The Myriad of Betrayal
Kara pauses, the Kryptonite in her shoulder pulsing painfully. Andrea? Like, Andrea Rojas, Lena’s college friend? Her eyebrows furrow into a frown. If Andrea and Lena have been friends for a long time, that would explain how Andrea knows about Kryptonians and their weaknesses. Kara gasps in pain as the vibrant green chemical begins to surge further into her body, her fast heart rate speeding up the process. A dozen question cross Kara’s mind, but she bites her tongue, instead focusing on the current situation. Andrea, crouching next to Alex, has removed her mask and hood, still holding the Kryptonite weapon.
“Alex… it’s been a while,” Andrea says, smirking. Kara cocks her head, confused. How in Rao’s hell does Alex know Andrea? Alex looks at Kara, mouthing ‘later’ before turning her gaze back to Andrea.
“W-what are you planning, Andrea?” Alex grunts out, her ribs clearly broken. Andrea stands, waving the weapon around the space as she talks.
“Well, Alex. If I told you all my plan, I wouldn’t be able to complete it, now would I?” She sucks in a breath between her teeth, the sound echoing throughout the empty warehouse. “If you must know, I’m not even doing it for myself. It’s for my father.” Alex, shifting herself into an upright position and leaning against the wall, tilts her head slightly.
“I thought your father got better.”
“The treatments stopped working,” Andrea reveals, grief clear in her tone. As this conversation has been occurring, Kara realized that J’onn is nowhere to be found. She tries calling out to him through her mind. No reply. Kara grips her shoulder, the Kryptonite is sapping her energy quickly, she needs to figure out a plan. With Alex distracting Andrea, Kara begins creeping forward to the table, spotting a computer. Scanning the document on the screen, Kara doesn’t understand the blueprint but catches several important keywords including Myriad, LuthorCorp, and National City army. Kara shakes her head. No way. No. Lena is not involved in this.
“Like what you see, Kryptonian?” Andrea asks. Kara looks at Alex, who’s slumped over, eyes closed. Andrea laughs before powering up the weapon again. The green hue brightens the warehouse. “The last blast didn’t kill you, but maybe this one will.” Kara closes her eyes, waiting for the blast to come. It never does. Cracking an eye open, Kara sees J’onn handcuffing Andrea, his Martian form a welcome sight for Kara.
“Alex!” Kara stumbles over to her sister. Alex peers at her through half-lidded eyes, fighting against unconsciousness. “Don’t worry, I got you. Save your breath.” Alex just nods. Kara picks up Alex, struggling against the effects of the Kryptonite coursing through her veins. Kara manages to fly to the DEO before collapsing on the helipad. Several DEO agents rush forward, taking Alex away on a stretcher before collecting her. There’s a brief moment of hope as she notices J’onn dragging a handcuffed Andrea toward the holding cells before she allows herself to pass out.
LATER
Kara blinks, her eyes adjusting to the artificial yellow sun, again. Her muscles groan in protest as she sits up, seeing Lena sitting in the chair next to her bed. Her heart begins to beat faster.
“L-Lena?” Kara stutters out, her mouth dry. Lena looks up from the laptop she’s currently working at, emerald eyes sparkling.
“Supergirl. How do you feel?”
“Better, thanks to you.” Lena waves her hand dismissively. “But why are you here? I thought you never wanted to see me again.” Lena lets out a breath before answering.
“After you left LuthorCorp that night, I decided to check into some things. Turns out, you were right. Someone managed to sneak past all of my security measures and steal from me. I still don’t know who, but they managed to grab some Kryptonite and a blueprint for a specific program.”
“Myriad.” Lena’s eyes snap to hers.
“How do you know that?” Kara slides out of the bed, her legs wobbling only slightly.
“Why don’t you ask your friend, Andrea?” Lena follows Kara’s gaze through the window of the medical bay. J’onn is guiding Andrea through the halls of the DEO from her cell to an interrogation room. When Kara looks back at Lena, her mouth in a tight line, she fights the urge to embrace her. Lena’s eyes are hard with hatred and betrayal.
