Aren't We All Clichés
Nico was going to kill herself one of these days, she was sure it would be today given that she had woken up to Karolina’s limbs tangled in her’s. Honestly, if one could die from gay panic Nico would have been dead 5 times over. Suddenly Nico was pulled from her panic by Karolina slowly waking up.
Karolina blinked her eyes sleepily, a faint smile was lingering on her face, she kept her eyes shut after a few blinks and nuzzled her face into her pillow, or what she thought was her pillow. Nico went ridged as Karolina snuggled into her chest, Nico was going to hell, she was sure of it. It took a few seconds that felt like hours but Karolina realized that she was in fact not at her house and that wasn’t her pillow. “Shit, Nico, I am so sorry!” Karolina yelped, panic clear in her eyes, “Nope, it’s fine.” Nico managed to get out.
The both of them sat there for a few seconds, watching each other, panic and apologies clear in both their eyes. Nico was the one to break the silence, clearing her throat she quickly got out of her bed, “So, we should probably go eat.” Karolina nodded and jumped up to follow Nico downstairs to the kitchen.
Nico kept glancing back at Karolina, worry etching her face. Once they reached the kitchen Nico went to get something from the fridge and Karolina grabbed her wrist and turned Nico around, “Please promise me you won’t tell anyone.” Nico watched Karolina’s face for a second before she nodded, “Yeah, definitely.”
Karolina quickly backed up, apologized, and left. Nico wasn’t sure what to do with herself, she started making herself breakfast when Amy came down. “Heard you brought home a girl, Nic.” Amy teased from the stairs, Nico glanced up at her, “Yeah, you can’t tell anyone.” Amy jumped up on the countertop next to Nico, “Aw, your girlfriend wants to keep you a secret?” Amy laughed. “Seriously Amy, don’t tell anyone.” Nico stopped her efforts to look directly at Amy. Amy raised her hands, “Shit, ok.” Amy thought for a second, “hurry up, we gotta go soon.” Nico nodded, quickly ate the eggs she made, grabbed her stuff, and hopped in Amy’s car.
Once they made it to school Nico quickly walked to her locker where Gert, Alex, and Molly were all talking. Nico waved to them and approached, already knowing Gert would have something to say to her. “So, what happened with Miss. Popular?” Gert asked once Nico made it to her locker, “Nothing, she stayed the night because she thought her mom might be mad at her and left in the morning.” Nico shrugged, annoyance hanging in her voice.
Nico glanced around, she spotted Karolina talking to Chase, Karolina looked up, their eyes locked, the popular girl waved at her, a smile on her face. Nico looked down, ignoring the other girl.
When Nico turned back Gert was watching her with raised brows. Nico glared at her for a second before shutting her locker and starting her walk to her first period class. Just as Gert was about to protest, the warning bell went off, she frowned and left.
All throughout her first period Nico could feel Karolina’s eyes on her, she set about her work and ignored the blond’s gaze.
Nico may have helped the girl out and she may be fostering a crush for her but she wasn’t about to let herself be led on by some straight girl.
After school Karolina waved at Nico, she didn’t wave back. Gert watched intently then walked up to Karolina, held her hand out, and shook Karolina’s hand. Nico huffed and walked to Amy’s car, she glanced back once to see Gert pointing to her and talking with Karolina.
