Chapter 19
When Sirius and Remus stood in front of the infrimary.
"Soo? Is this always how it goes?" Asked Sirius Remus awkwardly.
"Ye, I just go in there, she gives me some potion and then I leave straight into the Shrieking shack." He stared into the wall, numb.
Sirius looked at him with symphaty. "Is that all? Like nobody ever comes with you or anything?"
"No," said Remus firmly. "Just that." Remus started shaking. It wasn't only because of the upcoming transformation, he was so nervous. It was the full moon and Sirius standing beside his best friend, Remus. Remus is shaking, he's scared. I't the first time he's about to transform in front of a person that is as close to him as Sirius is. "Sirius, are you sure about this? There is a reason they keep me locked up. It's dangerous. I don't want you to get hurt."
"Listen Moony, it's my choice. I stand behind it. Behind... you, anytime." Sirius nodded, joining Remus at staring at the cold cobblestone wall.
"Mr. Lupin?" The door to the infirmary. "I've got this ready for you. I will come pick you up in the morning. Make sure to make it in time. You know the way." The healer quickly shut the door.
Sirius shook his head. "Rude. Is she always like this to you? She was quite nice to me?"
"No," Now it was Remus's time to shake his head. "She is quite nice in the mornings. But they are all like that. I think they are scared of me. McGonagall, Dumbledore, Pomrey... They all are."
Sirius laughed, "There is no way, they are scared of you Remus. You such a lovely person."
"Hmp-" Remus snorted, shook by Sirius's statement, it made his cheek flush red.
Does he really think I'm lovely?
"Stop it Sirius, I'm a dick and you know it." The friends laughed and continued on their way. Sirius’s arm was wrapped around Remus’s shoulder. It probably didn’t mean much to Sirius. But to Remus it meant the world, he wasn’t scared of him, to him he was still Remus not werewolf. Just Remus. The full moon cast an eerie glow over the clearing where they stood, already in the shack, and Remus was trembling with fear. Sirius picked up on his friends panic and tried to calm him.
"Hey, hey," Sirius said soothingly, trying to calm his friend. "It's okay. I'm here." Remus nodded, but his eyes were wide with terror. He knew what was coming, and he dreaded it more than anything.
"You really shouldn't be here Sirius." The first striking bolt of pain hit Remus. He fell to the ground, writhing in agony as his bones began to crack and shift. Unable to say anything, unable to urge Sirius to get out. He was desperate. His body contorted and twisted as fur sprouted from his skin, and his nails grew into claws. And yet, Sirius was still there, holding him. Remus was fighting the wolf hard today. Harder than he ever did before. He was worried about Sirius. What if he ends up hurting him?
Sirius knew he had to transform before it was too late, but he didn't try it ever since... well... summer. A sudden wave of panic hit him. What if he won't be able to transform. Sirius watched in horror as his friend transformed into a monstrous creature before his eyes. He knew that Remus was still in there somewhere, but it was hard to see past the snarling, growling beast that had taken his place. It was too late when he realized he wasn't a dog, the wolf already managed to attack him. The creature stratched it's paw and slashed Sirius's chest. And just like that. Sirius started to feel dizzy. Remus stood above him, growling. He tried to plead for his life, but he couldn't. His vocal cords were failing him. It took him a good minute of Remus just starting at him before he realized he wasn't a boy anymore. He was now in his Animagi form. He was a dog.
Right, that's what spending half the summer as a dog gets ya I guess, I'm very much still in touch with my animal side. He thought, letting out a strange growl that could be mistaken for laughter.
Sirius stood up. It felt like a second nature. A strange yet true statement for. It was second nature to him to be a dog unsure if he'll live or die any second. Sirius and the creature stared at each other. It almost seemed as if the creature was sorry for hurting him.
Right, not something, it’s still our Moony. The same Moony.
Sirius tried to think of the creature as a friend. It is still Moony. It was hard, until he look into it’s eyes he saw the same terror he saw when Remus’s Transformation bagan.
It´s still Moony.