“Can I talk to her?” Lena asks, closing the laptop and standing. Kara nods.
“Tell J’onn I said you could. I’m going to find Alex.” Kara leaves her room, unsteadily making her way down the hall to the next room. Spotting Alex laying in the bed, eyes closed, she steps inside. Alex’s eyes open as Kara takes her hand, sitting in the chair beside her bed. Alex smiles softly.
“Hey.”
“Hey, yourself. Aren’t you supposed to be resting under the artificial sun?”
“I’m fine, Alex. What about you?” Kara scans Alex’s chest and ribs, counting three broken ribs that have been wrapped. Alex squeezes her hand.
“It’s nothing, Kara.”
“Do you want me to call Maggie? I know she’ll want to know how you’re doing.” Kara begins to reach into Alex’s bag for her phone. Alex’s hand stops her.
“Wait, Kara. Uhm, Maggie and I… we broke up.” Alex bites her lip. Kara stares at her sister, stunned and hurt that she never said anything.
“What? When?”
“A week!?” Kara falls against the back of the chair, exasperated. “Why didn’t you tell me, Alex? I could have been there for you.” Alex just shrugs before grimacing, the action causing a surge of pain.
“I didn’t want to worry you.” Kara rolls her eyes. Typical Alex. Always trying to be Kara’s rock, never letting her be there. “Seriously, it’s no big deal.” Alex’s tone is nonchalant, but Kara notices the pain in her eyes. She squeezes Alex’s hand.
“I’m here if you want to talk about it.” Alex nods. “Now, tell me how in the Rao you know Andrea?”
“Oh, um. That’s not a necessary conversation.”
“Alex…”
“Fine. I hooked up with her a couple of times.” Kara’s mouth drops open. Alex cringes. “I know, I know. I met her at the bar before I even met Maggie.” Kara opens and closes her mouth, unsure of what to say. Kara watches as Alex shifts, the movement is tedious because of her broken ribs, before pressing a button nearby. As the medication flows into Alex’s arm, she begins to relax, her eyes beginning to close. Kara smiles and squeezes her hand.
A FEW DAYS LATER
Stepping into the elevator at LuthorCorp, Kara takes a deep breath, trying to calm her excitement at the prospect of seeing Lena. Despite seeing her as Supergirl a few days ago, Kara hasn’t been able to properly see her. Or touch her. Or kiss her. The elevator doors stop and open on the 14th floor. A short, stocky man with a bald head steps on. He nods to Kara before walking inside. In the awkward silence, Kara worries her lip, peeling the skin but not enough to make it bleed. She watches the numbers light up as the floors pass. On the 26th floor, Kara steps out and the man follows her. He’s wearing a rather expensive suit, adorned with a thick, gold-banded Rolex on his wrist. He must be one of Lena’s clients or investors. Kara ends up following him self-consciously toward Lena’s office. As they approach, Eve stands to greet the man.
“Mr. Luthor, please follow me.” The man smiles.
“No need, my sister’s expecting me.” Kara chokes on her spit. This is Lex Luthor? She subtly tries to examine him, not catching any similar features. Eve steps back as Lex pushes his way into Lena’s office. Kara decides not to eavesdrop, instead catching Eve’s eye before walking over to one of the floor-to-ceiling windows. Outside, it’s clear that summer has hit National City. The sun hovers on the other side of the sky, but its heat is felt across the city. Extending her super hearing, Kara listens to the busy population enjoying the late afternoon. Children laugh with their parents, teenagers plan parties, and adults finish off their work day to visit their family or friends. Unfortunately, summer doesn’t last long in National City. As a northward city, the snow usually hits eight out of the twelve months.
“Ms. Danvers?” Kara snaps out of her listening. Eve smiles at her politely as she gestures toward Lena’s office. “Ms. Luthor can see you now.” Kara nods her thanks before walking into the office. Instead of sitting at her desk, Lena is pacing in front of it.
