Chapter 22
Daisy always hated big conferences with the government and people who held authority over her. Yet she was in Vienna because they wanted her reasons not to sign the accords. She didn't need to be justified if they thought what they were doing.
Brushing off an invisible speak of dirt from her black pinstripe suit, which had cost her more than she wanted, walked up to Natasha, who was conversing with the Wakandan prince.
"-Makes me glad your here, Ms. Romanoff." she watched as Natasha smiled at the man. She stilled as the man turned towards her. Putting on her best smile she walked closer.
She took the hand he was offering and looked directly into his eyes, "You must be the Prince T'Challa people talked about, Daisy Johnson."
He looked at her as if trying to figure out everything about her, "I'd heard you're to present your case about the signing of the accords, I think it's good we hear the overside of the story."
She stood next to Natasha, who was gladly the same height as her, as they shared a conversation with the prince.
"Do you not approve of this then." she quizzed as she tilted her head slightly getting a better look at the man who stood in front of her.
He was a dark-skinned male with these kind brown eyes and a soft voice. She reckoned he stood around just under six feet but despite as imitating he could be, he was nervous. The vibrations that rushed shyly around his brain were all she needed to know.
"The Accords, yes. The politics, not really. Two people in a room could get more done than a hundred." He looked down at the two women in front of him when he talked dismissing the others that would want a talk with the Prince.
"Unless," Daisy turned around to see the person who she had seen mostly on the News nowadays, King T'Chaka, "You need to move a Piano."
Daisy listened to the Father-Son figures speak their native language one she hadn't learned yet.
"Ms. Romanoff, Ms, Johnson." The king turned to them both. His expression was less welcoming than his sons but it was probably to do with the fact he was a king with big duties.
"King T'Chaka. Please allow me to apologize for what happened back in Nigeria." Daisy took the words out of Natasha's mouth as she knew the spy was going to say the same thing.
"As am I." Natasha bowed her head slightly as a sign of respect for the king.
"Thank you, Thank you for agreeing to all of this. I am sad to hear that Captain Rogers will not be joining us today." The last part was directed at Natasha. It is clear that 'The' Captain America was a better political figure for this type of thing, Not an ex-Hydra agent who had been an Avenger for a few months.
"If everyone could please be seated." a voice rang over the intercom for the whole of them to hear, "this assembly is now in session."
"It was a pleasure to meet both of you today." T'Challa shook both of their hands before they left. Natasha gave Daisy a smile before they split into their separate assigned seats. Daisy noticed that her heart was beating a bit faster than usual and her hands were shaking, she was nervous.

"When stoled Wakandan vibranium was used to make a terrible weapon." King T'Chaka spoke loud and companding over the room. Bringing everyone to a hush as they listened in, "We in Wakanda were forced to question our legacy. Those men and women killed in Nigeria were part of a goodwill mission from a country too long hidden in the shadows. We will not, however, let misfortune drive us back. We will fight to improve the world we wish to join. I am grateful to the Avengers for supporting this initiative."
A rush of change in the vibrations around her and she knew something was up. The face of the prince changed as he turned to look at the two Avengers in the room clearly wanting them to do something.
"Everybody get down!" He shouted as people began to loudly panic. Daisy pulled a random person sitting next to her down under the tables. But was only quick enough to pull up a Shield of vibrations around the stands as a bomb went off.
Glass went flying everywhere around them as the sound run throughout the room. A thick blanket of smoke covered them all. Daisy cautiously went to stand up but felt pressure on her leg. Once again she had yet to remember to shield herself in one of these attacks. She used her power to remove a heavy piece of wood and stone from her leg and stood up ignoring the shooting pain in her leg.
Only she looked down to see the prince holding the king's body sobbing as he laid as head on the chest of the older man. She linked eyes with Natasha who looked just as shocked as she felt. She spread out her powers to feel who was alive and dead. And came into contact with all rushing heartbeats. But was different from below them. Racking a hand through her dust-covered hair she looked around at the carnage of the room. This wasn't a normal bombing it was clearly a targeted attack.

Once everyone had gotten outside they were met with medics but it was all cuts and bruises. Well part from her who was left limping with a possible fractured leg. But Daisy didn't want to be seen by medical and just wanted to sit down.
She watched from her seat on the bench as people seemed to be set up but she couldn't sit down any longer and decided to take a walk. The atmosphere was heavy with grief and hurt which was something she didn't want to be in the middle of. Plus people came to the conclusion that she had saved them all but she denied it with rolled eyes. Even if she knew they were true.
Taking a look around her she noticed Steve standing on a street corner on his phone talking to someone. He noticed her and put his phone down.
"Daisy." He had asked her to state their side of why they didn't want to sign the accords. He stalked closer to her in a leather jacket, baseball cap, and sunglasses, a poor attempt at an undercover outfit.
"So since you were Hydra," Steve began as they moved towards a cafe, she eyed Steve who never bring up her past and was also the last to trust her out of the Avengers. "Did you happen to know, the Winter Soldier or well James, bucky, Barns."
She knew the Winter soldier very well but also knows that he was the best friend of Captain America, "So you think The Wint-Sorry Bucky did this Killing the Wakandan King? Hydra never had problems with the Wakandans. What good would he do by that, I mean he's out." Daisy raised an eyebrow at Steve's theory, Hydra wouldn't launch an attack on the King not when Wakanda had too many resources that they wanted it was easier to suck up to them.
"He's gone rouge, Steve. My Contacts in Hydra say so," She put a hand up to him to signify that he couldn't even start, "And before you say anything, Fury knows about them. They work under me and aren't loyal to anyone else. They couldn't betray men even if they wanted to anyways."
Steve looked at her when he held the door open for her at a cafe they arrived at, the smell of coffee and baked foods eloped them as they continued to walk toward a male.
"Let me guess Romanoff told you to stay outta it." Sam Wilson told Steve wearing the nearly same as Steve, he eyes her, "Aren't you a sight for sore eyes." He chuckled at that as she sent him a smile. She quite enjoyed Sam, serious at times but also one for dry jokes.
"She might have a point, you know?" That time it was her time to speak. As much as she liked Steve and was on his side thought it getting involved with his best friend who was also a mass murderer could end up with serious consequences.
"He'll do it for me." His tone was more defensive over the fact of talking about Bucky. She could see why but she's the one who knows the winter soldier and if push comes to shove she would do what she needs to do.
"Well yea, 1945 maybe. We just need to consider all of our options. The people that shoot at you usually wind up shooting us."
Someone rounded up next to her with blonde hair. Agent 13 or Sharon Carter for that matter only knew her from footage that Fury was glad to show her.
"Tips are rolling in since the footage went public. Most think the winter shoulder goes to their gym. Most of its noise for now. Expect this." She slid a file down the bar so it reached Steve.
"My boss expects a briefing now. That's all the head start your gonna get." She turned to look at Steve slightly, And Daisy definitely knew that something happens between them.
"Thank you."
"Your gonna have to hurry. We have direct orders to shoot on sight." She left the cafe leaving the three in silence.
"Steve." Steve's face had dropped slightly thinking about his best friend being shot after being seen. He turned to look at her if he wasn't wearing his glasses then his blue eyes would show determination, "I can detain him if it comes to that. It wouldn't be pretty but it would work." The slight nodded of his head showed he was in with her unknown method of keeping the Soldier safe.
For now, they had to wait.
