Fuck he can’t let Spidey down!

“Hey it’s okay. Take a deep breath it’s only… oh shit yeah you should probably go it’s 10:30 which is very well known for its appeal to do something criminal like - jaywalking -” Peter emphasis this with a scream face in a way that makes Wade laugh so hard he almost falls of the couch and feel like he’s known Peter for years and they do this all the time.

“Shut up, i take my role as hero very seriously i’ll have you know and this is totally not an excuse for me to leave by the author. Wink. But all surprisingly scary 4th wall break jokes aside I should probably head out for patrol so no-one commits crimes or something like that.” Wade kinda sorta doesn’t want to leave but he does because it’s the thing spidey would do.

After that the two messaging becomes even more frequent and they both are secretly loving it. They schedule another movie night the following week and it soon becomes a weekly tradition whenever they both have that Saturday free. And life is going pretty good.

Except when it doesn’t. Except when Peter gets caught up in living the ‘best of both worlds’ and almost gets caught which causes a bit of a spiral.