“Lena?” Kara tentatively steps closer to the raven-haired CEO. Lena stops pacing, hearing Kara’s voice and seeing her enter the room. She smiles, but it doesn’t reach her eyes.
“Kara,” Lena exhales her name like it gave her air. The two women embrace, tensions and stress falling away. “I’m so glad you’re here.” Kara bites her lip again, the sound of Lena’s voice making her heart thump loudly. Lena steps back, creating a bit of space between them without removing her hands from Kara’s waist. “I’ve missed you.” A thrill runs through Kara’s body.
“Y-you did?”
“Oh, Kara…” Lena chuckles. “When are you going to accept that you are an amazing, talented, incredible woman that I quite like? Although, your shyness is pretty adorable.” Kara feels the heat crawling into her cheeks, unable to contain the blush. Instead of speaking, she leans close, closing the gap Lena left between them, and captures Lena’s lips. Immediately, Lena pulls Kara closer, her hands exploring her body. A soft moan escapes Kara’s throat as Lena tangles a hand into her blonde locks. Before Kara can deepen the kiss, Lena breaks it off. Unintentionally, Kara lets out a small whine at the loss of contact.
“Lena…”
“Patience, Kara. Trust me.” With that, Lena walks to her door and says something to Eve before closing and locking it. Kara bites her lip, her core throbbing from the way Lena is devouring her with her darkening gaze. “Now, we won’t be interrupted.” Kara just nods, watching Lena. She can barely think straight let alone make coherent sentences. Lena crosses the room to her desk, pulling out a small remote. Pointing it at the windows, she clicks a button, and large black shades begin rolling down, darkening the room while creating ultimate privacy. Once the shutters are completely down, the lamp near the bookcase emits light, casting a soft glow throughout the space. Before heading back to Kara, Lena slips off her heels, making the two women relatively similar in height. When emerald-green eyes meet her icy blue ones, Kara steps forward to meet Lena.
“Do you do this often?” Kara can’t help but ask. Lena shakes her head.
“No,” Lena whispers in her ear. A shiver runs down Kara’s spine from Lena’s warm breath. Warm lips begin kissing her neck. “Only for beautiful, blonde women with piercing blue eyes.” With her face growing warm again, Kara closes her eyes, enjoying Lena’s warm lips against her skin. Kara’s eyes fly open as she feels Lena lower herself so that she’s at eye level with Kara’s core. Lena’s hands caress her calves and thighs, before slowly lifting her dress and ducking under it. Kara feels Lena’s mouth on her inner thighs, leaving a trail of kisses towards her core. Kara sucks in a breath as Lena brushes her lips against the cotton of her underwear. She bends her knees slightly, trying to gain some kind of friction for a release.
“Always impatient…” Lena mumbles against Kara’s core before using her teeth to remove the cotton material blocking her path. The fabric falls, pooling around Kara’s ankles as Lena grips the back of Kara’s thighs with her hands. Lena moans as she licks a broad stripe over the length of Kara’s lips. She begins tracing tight circles around Kara’s clit with the tip of her tongue. Legs shaking and little moans escaping her lips, Kara reaches down, lifting her dress to gather the raven-colored hair in her fist.
“Don’t stop,” Kara pants. A moan comes from between her legs as Lena keeps her pace. Kara begins grinding her hips against Lena’s tongue as the pressure continues to build. “Oh, Lena!” Kara’s knees buckle as the first waves of her orgasm hit her. Lena’s mouth latches onto her core, drinking in all the sweet nectar that comes gushing out. As her orgasm subsides, Kara allows Lena to guide her to the couch, collapsing onto the white suede leather. Watching through half-lidded eyes, she watches as Lena wipes her chin before sucking on her fingers and moaning. Instantly, Kara’s body reacts, her arousal building again.
“God, Kara. You taste divine,” Lena moans. “I can’t get enough.” Raising herself on her elbows, Kara scans Lena’s body with a glint in her eye.
“Neither can I.” Kara pulls Lena on top of her. “Now it’s my turn.”
