One Big Sapphic Sob Fest!
Luz:
It had been almost a year. Almost a year since hooty took it upon himself to put my future girlfriend and I in that hell scape of a love tunnel. Yup! Almost a year since Amity Blight blurted out the question that had been running through my head that whole day. “Will you go out with me?”. A week from today is our one year anniversary, and it needs to be A-MAZING!
Making a working portal to the human realm was not easy, so add that time to the time it took for the final battle to take place, and I’d been gone for around a month. Since then, I’ve been stuck in the human realm trying to catch up on school. Being away from amity and others has been tough. I constantly worry about their well-being’s. What we went through was traumatic, and still fairly recent. More reason for this to be the perfect surprise.
The plan was perfect. I would travel to the boiling isles bright and early, set all the clues, set up the picnic, and then wait for my princess. However, first i needed to convince my mom to let me go. After jotting down a few bullet points of argument, I went down the hall and knocked on her door.
“Hola mama”
“Luz es once de la noche, ¿que estas haciendo?”
“I need to talk to you about something”
It took some convincing, but eventually she caved because she loves Amity (Probably more than me). The next day I wrote out all the clues. The scavenger hunt would start at her locker, so she can ponder on the clue throughout the school day. The first clue leads to the library, then to the grugby arena, then to the owl house, then to the final destination under our tree! There I would be waiting with a picnic and a beautiful cake(without bugs!). I CANT WAIT!
Amity:
That morning was a blur. I woke up so late that the only thing on my mind was to not be late to class. My perfect attendance score would not be lost, not today. I was walking in with Willow when we stopped by my locker. I opened it and a note fell out. I picked it up and unfolded it.
“Your second clue resides in the nook,
Where I once had to prove myself
Of your knowledge, like a book.”
- Luz
LUZ! What is she up to? I showed Willow but she didn’t seem to know what it was about. I doubted Willows oblivity since her and Luz are always in cahoots. I miss her, hopefully these clues lead me back into her arms. I sat anxiously the whole day waiting for the final scream. I couldn’t wait to see Luz, or maybe not? I never know what she’s up to. Always scheming. At the library I found the second clue.
“The third clue resides in arena of our most obvious pining, but the idea of it only resulted in your whining”
- Luz
Ha! The grugby arena! She’s so funny. I made my way to the arena where I had to ask Basha for the fourth clue. She stood with her little entourage of grugby friends who looked almost identical to her. Of course, she gave me the cold treatment until I had to beg.
“Please Basha this is important”
“I’ll only give it to you if you agree to be my friend again”
“Basha! We’ve been over this! Now give it.”
With a dramatic eyeroll, she handed over the slip of paper.
“Where all the magic began
you’re fifth clue shall lie.
Where hooty gave many hints
yet I came up shy.”
- Luz
The owl house! These are too easy, she must be as eager as I am. I flew over to the house as quick as possible, my patience fleeting. Hooty (still slightly terrifying) gave me the final clue after a long conversation about how if it weren’t for him, Luz and I wouldn’t even be together. Oh my god! I didn’t even realize it with all of hooty’s nonsense chatter.. how could I have forgotten! It’s been a year already?! Now I really got to get to her.
“You’ve made it to end!
I’m waiting under a tree where the stars shine brighter than your cotton candy hair”
(I ran out of rhymes, you know where I am)
- Luz
I inhaled in an attempt to stop my eyes from welling up. She’s the best. I love her so much.
Wait. I love her?
Luz:
I could see her flying over the hill waving the last clue above her head. I waved back wearing the cheesiest smile you’ve ever seen.
“AMITAAAYYYY!!”
“LUUUZ!!”
Lumity:
Amity practically flung herself off her broom and straight into Luzs’ arms which caused the two to tumble over onto the picnic blanket. Amity propped herself up to look at Luz who was overwhelmed with pure ecstasy just by the sight of her girlfriend. They just stared at each other, saying millions of things in their expressions, but only speaking in giggles. Finally, Luz grabbed Amity in a hug and sat her back upright. They stayed in the embrace until Amity became aware of the surroundings that weren’t her girlfriends almond eyes.
“Oh wow.. look at all this..”
“Oh yeah! I forgot about that, I was too focused on you”
Amity’s already pink face now turned bright red and she smiled at Luz.
“Happy one year anniversary, novia”
“Y tu, novia”
“Aw your Spanish is getting better!”
“Yeah they teach it at Hexside now, you know ya girl had to enroll!”
They laughed and their hands met on the blanket. Blushing profusely, Amity grabbed Luz’s hand. With her free hand, Luz pulled out a card from her bag that was laying beside her. It read,
“ Dear Amity,
HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! This past year was rough, and I think our relationship was pretty much the only thing in my life that stayed consistent. Thank you for being there for me. From that unexpected Grom fight, to our terrifying adventures in the library, and finally to a death battle with Belos! I know this first year was nothing we could’ve expected, but you’re my person and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I love you Amity.

No inhale was strong enough to keep the tears from coming this time. Amity weeped into the letter, not allowing Luz to see her face. Luz of course was immediately concerned.
“Amity, what’s wrong? Did you not like it? I know this yea-“
“I LOVE YOU TOO LUZ”
She said through her sobs. Luz fished her head out of the letter and onto her shoulder. The two hugged as Amity continued to cry tears of joy on Luzs’ shoulder until she too, started to cry. The scene was one big sapphic sob fest. After the emotional rollercoaster that is lumity, the girls calmed down enough to eat some cake. Luz cut into it and handed Amity a slice. They ate with a big goofy smile on their faces, and every so often one of them would laugh which caused the other to laugh in the solidarity of knowing that they were a mess.
“Come here” ,amity demanded.
Luz followed suit and Amity reached to her girlfriends face.
“You have frosting riiiight… there.” She wiped the frosting off of Luz’s face and licked it up herself.
“Oh”, Luz said, sounding slightly disappointed.
“What were you expecting?” Amity asked, knowing exactly what she was expecting.
“Nothing! Thank you for wiping it off” Luz smiled, and Amity kissed her cheek.
That was just enough teasing for Luz, she grabbed her girlfriends face and landed a smooch right on her lips. Amity was pleasantly surprised and went along. The two embraced for a moment, both of them too scared to breathe properly. This was all still new for the both of them, so when Luz pulled away, the giggling ensued. They hugged again, not really sure what to say after that. They looked out on the view of the ocean. It was outstandingly beautiful.
“Wow.. the view here really is gorgeous” Amity pointed out.
“Yeah it really is..” but Luz wasn’t looking out at the ocean. She was looking at the cotton candy haired witch under her arm. Her beautiful girlfriend, whom she loved.
